  1. I realize this isn't a LaunchBox issue, but was still hoping someone could gimme some tips. I'm getting this error constantly when I launch Steam: I've set my Modem/Router's (Xfinity Technicolor TC8305C) Firewall Security Level to Low, and forwarded Ports 27000-27050 (TCP & UDP) to my PC's IP Address (10.0.0.4) on the Router. None of that helped, but most likely because I don't know what I'm doing. Any ideas from someone who does know what they're doing? Thanks.
  2. Brad, if only the selected game was animated, and the non-selected ones were static, that wouldn't be much of a performance hit, would it? Or even if just the ones you could see on the screen (not your entire library) were the only animated ones, perhaps that wouldn't be too bad, either.
  3. That'd be a great way to do it, Jason. With your idea, one wouldn't have to edit and mark/clear check-boxes. User friendly, and, I don't know, but hopefully not too much coding involved, either. Bravo!
  4. Actually, I was thinking both, but it sounds as if it may be more work than the 'coolness' would be worth, but that's your call.
  5. When I'm browsing the games on my PS3, some of 'em have a little repeating video-clip (w/sound, sometimes) for the 'icon'. That might be an interesting option for LaunchBox. Naturally, you'd want to be able to select whether you wanted an available video-clip for the game icon, or just the static icon. I dunno, maybe that's a lot of overhead, but with recent hardware power, I believe it's feasible. You could, of course, only display an animation for the selected icon (not all icons on the screen, as that might be "too busy", anyway). I think it could be cool...
  6. My initial thoughts were to just sorta have it as you have the 'Favorite' and/or 'Game Completed' check-boxes in the Edit Game window. Just have a couple of check-boxes called 'Select on Startup', and 'Launch on Startup'. If selected, that'll happen the next time you start LaunchBox, of course.
  7. In the unlikely event this hasn't already been suggested, how about an option to just select, or launch, the last game you played, when you start LaunchBox? I'll often play the same game several times in a row, so this option would be useful for me.
  8. Perhaps I need to get on Steam more often, as this has been out for several months. Oh, well... Hey, there's a Board Game of it, too. As I search more, there seems to be lots of PC games that have Board Game versions...
  9. Well, Derek, this could solve that bordered-monitor thing in a fun way (78" screen, by the way): I'd really like one of these. Dream on, Self... Here's the link for it. You may wanna sit down before you look at the price, though. Due to the 'Exit Doors' and the elevator with nearby fire extinguisher (stairs on the right appear a bit commercial, too), I'm gonna guess he's in some sort of office building. But, I believe John Q. Public can buy one. Maybe here. But, I'm sure you're quite correct as to them being expensive (that Website makes ya call for a price, so ya know it's gonna be crazy) and large. I suspect they'd make that TV's price look like 'chicken-feed'.
  10. Well, there's always this alternative to that crude framework seat...
  11. I do, but I'm not too good at them. One of these days, I'd really like to buy somethin' such as this. Then, I'm sure I'd get into Racing Sims heavily. I can't drive worth a crap with a regular game controller.
  12. Those "down under" eagles are apparently pretty bad-ass. Click here for the evidence. P.S. Eagle emerged unscathed.
  13. If you like deck-building card games, this may be of interest to you. Here's a link to their Website, if ya wanna download the free 'digital version', or just check-out the game: Star Realms The physical card game rated 4.8 stars (outta 5) on Amazon (well over 200 votes - I know, not a lot of votes, but a still a good rating). P.S. The 'digital version' has a nice Tutorial, too.
  14. I thought this was a pretty cool idea. I especially liked the fact that Samsung probably spent their own money to do it. Granted, they can easily afford it, and it may even be valuable advertising/marketing, but I still liked it.
  15. Click here for the article. My favorite highlight: New 3D XPoint technology brings non-volatile memory speeds up to 1,000 times faster than NAND, the most popular non-volatile memory in the marketplace today. And it could be out as soon as next year!
  16. Speakin' of robots, this one (Ex_Machina) looks quite interesting.
  17. Nice. Thanks, DOS76. How do people figure this stuff out? I didn't find those steps hugely intuitive, but fortunately there's always a brainiac out there somewhere that does figure it out. The only draw-back with this procedure, is the cute Asian girl (with the monster breasts) that wants to date me, is gone.
  18. Jason Carr said I'm with you, ps4. Society today, especially American society, gets everything wrong. From parenting, to diet, to healthcare, to security; there is little that is done well. I tend to believe it has something to do with a society run entirely by money, but that's just a hypothesis. Ah, yes! It's all about the money (and always has been). The Illuminati/New World Order. If you think it's not all about the money, you're in denial! Check-out Zeitgeist: The Movie A bit old now, but a great Conspiracy-type movie (there are good sequels, too). The 3rd segment is about finance. A case-in-point (barely): Most people think the Federal Reserve is some sort of money-controlling Federal agency. Not hardly! It's privately owned, and sticks it to us on a regular basis. But that's another story. IMHO, parenting is one of the most important (and difficult (to get it right)) jobs there is. But, in our lame society (however, in the world scheme of things, I suppose our society isn't so bad), that's one of the few jobs where you don't need the slightest bit of qualifications, so, the best losers our society can generate are crankin'-out more and more losers at an alarming rate, and the 'rocket scientists', well, they're crankin'-out 'geniuses' much more slowly. Doh! But, I'll call it quits for now, before I really start ranting. An ornery, ol' cuss such as myself, can easily get on a 'negative roll'.
  19. It's a bit old, but still cool. The fun starts around a minute in. Click here for the video. I used to kayak, but much, much tamer stuff than this. I think most of us would consider these guys suicidal. P.S. Soundtrack: Cracks by Freestylers (featuring Belle Humble)
  20. ps4isthefuture said I have 162 computers builds under my belt but the last 60 or so have been AMD. Whoa, that's an impressive numbers of PC builds, ps4isthefuture! I've probably done that many OS/Software builds, but not even a tenth of that for hardware builds.
  21. This looks intriguing: Fun Facts of initial prototype: 1) Built-in Liquid Cooling 2) High-Bandwidth Memory 3) Intel Core i7-4790K “Devil’s Canyon” Processor 4) Radeon Fury X2 dual-GPU "Fiji" Graphics Card (with a mind-blowing 17 teraflops of processing power) Click here for a video clip (available in HD). The 'outboard' thing at 1'45" (and 2'38") is the power supply.
  22. bd000 said LOL He has one more leg than me! LOL! Lemme guess... In High School they called you "Tripod".
