BigBox Locking up soon after going into Attract Mode in version 13.19

Ok so after having issues with BigBox freezing up when using Attract mode with versions 13.19 & 13.20 I did the following:

*Removed all artwork and videos from my collection by moving the images and video folders to another hard drive.

*Redownloaded all images and artwork fresh from within LaunchBox only.

--I figured maybe there was an issue since the database switched in the latest update.

*Removed all installed themes but the default theme(s) included with Launchbox.

*Uninstalled and reinstalled LaunchBox 13.20.

--Attract mode ran without a glitch using the "Default" theme.

Then I installed Unified Refried Theme as my "overall" main theme. BigBox froze and crashed within 20 minutes.

*The problem seems to be with using other themes. I have only tried the Unified Refried theme at this point.

My Computer:

Windows 11 Home running the latest updates

NVIDIA RTX 4090 with the latest graphics driver installed

i9 13900KF processor

Latest BIOS installed.

The beta version seems to have fixed the issue from what I can tell. I only ran it 3 1/2 hours but it didn’t freeze. It used to freeze after about an hour and a half.

The beta version of the next update? If so good deal and thank you for all the hard work. I’m not super techy so alot of this is a struggle.

Yeah, the beta version of the next update has several corrections in it to help with attract mode stability. We have at least one more beta version to put out before we can confidently push out the full version, but the full version I'd assume would be out in a week or two.

Awesome and thank you again. Finding launchbox and having the ability to play old games has been amazing.

HI Folks,

With the release of 13.21, we're considering these specific issues (Big Box freezing relating to the video playback engine) resolved. Please check out the details on our known issue report for more info.

For anyone who is still experiencing freezing, as long as you are NOT using VLC as the playback engine, then this is likely a different issue, and we highly recommend submitting a new post so we can diagnose things separately.
