  1. Hi, I'm the person who's been adding a lot of Switch games to the games database recently (6700 changes so far, nearly all Switch related). I have been working on the "perfect" high realism Nintendo Switch 3D box that's based on @Arcanthur 's amazing work. I have finally finished the template and am now ready to replace the 560 3D boxes I've already submitted in recent weeks, plus there's another 300 I'm still working on. I'm planning on making the spine titles all exactly the same - alignment-wise, font-wise and case-wise. So, right now, I'm going for the MARK PRO BOLD font in all CAPS - I honestly don't like how the lower case letters look and some titles are all caps anyway. I don't want to have to double check if a title uses caps or not, so they can all be caps which will speed up the process by a lot! There are 2 polls, one for the position of the title and one for the case of the title - please feel free to vote and let me know. Also, if anyone has any requests for covers and cases, leave a comment and I'll add them to my (long) list. Many thanks in advance! A few visual examples: CAPS CENTRED: LOWER CASE CENTRED: CAPS INDENTED (TOP): LOWER CASE INDENTED (TOP): CAPS TOP (DIRECTLY UNDER THE SWITCH LOGO): LOWER CASE TOP (DIRECTLY UNDER THE SWITCH LOGO): EXAMPLE OF A LONGER TITLE IN CAPS (FOR A BETTER IDEA OF THE FONT): EXAMPLE OF A LONGER TITLE IN LOWER CASE (FOR A BETTER IDEA OF THE FONT):
  2. Just as a final update on this - I still couldn't get more than 30% of videos to download without black screens, so I ended up using the "Clip" feature on YouTube, combined with a YouTube downloader: Find the video on YouTube, get to an appropriate part (past all the intros etc and avoiding cut-scenes). If you then select the Clip (Scissors) symbol under most YouTube videos, you can create a short clip (from 15 to 60 seconds in length), you can also scrub in the editor to choose the best in and out points. Once done, name the clip anything (it won't let you get the link without naming the clip) - I just called them all "a" - one letter is enough. Then click share, which gives you a custom URL that can be used with a YT downloader and it recognises the length of the clip too, so paste the clip link, download into the right folder of Launchbox, rename to match your rom and that is it. It takes longer, obviously, but you can select your clips better and ensure that none of them have other things in them like speedrunners, reviewers or playthroughs with commentary!
  3. Yes, just realised I should have quoted you so you get a notification. See my other response too. Many thanks.
  4. Yes, I'm trimming at around the 4 minute mark as this is usually after all the intro scenes for a playthrough from the beginning of a game. I only need 40 seconds clips, and I don't search for trailers as they tend to have added music and text that isn't part of the normal gameplay. As an aside, what would be useful is to have a negative search criteria, so adding a "minus mark" like this: -trailer would then exclude anything with the word "trailer" in the title, or even: -(trailer, speedrun, commentary) would exclude all those terms at once. I've downloaded a few videos where the footage is fine, but someone is talking over the gameplay or had their "split counter" graphic in the corner for a speedrun.
  5. Is anyone else getting this problem - approx 60% or more of my downloaded videos are just a black screen and no sound. I've tried updating the youtube downloader and the ffmpeg files, but it's still the same. Some videos are fine, those seem to take slightly longer to download, but the black screen ones normally take 10-20 seconds, so I know they're black screen before even looking. It seems to be downloading something in that time, but the end result is a 30 second blank video. Doesn't matter if I choose "data saver" or "best" quality, the result is the same, although it takes slightly longer to download a best quality black screen video. Any suggestions to get this fixed? Something to do with the encoding part? I've no idea. Many thanks in advance.
  6. UPDATE EDIT: I have just done another export with only C64 and the issue is not present??? Not sure why it's now worked, nothing has changed. I will leave the rest of the info below for reference, but this appears to be a one off on a single export. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Not sure why this happens with C64 and ZX Spectrum (maybe others). I have checked for this issue with Playstation 1 and GameCube and their multiple discs are exported without issue. I do not know how many other systems are affected by this - I'd imagine Commodore Amiga will be the same, I don't have individual disc files for my Amiga as they are all kept in a single LHA file, but someone using adf files will definitely have multiple files and might also be affected. So, basically when I export my games collection from Windows to Android, if I check the resulting export folder in \LaunchBox\Games\Commodore 64 - all the games with multiple files associated with them - like tape 1, tape 2, side A, side B, disk 1, disk 2 etc. The second parts are all being ignored and just the first file is sent over. Some examples: Labyrinth (Activision + Lucasfilm Games) (Side A).zip - INCLUDED Labyrinth (Activision + Lucasfilm Games) (Side B).zip - MISSING Games, The - Winter Edition (Disk 1 Side A).D64 - INCLUDED Games, The - Winter Edition (Disk 1 Side B).D64 - MISSING Games, The - Winter Edition (Disk 2 Side A).D64 - MISSING Games, The - Winter Edition (Disk 2 Side B).D64 - MISSING Games, The - Winter Edition (Disk 3 Side A).D64 - MISSING Games, The - Winter Edition (Disk 3 Side B).D64 - MISSING Summer Games II (Side A).G64 - INCLUDED Summer Games II (Side B).G64 - MISSING I presume this is a bug, rather than a limitation, due to the fact that other systems with multiple discs seem to be fine (Playstation and GameCube). As a quick solution I am going to manually add those missing files back into my Games export folder - will this still work? Does the XML file for Commodore need to reflect the multiple files (\LaunchBox\Data\Platforms\Commodore 64.XML)? Many thanks!
  7. I think the best way to solve this is to have a checkbox with 2 options (when exporting to Android) - these will affect the XML file only: Export selected game/s only - this will create a list of only these games - any current games on your Launchbox Android install will be overwritten and replaced. Export selected game/s in addition to your current game list - this will create a list of your current games plus these additional game/s - your current Launchbox Android games will remain and these selected game/s added. Should be an easy fix and make the export process a lot more user friendly! Thoughts?
  8. After a lot of fiddling around - I've realised that there's a bug with the export from Windows feature if you're adding to an existing install on your Android device. For example, I want to add 1 new rom I've added to Windows - so I export this one new rom file in the "Export to Android" shortcut. This will generate all the files necessary, but the XML file with the gamelist only includes the single game you've just exported - this means that when you transfer that gamelist over to your Android device, it updates the current gamelist XML file and replaces it with just the single rom entry. So, when you load your emulator from Launchbox, you now have only one game showing! What it should do, is export your entire gamelist with this one new rom added - that way, when you export and import the gamelist XML file, all the previous games you had are still listed and the new game is also added. I have managed to work around this by manually importing the rom again directly on Android, but this isn't ideal.
  9. I recently added 10 new games to an already existing list of about 60 games for a specific system (Gameboy) - these are all on my Launchbox installation on Windows. So, I wanted to make sure that my Launchbox installation on Android also has these 10 additional games. I selected the 10 new games - went to "Export to Android" - it built the export file - all good. I then decided to import directly to the console (Ayn Odin Lite) by connecting it directly to my Windows 10 PC via USB-C. There was a warning about an existing Launchbox file, so I chose to merge files (which would normally just add any new files and leave anything else already there). All went well, successful export/import, BUT when I went to my new games list on my Android build, all I had showing was the 10 new games and all the old games I already had on there were gone! I then decided, OK that's a bit stupid, but let's export ALL the games again and put them back - not ideal if you have 1000s of roms for a system and only want to add 5 new ones. Export successful, games all listed again - BUT all my save states were deleted and I had to tell Launchbox which emulator to use when launching a game - so it basically reset everything after import - very annoying. So, what's the best way of adding games without any of the above issues? Many thanks!
  10. I have the official paid version of PPSSPP Gold installed on my Android 12 device (Ayn Odin Lite). I have the latest build of Launchbox Android (paid version) installed. I also tried the latest beta build as well with the same results. Every time I try to launch a game from the Launchbox front end I get a long error, but the gist of it is: Could not load game. IdentifyFile: File does not exist: blah blah blah I have configured the PPSSPP Gold app, given it permission to access where my roms are stored - also created a separate saves folder, which is required on install. Launchbox has a warning before using the PPSSPP app about giving it permission to use the correct games folder - I have already done this and confirmed as working. I have already tried launching an unzipped games from PPSSPP Gold and it works perfectly, so no issues there. How do I fix this issue? Many thanks in advance!
