Archive.org Collection Sync

View File

Easily download/sync any collection from archive.org to your local computer. Automatically scans for any existing files and checks MD5 checksums to make sure that all downloads are correct.

To download, simply paste the archive.org URL into the top field, put the destination folder into the second, and click Start.

To pause/abort a running download, simply close the window. To resume that download later, re-open the app, choose the same URL and folder, and then click Start. Existing files with the correct checksum will not be re-downloaded.

Wow nice! I was just looking through archive.org for additions to my new install. So this comes in very handy. Since archive.org is so slow, does it support multiple downloads in parallel so it speeds things up a bit?

Would be nice to have an equivalent for Myrient, which seems to have more up-to-date rom sets, for the retro consoles at least.

Edit: actually, seems like the Internet Archive set I was looking at was not the latest (though it seemed to be, from the link).

I can't seem to get this to work; when I paste the Archive URL, I get this:

image.thumb.png.9eadb342c391839e766e03d1e35437b6.png

The address of the collection looks like this: <Removed Link>

It does work when I use this link: <Removed Link>

But that seems to be an out-of-date set.

Appreciate any advice on this one @Jason Carr

Also, apologies for including links to the archive. Seeing as this is an app that scrapes the Archive, I thought it would be OK to add links, but apparently not!

I don't know how easy it will be for you to diagnose the problem if you don't have those links. Let me know if you want me to PM them to you or anything else.

Quick question on this. Does it only compare what files you alrdy have & dl the new set version of those only? I keep a manicured mame set of about 500 games & don't want anything else, just the ability to update those 500ish to the new set.
