I don't recall seeing this before when upgrading LaunchBox, but I just disabled the damn thing.

Early in this Thread, bd000 mentioned weaponry, etc. I can clearly picture one of those robots with a Gatling-Gun mounted on each side, chasing down criminals and annihilating them, 'if necessary'. Who needs Judge Dredd? Did you see this story from a couple months back? Once those LASER weapons are small enough, they'll be mounted on the 'attack robots'. Bullets are becoming so passé. Sometimes, the insight into future technologies (The Terminator, e.g.) that Sci-Fi writers and Hollywood folks have impresses me. A lot of 'em seem to have "seen it all coming".

Lookin' awesome, Jason! But you're causing me to spend too much time with LaunchBox ('cause it's gettin' so cool), instead of going though my boxes of useless antiques. Clive and bd000, your ideas are pretty damn good, too. I'm glad I purchased the Premium version, and am looking forward to all these slick, new features!

Whilst going through some of my way to numerous boxes of stuff, in a sometimes seemingly futile attempt to 'down-size' all my crap, I came across the hand-held calculator I used in High School: In this photo, it's 'calculating' 2x2=4, and many other things simultaneously. Can your calculator do that? I bet some of you 'whipper-snappers' don't even know what it is.

Click here, Hippyshake. Here's a video that show's many of their robots that were in that other clip, plus others, such as Big Dog. Seeing it regain its balance on ice at about 2 minutes in, is a lot better than I could do when I lived in New England and started slipping on ice.

There's plenty of evil robots in games, but there may be real ones, soon! (From an e-mail I sent out to my distribution list a while ago): I’ve sent out videos from Boston Dynamics in the past, and here’s a new entry, Spot. It won’t be long before these suckers are chasin’ down criminals. This one can throw cinder blocks at ya! This video is longer, a little over 11 minutes, but be sure to at least check-out the robot at the 6-minute mark. Cheetah, the running robot shows-up at about 8 minutes in. There’s a couple other cool ones, too. Sandflea (a smaller robot) can jump onto the roof of one-story buildings from the ground.

I'm currently tackling LIMBO. Mostly a side-scrolling, puzzle, platformish game. I'm liking it, though. It's dark, literally (black, white, and numerous shades of gray, only), but I'm enjoying that difference. Not distracted by super-flashy colors, insane explosions, etc. Pluses for me (the old guy): no time limits, and you can die indefinitely (which is huge, for me) - it just restarts at the last 'checkpoint'.

Thanks, Hippyshake. Yeah, I should probably 'go digital' too, as it certainly takes-up less space. A while back, when I'd by a new DVD, I'd get the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, and give one of the discs to my daughter and son-in-law, who live here in town. Eventually, though, they said I didn't need to give them one of movies anymore, as they pretty much streamed everything. They've done as you and 'gone digital'. I'm a bit 'green' (well, I recycle), and going digital would have a much more positive effect than the physical media, with all it's packaging and what not. But for the media collectoholic, the physical media can be fun, of sorts. I don't buy DVD's too much anymore, though. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime, so I have access to more programming than I could ever watch, but I'd be hard-pressed to give-away my collection now. But, I'm certainly up for 'willing it' to someone.

I'm adding this to the Monkeys forum, 'cause if Jason has a 128-bit brain, which is 16 times more powerful than my 8-bit Nintendo brain, I may be a monkey, and am just not accepting the reality of it!

Hippyshake, I finally got around to capturing the "Volvo in my Closet" thing on 'film' (so to speak). Here's the books full of discs that are 'on display': (SentaiBrad, you may recognize that picture above the shelf thing, since you appear to be an Oregonian. My hometown, Portland). Those goofy little figures all have hair that moves with the music (if they're turned on). Each figure's hair moves a different way. Just some of the many things I own that attest to my immaturity. Those are my rear speakers flanking the shelf. Anyway, those books are all full. The total numbers of discs on that shelf is 4,096. I have many other books that actually are in the closet. Here's what the 'books' look like on the inside: You can see I have the pages numbered, and I use that program I mentioned in another topic, DVD Profiler, to catalog them, etc., so I can actually find a movie. And there you have my "Volvo in the Closet". If I hadn't bought all those movies, I could have bought a very nice Volvo.

Yah, Hippyshake, others mentioned what you noticed, that what was happening on the screen and how he was using the controller didn't add-up.

The plausible consensus in the YouTube comments was that it was an ad for Rise of Planet of the Apes. After all, the video was the property of 20th Century Fox, and had a link to here: http://www.fandango.com/riseoftheplanetoftheapes_135719/movieoverview Also, someone mentioned the chimp was playing Far Cry 2 on a Wii, but at that time Far Cry 2 wasn't available on the Wii, etc., etc. But, given time, the chimp might learn it. No doubt it's smarter then many people out there. Cool idea for an ad, though.

As of this writing (3 May 15 in the am), it's been down since yesterday afternoon, at least. Crap happens. But as you pointed-out, PS4isthefuture, it's awesome how "volunteers" invest much of their personal time to help keep gamers such as us, happy.
