  1. Another way to do it would be develop both side by side, keep adding features to present Launchbox and call the alpha Launchbox pro, then time will tell which one is favoured most and give you a lot more breathing room in the development of them.
  2. Well a few posts more and ill be an R2D2, NOT FAIR i want to be a C-3PO
  3. bd000 said I sometimes think my Roomba is trying to kill me. Tripped over it 3 times now. Either the battery is going or the wife wants me out of the picture. A friend of ours has a neighbour who's son has one of those little flying drones with a camera. We were in her garden a few months ago and It came flying up above the fence. He then started shouting hello to us and asked us to wave (he is only about 10). If a 10 year old can get his hands on one, anyone can. I fear one day I will find a naked video of myself on YouTube, because someone happened to fly one past my window after I got out of the shower! well if that happened no one would ever call you camera shy lmao
  4. Jason Carr said Yup, we got them. Apparently there's an issue there though, stupid thing lets people upload but not download...the heck? Anyways, I don't see any inherent issues with the configuration. So, apparently it's a game-specific issue. You can enable DOSBox debugging so you can see all the commands and such in DOSBox, that might help. That way you can check to make sure that the CD is actually mounted. You could also try using a different drive letter for the mount. But if the CD is mounted and the game refuses to identify it, then it could be that the game has some form of copy protection, it's looking in the wrong drive, etc. Unfortunately though, since I don't have that game, I can't really do any troubleshooting myself, so I'm not sure how else to help you out. Maybe if he extracted all the contents from the iso and put into a folder and see if it will install through dosbox that way
  5. Will this addition be part of Launchbox or a seperate launcher, if part of Launchbox have to say it does look fantastic and will it also have the feature for films music or just games?
  6. why not call it M.S.G (Multiple Software Games) Installer
  7. The only technology i dislike at the moment are the small drones the implications for them in the wrong hands are really frightening as they are readily available to buy, these items should be licensed how long will it be before terrorist cells start using them? There small very manouverable and can be used remotely. How long will it be before robots become the same?
  8. Hope you had a good rest bd000 the m2 emulator is running very smoothly with your script. Cheers.
  9. What happens when the ones that run on fossil fuels run out of fossil fuels will we be the fuel lol melted down pot size. Also no terminators in the future the legs would give them away lol.
  10. Hi Jason maybe its picking up game files that were uninstalled because reminants of them are left in the hidden Progam Data folder in Cdrive. To show this folder go to Control Panel, then click on Folder Options, then click on View Tab and scroll to Folder and check the Show Hidden Files and Folders. When you now open you C Drive you will see a faint folder called Program Data, inside this folder there can be remenants of games and software that was previously uninstalled could be in a few different places like Package Cache or some of the folders with numbers and letters. The reason i say this when i installed old windows games and software and couldnt get them to work or no longer needed them i have a habit of putting in the name of the game or software in windows search to see if any files show up and sometimes they do and when you right click on the entry even though you have administrator privilages on your computer, windows sometimes wont let you delete the entry. That is when i use view hidden files and folders in Folder Options and then windows allows me to delete the entries. I did this for one of the emulators i had think it was snes9x (not 100% if it was that emulator) and deleted an entry it had placed there with no ill effect i might add to what ever emulator it was .
  11. have fun with it and wait till they want to put makeup on you or do girly shopping lol

  15. Hi bd000 and thanks for all your help well its launching m2 emu now but it tells me i have files missing see jpg so game wont launch on my end it seems but will launch fine and play if i run through m2 emulator itself thanks for all the help and time youve put into this really appreciated launching the bat also creates an empty nvdata folder in same folder as game bat file
  16. Hi bd000 followed your tutorial to the letter here is bat created @echo off :: Change these to relevant paths (NO QUOTES) set roms=C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\Model 2\ROMS set emu=C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\Model 2\emulator_multicpu.exe ::############################################################### ::############################################################### ::############################################################### :: Change nothing below here. ::############################################################### set batloc=%~dp0 :: Creates a temp filelist of the romset cd /d "%roms%" for /f "delims=" %%f in ('dir /A-D /B /O:GEN') do echo %%~nf>> "%batloc%\filelist.txt" cd /d "%batloc%" :: Creates a temp batch file which serves as the template to be duplicated echo start "Emulator" %emu% %%~n0> template.bat :: Creates a "launcher" batch file for each entry in the filelist mkdir "%batloc%\output" set output=%batloc%\output for /f "usebackq delims=," %%b in (`TYPE filelist.txt`) do copy template.bat "%output%\%%b.bat" del filelist.txt del template.bat :: Moves each batch file to it's own folder cd /d "%output%" for %%m in (*.bat) do ( md "%%~nm" 2>nul move "%%m" "%%~nm" ) :: Finish up msg * Finished! Now rename all folders to the game name. start "" "%output%" this creates the output file i then renamed them to games name and placed them in rom directory of m2 emulator. then i imported one into Launchbox and this is result and here is the bat it created for game start "Emulator" C:\Users\PC\Documents\LaunchBox\Emulators\Model 2\emulator_multicpu.exe %~n0
  17. Hi bd000, created the text file and renamed it winwarks.bat when i click on it i get this it goes straight to add emulator instead of prompting me to enter romset directory and creates the filelist.txt and the usermessage2.vbs oh the desktop, so am stumpted at moment thanking you in advance
  18. bd000 said I have created a script that will create a launch script for each game that can be easily added to LB. Download the zip file and extract it to your desktop (must be on your desktop for the script to work). Then run the script. You will be prompted to enter the romset directory, so open up the folder that contains your (using cps2 as an example) cps2 roms and copy the path from the address bar. Paste this path into the popup generated by the script. You will then be prompted to enter the path to the emulator. Repeat the above step only from your emulator directory. You need the full path for this one, that includes the .exe file. E.g. C:\Emulators\WinKawaks\WinKawaks.exe This script will then create a launch script for each game and put it in its own folder. The next part you need to do manually. Go to your ROM directory and you will see all the new folders. You need to rename each folder to the actual name of the game, not the short name. DO NOT rename the batch files inside them. So the folder named sfa2 (still using cps2 as example) you can rename to Street Fighter Alpha 2 but the .bat file inside that folder must remain sfa2.bat I know this is a tedious task, but it will save you time, trust me. . Now, open LB and go to ' Tools > Import Games > From ROM Files... ' Folder with ROM files to Import: - Point this to your CPS2 ROM directory (that contains all the new folders) Platform for imported ROMs: - Capcom Play System 2 (still using cps2 as example) File Filter: - *.bat (This is important, don't miss it) Emulator for imported ROMs: - ! LEAVE THIS BLANK ! you do not need to do this, the batch file handles this part. . Check the box - Don't import games with the same title... etc Uncheck the box - Search for and download game information... etc Uncheck the box - Search for and download images... etc Check the box - Look in subfolders as well Check the box - Use folder names instead of ROM file names for game titles. . Launch box will then add all the batch files as games and name them as their folder name. That's it your done. All your roms should be imported to LB with the correct names. This might seem complicated at first glance or too much work, but it is actually pretty straight forward, easy and much faster than adding every game individually. I have made it as easy and as automated as I could for you. Oh, you can delete the script.bat from you desktop now, you no longer need it. Unless you plan to use it with a different compatible emulator. Hope this helps someone. Hi bd000 clicked on link for your script but cant find where to download it i am trying to get the M2 emulator to work but when i click on sega model 2 game only the M2 emulator opens and then i have to select the game from the emulator could you give link to the script or if there is another way to launch sega model 2 games have been all over google to no avail to get the games to launch. Thanking you in advance
  19. It is an aspect a lot of gamers would like and to be quite honest some of the games footage that are on the web are good to look at from time to time almost like films in their own way, but i also look at it from a parent perspective as my daughter loves Launchbox but also asks for me to download music videos with words to the songs she is learning and combineing both to me makes sense. A single media field that gamers utilize to their advantage or a parent can use to their advantage.
  20. SentaiBrad said Then why bother. If LaunchBox does do it, then Jason is going to want to make a fleshed out an awesome feature set similar to what we have now. If LB does a bare bones approach then still nothing changes. A lot of gamers like to take video captures of their gameing thus a media field does make sense a place in Launchbox for them to have those gameing videos available so the addition of a media field does make sense, and also that field could also offer the oppertunity of people that want similar to me a place for video or music.
  21. Have to disagree with both of you, would like to see multimedia included but not to the extent of games etc just a dedicated field you can click on under the dropdown in the sidebar Complete, Date added, Date modified, Developer Favourite, Genre, Platform etc say have this field called Media where you can put a list of movie types cartoon fantasy fairies etc the same as the Platform field (nes, snes sega ms-dos etc), then under those categories you could place shortcuts to the films (which i can under platform at moment, but want to keep platform for games directories as is) dont want plex or kodi or any other program as its for a machine im building for my daughter when she clicks on power button on machine it will open up to Launchbox easy for her to navigate windows os hid so she cant do damage to it, by clicking on media category she would be presented with her ripped movies or music, and clicking on platform she would be presented with her games, that simple, oh and have Launchbox have a shutdown key for computer as well. So just a media category no frills or downloading metadata involved and everything under that media category to be invisible from other items like Complete, Date added, Date modified, Developer Favourite, Genre, Platform etc and before anyone says custom filter tried that but doesnt allow for media to be hidden from other categories.
  22. For fullscreen in snes9x use cmd -fullscreen tried it and it works
  23. Hi Jason WOW 4.8 Beta 10 what a difference this beta makes, the above mentioned topic strange bahaviours in closing Launchbox has almost totally dissappeared i can confirm. Close down is now almost instant in the miliseconds in fact the strange up to the left has dissappeared when in full screen mode, or not fullscreen mode. Was heading in the right direction and was centralised in beta's 4.8 Beta 8 and Beta 9 instead of up and left but dissappears in Beta 10, when exiting only see the up and too the left when opening Launchbox but i can live with that as it only last from a half off to a second which is nothing. Well done, and especially well done on the speed in which Launchbox now exits really really super fast. Only thing i now need is a new entry for media in the dropdown where date added platform genre is etc and a shutdown button for shutting down windows on the Launchbox toolbar. I know we always seem to ask a lot from you but you always seem to deliver. So a big big thank you for all the major improvements lately added.
  24. Hi Jason sorry wasnt on it lasts for between 2 to 5 seconds depending on how long your using Launchbox so 2 to 5 seconds exiting. Yes SentaiBrad the one bad thing Microsoft did for windows 7 was aero as its very resource hungry but still nice to have desktop with nice visuals and thats why some emulators automatically switch windows 7 from aero or basic to classic view as they clash with with them. also having an older computer there are some drivers that wont work with windows 8 so am stuck with windows 7.
  25. Well i spoke a bit too soon after playing around with Launchbox with the Basic theme for around 30 mins the results are similar to my first post well call this pic 1 when exiting Launchbox and if we clean images or cache in Launchbox and exit we call this pic 2 but if we use classic themein win 7 we dont get it to that extent except white screen but would have to leave Launchbox on for a few hours to make sure. Saying that wouldnt want my desktop in classic view its like looking at windows 95 lol
