  1. There are plenty of threads about that to be honest; I really have no clue. I don't use a Steam Link. We also primarily use our Discord server for chatting. https://discord.gg/X3Cwsyw
  2. It looks like it was copy and paste data. When you copy font from some sites, the color data will stay, and since the reply box is white with normally dark text, and changes to white text after you submit it, it's hard to notice unless you double check your post. At least in this case.
  3. No problem, I just wanted to let you know they were official more than anything.
  4. Yes and no. It's still under Nintendo Game Boy, I just checked. What is more likely is that you have a platform called Gameboy, as your custom made platforms will show up in there too.
  5. You need LB Premium and EM Premium to download them from within LB, but you can supply video from anywhere manually. LaunchBox is also completely portable, so long as you have all your Roms, emulators and LB on the same hard drive, the paths to the games and emulators will look like this "/../Emulators/", etc. If it assigned a drive letter, you need to edit the paths (with Notepad++) or re-import your stuff while unchecking the media boxes. Letting LB move your games works too, but if you have a MAME rom set, or a system that requires multiple files but those files aren't imported (similar to a MAME or bin/cue set up), LaunchBox will only move the stuff it's importing. So if it requires those other files, then they're still back in their old location. As for the scraping abilities, the names need to be close, but they don't need to match exactly. So in this case, I think you're talking about NES. Some of that should be there, but Japanese specific names we are lacking in a bit. Ignore the Famicom platform. You can search on the Database manually to see if your missing games are there, the names might be slightly different, or may not exist at all. If they don't, you can add to the Database if you'd like, as long as you follow the Database Guidelines.
  6. And obviously if you change cores then the settings wont work anymore. Does the Override method work across different cores @Zombeaver? I've also been using FCEUMM and haven't noticed any issues. The only thing I changed was the aspect ratio (was too skinny for more), and the palette. Also, don't forget to update RetroArch and your cores every once in a while, things will update and change.
  7. Yea, those are on the official LaunchBox channel. There's almost 80 of them or so. I did them and now ETA does them. Someone also posted it up a few posts.
  8. Yea, the XML editing is the fastest method, but if you can't get that to work, re-importing and unchecking the image boxes on the LBGDB and EM screen will import without downloading everything and it will all reattach. ckp's got you covered on how to do multiples though.
  9. I edited the doc with a link. It should have been there from the start, whoops. Open the link, search for the platform you want and then take the shorthand name from the site and search for it on the doc. I also suggest using MAME and not stand alone MESS anymore, I should update the post.
  10. I honestly don't. I forwarded this to Jason though to see if he has any idea himself.
  11. Yea sometimes it's best just to start over. Config files and settings start getting in the way of each other.
  12. Yea, I got turned around, strike Dreamcast from the list, and add it to the list of systems to not emulate in RA. I don't know what I was thinking (lack of Sleep...).
  13. All you do is go in to your ../LaunchBox/Updates folder, sort it by date, and double click the newest exe from the list. Pick your LB location and install on top of it. Everything will remain intact.
  14. That last image, those settings are for sharing folders across networks, it's completely unrelated. Lets try and see if UAC is enabled first. So click your start menu, type in "UAC" (no quotes), and then click on User Accounts. Click on "Change User Account Control Settings", the one with the blue and yellow shield next to it. Drag the slider in the new window all the way down, click yes and do what it asks. If that still doesn't help, follow these directions. Option 1 and 2 might work, but I think the best one is Option 4. So go down to 4, and replace the registry key they show off here with the hard drive you're having troubles with. Follow that all the way through. When you get to the step where you need to enter in your name, it can be one of two or three things, it's kind of complicated. I had the best results when I would put in my Microsoft e-mail, the one that I used to log in to in Windows 10. You linked a Microsoft e-mail to the OS, and I find that that's the best; it seems to be the most overriding identifier for your account. Otherwise, if you didn't or you want to add a second line to be safe, it would be your account name (similar to what they showed off).
  15. Well LaunchBox can't download RetroArch cores or download BIOS and put them in the right location. The first part is impossible as we don't tap in to their servers at all, and the second is illegal for us to do. If your games are launching with black screens, then either the games are corrupt, the bios are corrupt, or they're not named properly in the system folder. The default command line parameters have also changed. I've already updated them, but Jason hasn't gotten to it yet; another thing on the long list. RetroArch isn't the best in every situation, but it is in most situations and is my favorite emulator. PSP is certainly not one of them, but Dreamcast and PS1 are great. PPSSPP for PSP is much better. The RA PSP core is 2 years out of date. I would also not use RA for DOS, MAME (and by extension MESS), PSP and DS. I did tons of tutorials on lots of platforms though, so check them out for some more help. Some are a bit older, and things have changed slightly, but they're all still valid. The Gamepad options in LaunchBox are for only LaunchBox related functions and navigating LB. Big Box has it's own set too. For RetroArch, if you plug in a PS3, PS4 (both need extra software like Input Mapper for PS4), a 360 or Xbox One controller, RetroArch automatically configures it for every system. Other emulators need to be set up. As for the portability, as long as your LB install, games and emulators are all on the same hard drive you can move them all to a new hard drive and be fine. They all need to move together though, and LB wont benefit from the SSD anyways, so it's fine. Keep the folder structure intact and move all of it to the root of a new hard drive.
  16. It's in the options in Big Box. I haven't used it, but it's fairly easy and in-depth like everything else.
  17. Yea, there isn't one in the Audit screen, that's where I think it makes the most sense though.
  18. Which core are you using? Some are better than others, and it may look worse on some. Otherwise, you can use the Game Overrides option. It's like system overrides, or custom configs, but it only applies to that game and happens automatically. I'm not too well versed in the Overrides, but I believe you make your changes, save the games overrides (it needs to be loaded obviously), then move on. Should load up automatically.
  19. You shouldn't have to rename much, if anything, but it depends. So LaunchBox will prefer the LaunchBox games database first, over EmuMovies for metadata and media. When it comes to video, you need both Premiums in order to download from within LB. If you have the video (and this goes for any media), as long as you put it in the right location (../LaunchBox/Video/Insert Platform Name/), and the video is named after the name of the game in LaunchBox or the rom file name, it will automatically attach it's self. You can also edit platforms to look in different locations for media rather than the defaults, but keeping it at the defaults will be much cleaner. There are tons of other topics related to this on the forums too, so searching will help some more as well. As for your cab, if you have an upright cab with an arcade stick, Big Box will be the better option. You should still keep a keyboard and mouse nearby just in case you need to get in to LB, as most of the maintenance and upkeep happens in there. Once it's up and running though, unless something comes up, you shouldn't need to load in to LaunchBox much. When you import your games make sure to uncheck all the media boxes if you want to try and import your games and give it the media you already have. Don't uncheck the LaunchBox Games Database box, but the boxes for the two pages after that. Then, if you want to run your collection through the process: Click on a platform on the left, then click on a game in that platform. Press Ctrl + A to highlight everything, then go to Tools -> Download Metadata and Media. Choose the second option from the multiple choice, and it will update everything that has holes. Not everything exists, but this will update any missing fields. If you'd rather have it pull metadata and media as a replacement or to update it, choose the first option. This will take much longer obviously.
  20. That is telling you that you don't have proper permissions for where ever you have your LB located. Try giving yourself permission over the entire hard drive. Googling your Windows OS version and permissions should give you what you're looking for.
  21. OS Clutter is why I suggest Advanced System Care. I keep saying it, because it's true, that software will help clean and keep your PC clean with it's many many many tools. The IOBit Uninstaller (in the Toolbox) is the best way to remove programs, there is an advanced start up manager, and various other tools. The main scans are the daily things I run, and it works really well. I run Junk Files Cleaner, Shortcuts Fix and Registry Clean daily or every other day. There are other scans I run every once in a while, or just once on a new PC as they don't need to be run often or ever again. Like Internet Boost, System Optimization, and Vulnerability Fix.
  22. The best way to sort by games without box art is to click on the platform, then go to Tools -> Audit. Go over to the Box Images line, or any of those images lines, and sort it so that "0 Images" is on top. There is really no other way to sort by games with no images. The Audit tool is fantastic and you can edit games from here as well.
