  1. One thing that might help here, is that for a non-emulated game under that game's metadata and Launching section, there is both an Application Path & Configuration Application Path field. You could technically point the Configuration Application Path to the installer, and assuming you install the application to the same location each time, populate the Application Path to the install .exe. There, when you right-click on a game you'll have both Launch which loads the .exe (if installed), and configured which loads the installer. I realise this isn't perfect since sometimes installers & uninstalls are separate .exe's, so it may not work for both. Just wanted to throw that out there incase it was useful. Cheers,
  2. Hi there, Thanks for the great question. LaunchBox does not support regional variations of a single platform, so both SNES and Super Famicom games will always be scraped as the SNES. That said, what you can do is create 2 auto-populated playlists that are embedded under the SNES platform, one that filters for Japanese games (indicating the Super Famicom) and the other filtering US region games (indicating the SNES). Just right-click on the SNES platform and select Add > New Playlist From there, you can go to the Auto-Populate tab, and you'll want to filter on the games region. I realise it might not be exactly what you're looking for, but hopefully, it's a suitable workaround. Let me know how you get on
  3. Hi There, Thanks for the question. If you navigate to Options > Gameplay > Game Startup you'll see an option for Minimum Startup Screen Display Time. You can adjust this value to control how long the startup screen is displaying before switching over to your game. Let me know if that gets you sorted. Cheers,
  4. Hi there, Thanks for reporting this, would it be possible to elaborate on this, in particular any steps taken to reliably reproduce this error? If you can let us know how to reproduce it we'll do our best to advise further. Regards,
  5. Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, there's no way to have it automatically filter out certain file types based on it's format during the import. The only way currently would be to manually delete them during the final summary wizard. One thing that springs to mind though,is what if you just dragged and dropped the .xex files into LaunchBox? That was it only creates a single entry with that file, and assuming that file is what launches the game things should work. It may not correctly match the imports to a game in the database (depending how they are named), but just wanted to throw that suggestion out there. Let me know how you get on
  6. Thanks for the update folks, glad to hear the database part is working correctly. Yes, right now it won't auto-configure retroarch and such, but there's the possibility to add that in the future. That said, there are a ton of systems right now that we have in the database and not all have configurations for RetroArch, some require you set them up yourself. I believe the Bandai Vision 8000 needs to be run through MAME, though haven't tested this myself yet. Will let y'all know when more systems are ready! 😊
  7. Hi @werter82 thanks for reporting this. Would you be able to confirm a bit more about where you are seeing this error and any steps taken to reliably reproduce it? I notice you're also on 13.19 beta-3, if possible would you be able to reporting on our beta thread (which I've attached below), that way we can if it is an issue with the latest beta, try and address it before release. Cheers,

  9. Hi Folks, For anyone experiencing this issue, to rule out anything that may have been fixed in the most recent release, can you please try updating to the 13.19 beta that is ongoing If you are still experiencing the same issue on the latest beta, please add it to the beta thread so we can try to narrow things down. Cheers,
  10. Hi there, Thanks for the great question! If you’re using the import wizard, during the final stage of the import—where it presents all the files it’s going to import—you can actually remove items from that list by simply clicking on them and pressing the Delete or Backspace key. This way, you can trim out any unrelated files and ensure that only the necessary file is imported to launch the game (I’m assuming in this case, that would be the .xex file). For .iso files, since they are single files, LaunchBox should only be importing that one file. You can even use the auto-ROM import feature with .iso files—this is how I currently have Xbox 360 configured. Hope that helps! Let us know how you get on. Cheers,
  11. I posted an update about this last week, and then realised I'd posted to the wrong thread 🤦 Sorry about that, reposting my message below: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Folks, I wanted to provide a quick update on this thread. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on a new method for adding platforms to the database. Previously, this process was quite manual and rigid, requiring direct database edits. However, we’ve been investing in a more streamlined front-end interface that allows for quicker and easier additions. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been testing this new system, and we just implemented a new platform using it as a trial run. That platform is the Bandai Super Vision 8000 šŸ”— Games Database Link It would be great if anyone could test adding this new platform to your build, as well as contributing some information and games to the database. This will help confirm that the new system is working as expected. If everything checks out, we’ll be in a great position to start adding platforms much more quickly, eliminating the bottleneck that previously slowed our progress. Please let me know if you have any feedback on the new system. Hopefully, we’re on track to start adding many of the long-standing requested platforms soon! Cheers,
  12. @MrDeKat thanks so much for testing and for this information. I realised though I've posted this to the wrong thread 🤦 I mean't to add this to: Let's follow up on that thread. Apologies for the confusion there Btw, regarding the platform icon, that has been added to the app and so will be available in a future update
  13. Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, discussions related to distributing or linking to copyrighted material, such as ROMs, are strictly prohibited on this forum. The expectation is that any games used with LaunchBox have been acquired through legal means. Apologies that we can’t be of more help on this. I’ll be closing this thread for now but leaving it up for future readers. Cheers,

  15. Hi @erling1000 Thanks for the great question! You absolutely can do this. When you edit a platform (either right click > edit or by going to Tools > Manage Platforms and double-clicking on one, you’ll see a field called Sort Title. Whatever value you enter in that field will determine the sorting order for your platforms. For example, if you want all Nintendo consoles to be ordered chronologically, you can input values like Nintendo Console 1, 2, 3, or Nintendo Handheld 1, 2, 3. This Sort Title field also exists for playlists, allowing you to set a custom sort order that isn’t strictly alphabetical. Hope that helps! Let us know how you get on. Cheers,
  16. Hi there, thanks for the question: The first message is a standard browser warning for less commonly downloaded files. This is normal, and you just to confirm if it asks for any confirmation to proceed. The second message happens because .crdownload files are incomplete downloads. This usually means the download was interrupted. Check your browser’s Downloads section to resume or restart the download. Make sure your internet is stable and temporarily disable antivirus if it’s blocking the file. Once complete, the .crdownload file will convert to the correct .exe format, which you can use to install LaunchBox. Let us know how you get on.
  17. Hi there, thanks for reporting this. This sounds like it's caused by the migration to .NET 9 (previously were using .NET 6.0). If you are using a custom theme, you'll want to make sure to use the Theme Manager to update them to the latest version of your theme. Please check out the original post on our 13.19 beta thread for more details. I've linked it below. If that still doesn't make it work, it would be great if you can report your issue on that beta thread so we can look into it for future beta revisions Cheers,
  18. Hi there, Thanks for your question! The factor that determines whether a game is recognized as having achievements is the ā€œscrape asā€ value for the platform. When you edit a platform, the ā€œscrape asā€ value must match the corresponding platform on the RetroAchievements site. For example, if you’re scraping the Sega CD platform as Sega Genesis, it will attempt to match games under Sega Genesis on RetroAchievements. Since these classifications don’t align, it won’t find the correct matches. In your case, I’d recommend ensuring that the Sega CD platform is still set to scrape as Sega CD. This will allow achievement badges to display correctly. If you’d like to group Sega CD games under Sega Genesis, I suggest creating a custom playlist that automatically populates games from both Sega CD and Genesis. You can then embed this playlist within your platform categories. I hope that helps clarify things! Let me know how it works out or if you have any other questions.

  24. Hi there, To hide the mouse pointer from showing up in Big Box, you'll want to go to the System Menu, then Options > Mouse and either turn on Enable Mouse, or if you still want to retain mouse usage you can turn on Hide Mouse Cursor when Not in Use or Disable Mouse Cursor Across All Apps For the notifications, those are notifications specific to RetroArch. You'll need to go into RetroArch Settings > User Interface > On-Screen Notifications and should be able to turn off various ones from there. Cheers,
  25. Hi there, Sorry for the issues here, please double-check check the email hasn’t ended up in your mail client's spam folder since this can sometimes happen.
