So far so good!

Could be, although I think people tend to read a lot into TOOL lyrics, probably more than is actually necessary (and I say that as a huge TOOL fan).
-
The funny thing was that the professor wanted to actually hear the songs or watch the movie that people chose (the class was fairly small), and he was this Albert Einstein lookin' dude with crazy white hair going everywhere, so having him listen to TOOL and seeing his reaction to it was pretty great. I'm fairly certain this guy went to Woodstock in his younger days though so he was pretty cool with it. He was one of the few genuinely great professors I had in my college years.

Well I got an A so it worked. I was gonna go with Scarface but it was already taken.

FFS! how the heck do I use commodore 64?????

The "CD" might be referring to the CDTV, I'm not sure. It was essentially a fancy multimedia device though. The CD32 was the one specifically designed for gaming. You should be able to tell what they're for just by looking at file names though, based on the games. In any case, C64, Vic-20, Plus 4, and CD32 (and CDTV for that matter, although I'm not sure why you'd want that) are all separate things.- 58 replies

@dmjohn0x years ago in one of my college courses (Poli Sci major) we had to write a paper on one piece of music or film that we thought described American culture. I used Vicarious

I just got the null reference error but I was on beta 12 (I can't keep up!) so presumably it's a non-issue. I'm updating to the latest now. Does this have any impact on VLC errors in LB? I haven't been on VLC engine in LB for a bit (BB is fine) because it was giving me errors after launching games.

One additional thought - are .AHK files actually associated (always open with) AutoHotkey on your computer? I assumed they would be but it won't work otherwise, not unless you setup the additional application to direct the script to AutoHotkey.exe though command line parameters.
-
Then there's probably a problem with your script(s) which isn't something I can really help with. Maybe @ckp or somebody with more AHK knowledge can assist.
-
Don't direct it to AutoHotkey itself, direct it to the AHK file.
-
Yeah I can't say as this is something I've ever actually done. I've always got a keyboard nearby, whether on my PC or streaming to my Steam Link, so I've never needed to do this. It should be possible though. In order to do this on a game by game basis you'll probably need to use the Additional Application feature. You can right-click on a game in your library, go to Edit, and then go to the Additional Application tab and select "Add Application...". Here you could direct it to an AHK script that will change the buttons as needed, and then check the "Automatically Run Before Main Application Box". This will make the script (or whatever else you add as an application) run just before starting the game/emulator. You could then add another Additional Application that would close/unload the script you started and tell it to "Automatically Run After Main Application". This is predicated on you knowing how to actually write the scripts you need, but it sounds like you already know how to do that.

Well, @lordmonkus and I got up to the last level of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs last night before he disconnected (I was hosting). It was kindof on the laggy side - not a huge issue for a beat em up with an unlimited number of quarters but it'd make certain games/genres basically impossible. I'm curious what could be done to improve the experience and want to do some more testing with it. We were using the FBA core, a different one might be better. I'm also not sure what can be done in terms of diagnostics - even something as simple as a ping indicator would be nice. The fact that everybody has to use the exact same rom dump also kindof complicates things. All that said, it was *still* better than my experience with Kaillera and there was significantly more distance between us in this case. Pretty impressive even if on the preliminary side.
-
Glad you got it sorted! Still not entirely sure what the problem was. 1.4.0 still works fine through LB for me. *shrug*
-
What actually happens when you try to launch it? And when you said it's working outside of Launchbox, is that via 1.4.0 specifically? I notice that's what you're using in the emulator entry but the game is in a 1.2.1 path. That's fine, but I want to verify that when you say "it's working" you're talking about 1.4.0 because that's what your emulator entry is set to use.
-
I go over how to do this in my tutorial video. It's at 37:30 in the video. I would recommend watching the entire video if you haven't. Basically, you're not going to be setting multiple disks in LB - you'll be setting them in FS-UAE itself and saving them as configs which you will import into LB. You add in multiple disks into the swapper and can switch between them while playing by pressing F12, going to "removable media", changing the disk and then continue.

It's delete. I just tested it. You click on one and then hit delete and it clears it.

I figured some of those out - namely F9, F12 and the numpad numbers and 0 - but not all of them. Is there a way to actually rebind any of that stuff? I couldn't figure out how to crop the overscan/scale to fullscreen either. I mean I've got it set in fullscreen mode but it's a kindof smallish image in the center of the screen. High resolution mode doesn't seem to make any difference.- 58 replies

As far as I know it only uses controller inputs. I guess you could always try hitting "Alt" for the combo button and see what happens.
-
That's really bugging me now though - I'll take a look at it tonight. Editing the xml should work in any case.
-
He wants them completely blanked out though; not mapped to anything.
-
I'm sure you probably could. There is some way to do it just through LB though. I'm not home to check at the moment. I remember thinking that you actually couldn't because there's not a visible clear button or anything like that but I remember somebody figuring out what it actually was. What happens if you hover over the fields? Does it show a tooltip?
-
I was thinking it used relative paths. If it doesn't, then yeah. He's not talking about MAME. He's talking about in controller automation in Launchbox. There isn't a button to clear them but there's some way to do it. I thought it was escape or delete or something along those lines.
-
Ah HA! I was half right. Thanks DOS.
-
I know the question's come up before - I was thinking it was ESC. Maybe Delete?
-
I think you can actually press ESC after selecting them in order to clear them. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. That is kindof a UI oddity.
