Can anyone help me with Dreamcast emulation. The games lack massively. I have a decent gaming pc so that is definitely not the problem.

Maybe you should state what emulator you are using, and with what settings, also the specs of your PC would help. Dreamcast is relatively straight forward, and i would recommend the standalone Redream emulator as its easy to use and should "just work" out of the box.

On Demul on Sonic Adventure 2 it was lacking but on Redream it works fine. I have not been on Big box for ages so I forgot about different emulators you can select to see if it works better with certain games. Thank you

Demul is old and no longer updated, it's not recommended for Dreamcast these days, Redream and the Flycast core in Retroarch are far better choices.

Thanks for the updates! I loaded up the Flycast core and it runs so smoothly!!! Granted, Demul always worked great for me, too, so I don't have any real complaints there..... but I can't believe how crisp Flycast is.

Only small issue I noticed with Flycast........ no "bing bong bong bong" Sega swirl when loading up each game! How will I even know I'm playing Dreamcast!!?!?!

thanks again!

In the flycast core options are you using the HLE BIOS?

If you are using a real BIOS and that is disabled you should get the startup swirl and sounds.

Ok thanks, I'll have to find that..... I got the dc_boot and dc_flash bin's.... those still the right ones?

Yes.

With Retroarch's new UI design, I can't find that HLE Bios toggle in the menus.

Which UI mode are you using?

Should be under Options in the Quick menu after you start a game.
