  1. I'm doubtful of this, but if that's true, it could really help me pinpoint it. Can you explain why you think they're related, @SpaceMidget75?
  2. The problem with that method is it doesn't allow users to search for X AND (Y OR Z) or similar, unless I'm missing something. I did consider doing that, but that doesn't cut it (it's worse than what we have now).
  3. Not following this. Can you explain?
  4. This should be fixed in the next beta.
  5. Yeah, being a developer I tend to want to lean towards allowing all possibilities, but I still think that those screenshots from the link are gonna be way too much of a barrier to entry for average LaunchBox users. So I don't consider that a good solution. The good news here is that Developer and Publisher share a unique connection between those two fields, in that companies can be either a developer, a publisher, or both, and that is the reason why the developer/publisher thing is unique. I'm sure we could come up with other complicated scenarios, but again, I don't think it would be smart to make it that complicated.
  6. Quick update guys, sorry I've been distant for the last couple of days. I'm knee-deep in development on the final playlist pieces: sorting options and automatic playlists for arcade divisions. I have both working currently but I still need to go back through and clean some things up and work on performance yet a bit. I should have a new beta out for you guys some time tomorrow. I haven't been through the thread yet because I'm still focusing on development, but I should be able to catch up here tomorrow as well. Thanks all!
  7. Beta 10 is out now guys; Big Box now supports adding and removing games from playlists via the game details screen. I'm also really hoping (once again) that I've fixed the side bar sorting bug, so let me know. Next I'm going to get back to the arcade playlists.
  8. I'd still appreciate it if you could, because that will really help me pinpoint the issue. You can check or set the key mappings easily enough under Options > Key Mappings. It's just arrow keys, Enter, and Escape by default for navigation.
  9. Out of curiosity, do you use a game controller? If so, does it still happen if you do everything with the keyboard?
  10. Ah, not currently. Though that is another interesting use case. As previously discussed, I won't be adding a bunch of complicated AND or OR logic to it in an effort to keep it easy to use. What we *could* do to address this particular use case is add a field for "Developer or Publisher".
  11. Thanks @Wattoo; integrated for the next beta.
  12. Ah, yeah, that's worth ticketing. Good find. I don't think I've run into the same thing for my ScummVM games, but we'll need to get it fixed.
  13. Yes, as stated previously I just fixed this for the next beta.
  14. Yeah, I think I'm convinced.
  15. The codec pack shouldn't make any difference at all when using VLC, because it doesn't use the system's codecs. Upgrading video drivers is always a good idea.
  16. The IDs in the titles are coming from arranging by games database ID. We do have a bug in the latest release I think where the titles aren't always updating when they should be and are being cached for too long (such as when you change the arrange by or hide or show versions). You can get around it by refreshing all images, but that's of course not ideal.
  17. This particular issue is probably caused by "Army Men 2" thinking it matches the existing "Army Men" image. I'll look into this; thanks @Norfair.
  18. So it's back to the drawing board on the sorting issue, sigh. I'll see what I can do for the next beta.
  19. Hmm, that certainly shouldn't be happening and it's the first I'm hearing about it, so it must be some kind of odd fluke with your setup. Do you use Windows Media Player or VLC for the video playback engine?
  20. Odd. Is it still happening after a reboot? Does it only happen with certain DPI scaling settings? Is it happening for all grids with check boxes or just that one? I'm guessing it's because the rows are sized really small, but I'm not sure why that would be.
  21. Thanks @Zombeaver; I haven't fixed that bug yet but it is on my shortlist for before 7.8. I also have getting those vids in the app planned before 7.8 as well. Per the playlist media, I'm tempted to rename the categories so that the existing Platforms categories support both platforms and playlists. Thoughts?
  22. Thanks @ALIE; I see what I did wrong there. I'll fix it for the next beta.
  23. Wow, that's interesting. I'll take a look to see what I can do about that; if that's the case, I'm surprised it hasn't come up before.
  24. No kidding, it's amazing how hard Coverflow type stuff is on hardware. The biggest trick is to use cached and resized images, yup. As neat as it would be to integrate Unity into Big Box, I don't think that would work out so well. It's another huge library, and we'd lose out on all the theming stuff, etc. It's good to see that there's a Blender converter though; that's awesome. So hopefully we can use something like that and use XAML for the animation.
  25. Yup, thanks, I've noted that @hackenbacker. Hopefully we can do something with that soon.
