theme BigCouch Theme 1.5.7

This theme looks amazing, but I keep getting errors any time I activate it and try to navigate.

Strange your bug. For the base point covered in the description:

• Are you up to date? You need BigBox v7 beta minimum.
• Do you have Windows Media Player installed on your machine? You need it
• Do not leave the Documentation.pdf open at the same time as BigBox.
• In BigCouch theme folder, trying to remove the 7.0.1.txt and relauch BigBox.

Would it be possible to get a variation on Platform View 3 that, instead of the platform description, had the recent and favorites lists? I've got a few platforms like Arcade and Classic PC where use of the platform description just doesn't make much sense, and I'd prefer to have the favorites and recent lists instead. Also, would it be possible to use background videos rather than fanart in that view? It might actually look neat even with the blur filter, I'm not sure.

Love this one, but on all my systems (not just the example below) the image overlaps the text a bit, not nice and slick like on the screenshots. See here:

@Dan : This is not a bug, it's a feature!  The placement of the text is thought to be used with my video set. The slight pitching is normal. The problem here is the image of the Amstrad which is very wide. I'll try to fix that at the next update.

This is one of the nicest, cleanest themes out there.

I'd really like to see a platform view that is fullscreen video, but with a horizontal scroll clear logo platform bar to include a minimalistic approach to the platform view that focuses on video, similar to RetroFresh's Platform Wheel 1 view.

It's an amazing theme as it is, however. Love it.

Finally just found the time to try this theme out and i have to say that its beautiful on my big screen build.

I think you're using the 4:3 videos but need to be using the 16:9 ones.

@classicxii  @sw1fty808 : It's the opposite. You use my video set in 16x9, but you should use my set in 4x3. You can use the LaunchBox tools to easily download the correct set.

Awesome work man, this is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I do have a question though; is there anyway to have game view 1 display game screenshots instead of video?

I really like the clean look on this, but I have an issue with the platform category view.

Instead of picking the description of each category from their "Notes" saved in their metadata, it seems like it's searching inside the actual platforms. I noticed that because they are all empty (Consoles/Handheld/Computers) except one, Arcade, which shares the same name with one of the platforms. Here's an example:

BTW the description on the Arcade category is not the correct one, but, like I just mentioned, it's coming from the Arcade platform.

this is purely amazing !! had a small issues with the image for the background but thats something i can fix up very easily. Great job !

I just tested and actually it doesnt work. Very strange bug.
The thing is, the "category" pages are not special. These are the same as for the platform view. Same file, same code.
I dont see what I can do about it.

An idea someone?

I don't know if this can be helpful but Platform view 5 is the only one which isn't affected by this and shows the proper description for each category.

Is it possible to do a FM Towns Video for this theme i.e the computer not the marty console?

Hello I think I need some help, I brought bigbox tonight and decided this is my theme I like the most. I have a problem though. Instead of nice and clean like this -  Mine looks like the attached image. It's completely different. I'm using 1920x1080 too, even the images are low res instead of high.

Have you tried switching the view? Most themes have several views and you can switch through them in Options/Views. You can also go to the controller or keyboard settings in options and set the switch view to a keyboard/controller button, so you can switch the view on the fly with a press of a button.

yep sure have mate, This "view" I'm on is the view above that's suppose to be... Unfortunately mine just doesnt look like that?

OK I have messed around with it and I get the same view as you. It appears the theme was updated at some point and that view was changed, but the image for it is still in the description at the top of the page. However we can get it looking like that for you, you just need to download a older version of the theme. If you scroll down to the bottom of the theme description you will see a white change log drop down ,drop that down and choose version 1.2.0, when you do that you will get a blue download link just below it, download that version. It should then look like the picture in the description, just delete the version you are currently using first then add the older 1.2.0 version to your themes folder.
