  1. Hi @knewlife, LaunchBox will do its best to rename the folders to be what they need to be on startup. However, it's not a perfect transition. For example, LaunchBox doesn't currently know whether an image is a "Box - Front" or an "Advertisement Flyer - Front" image, so they'll all end up as box front images. But most of those issues are minor. After loading up this next version, you can of course delete any images/folders that are badly classified if you'd like and then go re-download them easily enough. I'm about ready with the beta, so it should be up very shortly. I do want to remind people though to BACK YOUR STUFF UP BEFORE THIS BETA. I'm testing it over and over and doing my best to make sure nothing bad happens, but since we are doing a tad bit of image reorganization, I want to repeat this just in case. Do keep in mind that only image folders inside the LaunchBox folder will be renamed/reorganized. If you've set custom folders for your platforms, they will not be renamed. The platform configuration will just be updated to point to your custom folder for "Box - Front" images, for example.
  2. Thanks for reporting this, guys. It seems like EmuMovies might be having some trouble. We use their API, so those 404 errors aren't really anything we can do anything about. I know sometimes they're caused by download limits, which we really should have a better error message for. That said, if it's happening for premium members then it's probably just caused by a temporary issue on their end, or there moving media around or something of that nature. If you're getting lots of EmuMovies errors then I'd say it would be probably best to just give it a day and try the next day. Sorry I don't have a better solution for you guys.
  3. Hey all, I apparently put that link out a little bit too early. I shouldn't have shared it that early, so forgive me for that. Bleasby was waiting on me to add a few things before putting the plugin out. I should have a new beta out before the end of the day that adds all the new image types from the LaunchBox Games Database to LaunchBox itself. It also renames some image folders in the process so fair warning that if you're concerned about that, you may want to back up your LaunchBox folder and/or your images folders. Beta should be out soon. :)
  4. Hehehehehehe. Go for it, Brad. I'll give you a budget of $100. :P
  5. Thanks @rmilyard, woke up to this again this morning. I fixed it and then re-coded the Metadata generator to hopefully not have this happen again. :)
  6. Hi @Abobo, I think the best option is to start narrowing it down. Try temporarily disabling your anti-virus to see if that makes any difference. Then try disconnecting your controllers to see if that helps, etc. Only try one thing at a time so that it can be narrowed down. There's no reason for me to believe that duplicate mode would be causing a problem, but as drivers vary it might be worth temporarily disabling that as well to see if that might be causing an issue. If you can help me narrow down the issue, then it will be much easier for me to solve it. Thanks!
  7. I'm actually still seeing this occasionally too. It's pretty rare but I do see it happen on all of my systems from time to time. I've also confirmed that it has nothing to do with the image, because the same image will sometimes show a line and other times not.
  8. Hi @anyany, I actually just fixed this in the 6.2 official release. :)
  9. wallmachine My apologies; I really was not referencing you in the above discussion, though I think some of the community might have interpreted it that way, so I apologize for that. I clarified up above that I wasn't referring to you after I sort of had an "oh crap" moment and realized that some people were interpreting it that way. So I do apologize for that. I will admit that I did get frustrated simply because I don't have any alternative solutions. And other than the Windows 7 thing, nothing really makes sense. At some point I do have to move on unfortunately in order to keep things productive. I really wish I had an alternate solution for you though.
  10. Hi @thedoughboy15, what @SentaiBrad said. Let me know if you would like a refund, no problem. :)
  11. I don't either yet, actually. I'm gonna play with it later this evening to see what I can figure out. Let me know what you guys get going. :)
  12. Good news, everyone! Bleasby just posted a beta version of his new Rocket Launcher plugin for LaunchBox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1a414r06qlymh1x/LaunchBox.plugin?dl=0 This is early so go easy on it. :)
  13. Complaints are one thing; unnecessary and excessive negativity is another, especially when a solution has been provided but is being ignored. I would like to mention though that this discussion actually did *not* stem from any particular recent events in this thread, so don't get me wrong there. But let's move on if we can and stop hijacking the beta testing thread (my fault just as much as anyone else's). :P
  14. Hi @dylstew; I fixed this earlier this morning about 4 or 5 hours ago. Sorry for the trouble; I will be looking into this so it doesn't happen again. :)
  15. Hi @cataclysm67, what version of LaunchBox are you running? This sounds like an issue that people were running into before recent versions where games were not deleted when deleting platforms, and then ended up in your All list without any associated platforms.
  16. Awesome, thanks for the purchase. Did you follow the MAME tutorial?
  17. Don't think I really need to step in too much here but I would hope that everyone here has good intentions and isn't out to create drama or alienate any particular people or products. We have had occasional issues in the past where people will diss on another product (whether it's a competitor or not), and that definitely isn't the kind of environment we want to create here. So I think that's what @Bedwyr was trying to say. We've also on very rare occurrences run into people who seem to have a negative outlook on everything in the world (sometimes LaunchBox, sometimes Hyperspin, sometimes people on the forum, and sometimes everything else), and in that case we have to be careful to quickly stop it before it starts grow and spread. I don't like rules and I don't like enforcing them, nor do I like encroaching on other people. So with that, everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate, and everyone is vital to community, including any and all perspectives. As problems arise we will take care of them, but we don't need to mandate what is or is not appropriate discussion for these forums, outside of eliminating excessive amounts of negativity.
  18. Zeromod said Jason Carr in regards to the video playing in the background, was there a specific emulator that was being used? I noticed that videos were playing in the background for Project64 and ended up removing my video snaps for the time being. However, I never reported that as it looks to be a result of how P64 opens to full screen mode and not a bug in launchbox/bigbox. Very good point! I didn't even think about that so I will confirm what the actual issue is for anyone who reports it. Thank you for clarifying that @Zeromod. :)
  19. Welcome @rmilyard; it should indeed be very easy to get going. Things are intuitive and automatic as much as possible.
  20. To clarify (sorry was running away so I had to respond fast), the GPU has the most significant affect on the performance, followed by the CPU. SSDs can help load times and such, but I have no doubt that the integrated graphics are the biggest issue in that situation (unless of course you're running a CPU that's ancient or something).
  21. Hi Noodles, I have tested this pretty extensively and the video card does have a major effect on the performance for Big Box animations. So yes, integrated graphics are probably at least part of the problem. :)
  22. Hey all, I have gotten one report that VLC video playback in Big Box is still playing in the background occasionally. If anyone is still seeing this in 6.2 and has any insight into when it happens or what might cause it, it'd be great to get your feedback. Thanks guys. :)
  23. Lololololol. Thanks guys. Glad things are running smoothly at long last. :)
  24. Hehehehehe. Also, just put out version 6.2 (yes, another rushed update) to fix a number of bugs. See the change log in the app after upgrading for more details. :) And of course, let me know if anybody has any issues with 6.2! :)
