I am not having any luck trying to add my GBA games into launchbox. I have the roms in .gba format when I go to add I select the rom folder they are in. I it shows up as gameboy as my platform so I scoll down and select gameboy advanced then it lists retroarch as emulator then when I get to the screen where it shows games to be added it only shows 1 game TMNT and it does work. I have many other in the same roms folder all with the same .gba Also when I go directly into retroarch all the roms load fine I just cant seem to get lauchbox to recognize the games to import.

Any ideas?

Typically this is because you have the games already added and just don't realize it. The most common source of this confusion is when users have "Hide Games Missing..." options enabled. Inside of LaunchBox go to View > Show/Hide and make sure those options are turned off and see if your games show up then.

Thanks for the reply. I have nothing hidden and I do have it to show all games. Its just weird that I can not import the games into Launchbox.

Even when I try to import the rom as a single .gba file it still shows nothing at the games to add screen at the end of the import process. Its almost like the importer does not recognize the .gba files. I do have GBA associated with retroarch and to nothing else.

Ok so if I manually add the game right from the main launchbox GBA platform screen where you would normally start a game and if I right click and hit add and then point it to the rom file it works but that way is going to take forever to add the roms. I just cant get the importer to add them for some reason.

Here you go. when I get to the what platform are you importing games for it first shows Nintendo Game Boy like I have shown in picture 4 instead of GBA so I switch it to GBA like shown in picture 5. Usually launchbox picks the correct console right off the bat.

Looks like games are already in your system since last screen is not importing anything. What do your actual rom files look like? Can you post a pic from inside the Windows folder showing all the GBA roms? If the roms are not already in LB not sure why the folder option LB is not seeing any actual files in the folder.

You can choose the "Add File" button then then LB will allow you to find the rom folder and select all the rom files in it to import. I rarely ever use the "Add Folder" option.

I have tried adding as folder and as files and like I said above I even tried to import a single file but at the end of the import it shows no game on list to import and the only way to add the game is by the add button when I right click on platform game list area and manually point it to the rom file not using the import function at all which means doing it one at a time as well as the image downloading.

Well I think I know what the problem is. It appears that the Launchbox importer does not like the ( ) in the file name which includes .gba or .zip files. once I remove them from any rom file it shows on the import list.

This is also also a pain as I now have to delete all of the ( ) and info in them for each file. Doesn't seem right that it does not disregard that. Seems like it does for other platforms if I remember correctly.

It seems that switching all the roms to zip files instead of .gba  allowed the importer to recognize the roms without having to change the names or removing the ( ).

So I guess im good to go.

That would imply that as previously stated those games were already imported, the reason the zips show and import is because they are no longer .gba files so are considered different files completely.

Thats not true, basically all roms come with () in them, if that meant they wouldnt import then no Launchbox user ever would of been able to import any games at all apart from Windows games.
