  1. Thank you guys; I have the translations updated for the next beta (beta 7). It should be out relatively soon, but I'm not sure on a date yet.
  2. Good sleuthing guys. If you would, keep videos off in the sidebar for a while and let us know if you still have the issues. If you end up not getting the problem anymore (after a long period of time), then we'll know that it's video-related and it'll be a lot easier for us to nail down. Thanks again.
  3. That makes sense, since you just copied the files over. All I can figure is that maybe there's a file system permissions issue or something of that nature. Or maybe a download-locked DLL? I really don't know what else it would be.
  4. Good to hear that you're back up and running @KM_Zero; I just wish we could figure out what on earth was going on with your D drive. Hopefully @Middcore's log file will give us a clue.
  5. @jonnieboyrevel @joshchawks Beta 6 is out now with even more logging (unfortunately we're getting closer with the logs we put in previously, but we're not there yet). If you guys can replicate with beta 6 and send those logs over, I'd appreciate it. Thanks for bearing with us.
  6. Alright, well assuming that the copy on your C drive is still working without issues, even with your data, then that should mean that the issue is somehow caused by something else from your old collection (or some kind of weird permissions or drive issue I suppose). Here are a couple of things to try: Try copying your media folders over one at a time to your new collection on drive C. If any one of them introduce the errors, then we'll know that somehow they are the cause, and I can look into why that might be. Turn on debug logging on your old collection on drive D. Go into LaunchBox > Tools > Options > General > Debugging and check the box to enable debug logs. Then fire up Big Box and get the errors with the themes to show up. Then if you can send me the most recent log file in the LaunchBox\Logs folder, I can investigate to see if there's anything of note. If you can turn on debug logging and share a log as well, that would be helpful. Thanks guys.
  7. Beta 6 is out now with the following: Fix for the disappearing game wheel items Fix for custom LaunchBox themes causing large interface delays when loading retro achievements Fixes for various rare error messages
  8. Thanks for the logs guys. We're working on a new beta here; however, we did just fix one thing that may or may not be the cause. Are you guys using a custom LaunchBox theme by chance?
  9. What kind of drive is your drive D? Is it an external by chance? Is it using the exFAT file system?
  10. Wow, that's good info. Now it makes a lot more sense. I'll take a look at the lambda theme to see if there's anything we can do to fix it, thanks.
  11. Hi @lee9876, unfortunately every once in a while registrations can be immediately banned because of a spammer previously using the IP address. You should be fine to use this account if you want, or we can unban the other account, no problem. Feel free to email us at support@unbrokensoftware.com with your other email and we can get it unbanned. Sorry for the trouble.
  12. Yup, that's what would be best to try first. There shouldn't be any issues installing it to your D drive (I do the same thing), but maybe that'll give us some sort of a clue.
  13. Yeah, I know. Still puzzled though because most people aren't running into this issue, and I haven't been able to replicate it. I did; unfortunately they're as expected, so that doesn't appear to be the issue. Can you confirm if installing fresh (without copying your data folder over) still has the same issue? If not, then at least we know it's something in the Data folder somehow.
  14. @joshchawks @jonnieboyrevel We've added some logging in for beta 5 that should hopefully help us to figure this issue out. Can you both update to the latest beta and turn on debug logging under Tools > Options > General > Debugging? That way hopefully we can get this figured out.
  15. Beta 5 is out now with an *actual* fix for the check boxes and some extra logging to help with some other issues. I'll be reviewing the clear logos issue in Big Box. I haven't seen it happen yet myself, but with everyone experiencing it, it should be easy enough to reproduce. My understanding was that @C-Beats fixed this for beta 4. Perhaps we need to review? What version did you test with?
  16. It should be easy enough to copy your data and media folders over. It would be nice to know what's causing it though in the old folder. What I would do first, is copy the LaunchBox\Data folder over from the old folder to the new folder. Be sure to do it while LaunchBox is not running of course. It'll be interesting to know if you start running into issues after doing that or not.
  17. Can you explain this again? I'm not following. Same here. Can you re-explain? Are you getting the hang immediately when you click the "Make Default" button, or when you press "OK" on the Edit dialog?
  18. Thanks all for the reports. Beta 4 is out now with the following: Improvement: LaunchBox now requires a 64-bit version of Windows, which significantly reduces the download and installation sizes. Very, very few users are using a 32-bit version of Windows at this point, so it does not make sense to continue supporting it at the expense of disk space and download sizes. Improvement: The Bulk Edit window will now offer to migrate your game media for you when changing platforms Fixed the issues with the download image checkboxes Fixed the issues with recent and favorite boxes not showing up in Big Box
  19. Okay, so we are dealing with actual crashes here it looks like. If you both would, please open up Event Viewer in Windows. Then open up Windows Logs, then Application on the left. You should see at least one error related to the crash, and there may be more than one for each crash. If you can copy and paste the error text here for any that you have, that might help to figure out exactly what's happening. We'll work through this as best we can and get it figured out. Keep in mind that data backups are automatically taken both when you start up and shut down LaunchBox, so it's pretty much impossible for you to lose all your work, thankfully (outside of hard drive failure). You can always take manual backups of your Data folder too if it gives you some peace of mind.
  20. Okay, does the window get faded? Do you ever see Windows prompt that it's locked up? Or does it just appear to be sitting there not doing anything forever? Edit: If you have a screenshot of it in that situation, that would be helpful.
  21. Okay, keep in mind that it might just be taking a bit. It might come back if you give it a few seconds. Just because Windows fades out the screen doesn't mean that LaunchBox is necessarily locked up; more than likely it's just busy and needs a few seconds. We do our best to eliminate those situations where the interface is locked up while doing something, but we haven't eliminated them all, especially on slower hardware (though I have no idea what kind of hardware or how many games you have). How long are you waiting before giving up on it? I should probably ask these same questions to @jonnieboyrevel as well.
  22. I'll need more details on exactly what is happening in order to help out here. The problem is that often times people think they're having the same issue as someone else, but it ends up being a completely different issue (just like we saw further on up the thread). I would say that your best bet would be to keep your current install, and just install another copy into a different folder. That way you can test if you get the same issues with a new install. If you do, then we know that your install isn't the problem. If you don't, then we know that the issue is somehow with your LaunchBox configuration, data, or media (and you don't have to throw away your setup in the mean time). I can help you narrow it down further at that point.
  23. @Hifihedgehog Unfortunately separating the marquee window out into a completely separate process isn't really feasible (we'd end up doubling the memory requirements, performance would suffer, etc.), and it'd be way too tricky to do all the communication between the two processes. There are solutions out there, though (they're just horribly documented by Microsoft and terribly confusing lol). It's on my list.
  24. Yeah, we could use a standard list of playlist names. The tricky thing though is that there's just so many options, and everyone wants different things, so it's a lot harder to pull off than platforms.
  25. Let us know if unchecking that box fixes the issue. Checking the box to prioritize EmuMovies shouldn't really have anything to do with the issue, so that's only if you prefer EmuMovies images over LaunchBox Games Database images.
