Area 51 and other mame roms needing chds not working

I cant have two files with the same name.  Can someone show me what it is supposed to look like?

For Area51, you should have the main ROM file, area51.zip (which is about 622kb).  And then have a folder called area51.  This [sub]folder should then have a single file area51.chd (which is about 475MB).

A folder and a zip file are not the same file names.

I have also found that with roms your mame version can be a little different than the rom but with chds they are more finicky probably need to be the same.

The CHD is no different than the zipped rom data. It all depends on what was updated during the new Mame release. If a CHD was not updated in several revisions than it can run fine.

For me it worked when I used Mame 0.258 with 0.258 chd I had Mame 0.257 and 0.258 chd.
