  1. Thank you @Just001Kim; I have your update in for 11.7-beta-11, which I just put out.
  2. Okay, with the log I was able to determine 100% (or at least I believe it to be 100%) that VLC's Stop method was causing the crashes during the disposal process for videos. I don't really understand why VLC would cause the crash in that case, but as best I can tell, we don't really need to call Stop when disposing videos, so I simply removed the call. Hopefully nothing else will be negatively affected by that, and hopefully it will indeed fix the issue. All I can figure is that VLC didn't like to be told to stop the video in some rare cases (probably due to some kind of a threading conflict). Anyways, 11.7-beta-11 is out now with the hopeful fix.
  3. Beta 11 is out now with the following: New Feature: When editing platforms and changing the platform name, you'll now be prompted to optionally change all the platform folder names, and also optionally migrate all media (from the poll) Some minor changes to VLC video playback that will hopefully fix some random crashes that certain users were getting on occasion We could use some significant testing throughout LaunchBox and Big Box to confirm that the VLC changes don't negatively affect anything. Also, the new Add/Edit Platform window (with the associated batch editing features) could also use some extended testing.
  4. @joshchawks Thanks once again for the testing. I just put out beta 10, which again contains potential fixes and again more logging. Hopefully this will either fix the issue or finally clue me in to the actual problem; there's not much else that could get in the way at this point. Per the Metadata.xml path issue that you're seeing in the logs, I'm not exactly sure where that's coming from. Are you using any plugins? Do you have anything in your LaunchBox\Plugins folder?
  5. As it turns out, I forgot to move the VLC folder back for the previous beta. Beta 10 is out now with the moved VLC folder back to the original location (which should fix the issues with eatkinola's plugins).
  6. Oh, also, I believe I fixed the memory leak you mentioned above as well.
  7. Thanks for all the testing @joshchawks. I added another potential fix and again more logging in 11.7-beta-9. Let me know if you run into any crashes with beta 9.
  8. Beta 9 is out now with the following: Fixed a bug with marquee screens not working correctly (introduced in a previous beta) Fixed the Big Box platform views not switching properly bug (introduced in a previous beta) Translation updates Hopeful fix for very rare crashes caused by disposing VLC videos incorrectly Fix for a potential memory leak in LaunchBox when game details videos are disabled
  9. I just did some tests with standard ROM platforms (where one ROM file = one game) and things seemed to be working correctly. However, systems that are based on MAME are never that simple. That particular feature was built for typical ROM-based platforms, not for MAME-type platforms, so I expect that's why it's not working properly. I don't have Atomiswave, but if I delete some MAME games and then attempt to scan for added ROMs, LaunchBox just tells me that it doesn't find anything. We should probably put in a disclaimer for MAME-based platforms, but simply looking for any unused files is not good enough to make that feature work for MAME-based systems.
  10. Check your Big Box key and controller button bindings to make sure you don't have any duplicate bindings (the same key or button assigned to multiple entries).
  11. @Cauptain @alexposad Thanks guys, I have the translations updated for the next beta, which should be out later today. @Quencless Sorry for the delay on this; I still need to create a translation package for it. Planning to do that here soon.
  12. As best I can tell, this looks like it was a faulty score. I went ahead and removed the score.
  13. I agree that this needs to be cleaned up, though I'm not sure that it can really be done automatically without some incorrect matches getting in there. But yes, this bothers me as well. I think really what we need first is the ability for the community to better manage developers and publishers on the games database website.
  14. Per the issues switching platforms list views, it is an issue that I introduced in a recent beta, apparently (had to do with the theme-specific settings stuff). I have it fixed for the next beta, which should be out later today.
  15. Ugh, didn't think about the fact that that would mess up those plugins. All I did was remove the x64 subfolder, which is not really necessary. I'll put it back into the old location for the next beta. We could use some extra video playback features in LaunchBox (and probably Big Box) now that we have all the new video types and such. I'll add that to the list for the next community poll.
  16. Thanks guys; this has been fixed for the next beta, which should be out later today.
  17. @Tacorachi Any chance you give us a screenshot of what's happening? I'm having trouble understanding exactly what's happening.
  18. I'll look into that video RAM thing; that's one I've never seen or heard of. I did make some additional changes in 11.7-beta-8, which I just put out. Can you test it and see if it happens to fix the crashing issue you were still seeing? I also added some additional logging, so if you can send me a log file if you get a crash, that would be helpful.
  19. Beta 8 is out now with the following: New Premium Feature: Big Box theme-specific options are now available, which allow you to change nearly every setting individually for each theme. They're available under the Big Box system menu; items that have been changed away from global settings values are noted with an asterisk (*). Overridden theme-specific settings are saved as BigBoxSettingsOverrides.xml in the theme folders. Fixed: The "Don't exit DOSBox when exiting games" option was inverted (recently introduced) Fixed: The Big Box PrioritizedPathSelector control was not working properly for priority #3
  20. @Quencless Thank you, that sounds great. In order to translate you'll need to be able to read English fairly well, though; how is your English?
  21. @RedSnake Looking at the code, I don't see how that could be the case. Here's the code I have to do the prioritizations: Edit: Ha, nevermind. I found the bug. You're totally correct. I have it fixed for the next beta release.
  22. Awesome, let's hope that really actually fixes the issue. Very good news.
  23. I see. So the PC just turns off immediately? You may be onto something with the PSU, or it could be an overheating issue, as that can happen in that case as well. That's certainly odd.
  24. Hi @jarek, what version of Windows are you running? For what it's worth, you should never have to unplug your machine due to a software error. You should still be able to either safely shut it down, or, worst case scenario, hold down the power button to turn it off. Regardless, I haven't heard of Big Box completely halting a machine, so I expect that there's something else going on. Can you explain exactly what is happening when you try to launch Big Box?
  25. @jonnieboyrevel @joshchawks I put some fixes into 11.7-beta-7 that I'm hoping will fix the issue (if we're lucky). I still haven't been able to replicate them, but this makes sense as the potential issue. If you guys can upgrade and then try turning the videos back on, I'd appreciate it.
