themaniac81 Posted Tuesday at 04:54 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:54 AM (edited) I've been at this for a few days already. Yes, I've enabled my overlays in retroarch and I've tried numerous things but I can't figure this one out. (https://imgur.com/a/utpHm8Q) I have a config_nds in my retroarch root directory for example. My buddy told me that he does not have a config_nds folder in his root directory. He told me that I should only have Gamebezels like so (https://imgur.com/a/blTGW9P) which I do. fyi, I'm not using Launchbox yet. I figured if I'm having a problem with bezels using retroarch the same problem will arise if I'm using Launchbox. I've been using the bezelproject launcher here: https://github.com/thebezelproject/BezelProject-Windows/releases/tag/V1.1.14. On the github link just above, I don't understand this, maybe that's why I'm having this problem: Added the following text to the application Help page: This utility will created custom cfg files in the Retroarch main directory for any Bezel pack installed for the Retroarch platform. Use the name of the cfg file on the command line when Retroarch is started. Example: retroarch.exe -c "retroarch_mastersystem.cfg" Thank-you so very much for taking the time to get back to me. If you have LaunchBox install RetroArch for you and then have it (LaunchBox) download and install the bezels for the particular console, you should be good-to-go, without issue. 1 Quote
Joe35car Posted Tuesday at 04:14 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:14 PM Hey JoeViking,I'm the friend he was talking about. He had retroarch, launchbox and downloaded the Bezel project app. We tried to pull the bezels from launchbox and also the app and it doesn't show his bezels. In retroarch bezels are turned on. The rom naming convention should be good because I gave him my rom sets. I just don't know why it's not working so I told him to post here. Hope you can help him. 1 Quote
C-Beats Posted Tuesday at 05:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:06 PM Bezel Project recently changed how a lot of their configuration works that we haven't changed on our side so the output of running BP independently vs us running it the process for you at this point can be quite a bit different. Honestly I'd just let LB grab em for you and turn on the settings as it tends to be a bit more full proof. That being said @dragon57 may be able to better help you understand what you need to be checking for. 1 Quote

The only thing I can help with is sharing my process. My test: Installed a fresh copy of LaunchBox 13.22 Closed the initial Add Games popup I don't think Download Bezels options popup via this wizard (could be wrong) Though they can always be added later via Download - Metadata and Media Tools - Manage - Emulators - Add RetroArch - Download OK - Close Tools - Import - ROM Files - Single Platform selected my Atari 2600 folder, followed default prompts Checked Download Bezels (selected default Theme Bezels) finished the process to import Selected Adventures of Tron and clicked Play. The only thing in RetroArch I did go in and manually change was Settings - Input - and set Confirm Quit to Off. Otherwise, nothing in RA was changed/setup/modified/etc. The bezels are found in \LaunchBox\Emulators\RetroArch\overlays\GameBezels\Atari2600\[.png and .cfg files] 1 Quote

The example given does require a bit of retroarch knowledge. I didn't make it more specific because the Bezel app is used for more than just LaunchBox. As far as LaunchBox configuration using the latest Bezel app referred to in your post, you would use Tools/Manage Emulators, then select Retroarch and click on the Edit button. Find the Associated Platforms section, then the list of cores and "Extra command-line parameters. In that parameters section, use the -c option and the name of the cfg file created when the app installed the selected bezels. Look in the root Retroarch directory for a list of the cfg files available. Hope this helps. If not, give us a list of the cfg files available and a pic of the Associated Platforms panel. Quote
JoeViking245 Posted Tuesday at 06:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:06 PM Follow up: Using my [LaunchBox] process, I noticed Frogger didn't get a bezel. It appears... I imported the MAME file (frogger.zip). The game imported into LB just fine (images etc.). But even Tools - Download - Metadata and Media wouldn't grab a bezel for it. I renamed [just] the file to Frogger.zip. It then downloaded the bezel file. So, it seems there's something to be said about "proper" file naming conventions. (uppercase filename vs lowercase) Quote
Joe35car Posted Tuesday at 06:20 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:20 PM Well he's set for MAME I believe because I gave him the artwork folder with all the bezels. He's trying to get the Nintendo 3DS working. I gave him my roms and the names match my bezels. For some reason he can't get this to work or other systems like NES. Quote
Joe35car Posted Tuesday at 06:25 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:25 PM (edited) That's a screen shot on my setup and it works on my end. Using Citra core in RA. OK I'm going to take a back seat and lets you guys help him out. Edited Tuesday at 07:18 PM by Joe35car Quote
