  1. Very Cool Very Cool Indeed.

seems like everything i can think about is already on the todo list. maybe complete or almost complete clear logo packs could be downloaded and applyed to a theme like @viking huge SilverRing project.

Gotcha. To be honest I have seen that before, but it's been a very long time so I forgot about it. I think the corrupted image cache issue is just a really rare occurrence so I haven't been able to pin it down. I'm glad you're at least squared away for now. I need to remember to suggest that people clear the image cache if that suddenly run into performance issues like that.

The fix seemed to be specifically deleting the folder and letting Bigbox create it from scratch.

This could be because you force repopulated the cache or cleared the cache. I'm not really sure what's going on or what happened, to be honest. There have been zero changes to anything related to the image cache, so I really doubt there's a real problem there.

The only thing I can think of is that VLC was upgraded to 3.06 recently; did you upgrade from 9.3 or a 9.4 beta?

As for all the video playing issues seem to be resolved.  The image cache seemed like it was broken I think that slowed things down because it kept caching even if I forced it, it would go all the way but if I ran it again it would take just as long and not just speed through.  I delted the entire folder and it works again now so at some point I guess it got corrupted.

  4. I tried to say retry a couple of times and now it starts up again.  A lot of weirdness although most of it seems gone now. But the image cache doesn't seem to work.  When i force populating it goes all the way but if I hit it again it goes just as slow like it doesn't work normally when everything is cached it would just speed through in a few seconds.

@ALIE Hmm. Any chance it could be a fluke? Have you tried rebooting?

Seems like it could be but now something truly strange and not sure if it's even related happened.

First I tried rebooting and it seemed to work. I tried switching views fast a few times and it locked up and got laggy.

Strange thing is now after I opened BB again I was tapping away and hits enter just as a new beta notification comes up, it updates and big box opens again very laggy still like the stress i put on it carried on.  But after I exit this time I see this message like the update failed but it still opened.

  6. @Jason CarrHate being the barear of bad news. But the latest Bata made Launchbox completely useless it lags like it has never done not even on my old PC.  It's not just videos but scrolling, picking menus, going back, and the image cache doesn't seem to work I can force populate it over and over.  Hope the video isn't too bad I suck at filming while I using the keyboard apperantly ??

  7. sorry about the late reply been busy appreciate the answers. but now i had the time to sit down and try this again but no luck.

gonna try to provide as much detail as possible .

i have my games and retroarch in different folders and on different drives.

MAME set is 0.205 ROMs (split).

in a separate folder i have MAME 0.199 CHDs (merged) but games that doesn't need them is also black screening so i guess it doesn't matter.

Retroach is 1.7.5 and cores has just been updated.

  8. This is already looking like its gonna beat RL. i love that it just uses fan-art for a game something the database already has a good chunk of instead of having to create folders for each game and having to put the fanart in and renaming it.

pretty sure this has been mentioned and answered but other then fade out. The only thing missing is universal platform specific images for games out anything. And it doesn't seem to randomize fan-art when a game has more then 1 image..

But seriously very impressive first beta and the spinning disc is a nice touch ?.  and i just realized my 2 things was on the upcoming list ?

I really would like fades and bezels myself, I'm using them with RL on all my 100+ systems, the artwork retroHumanoid has done make the whole experience slick and professionnal.

If LB could do the job without RL, that would be great.

I would still need RL for unzipping files I guess, but that's beside the topic.. And Pause menu could be great too, so that it does use the same files as LB and not having the manuals etc twice, once in LB and once in RL

Work well Jason, as allways ;)

LB can already unzip games. (personal opinion) It's just not as clean as Rocketlauncher with the loading screen with the bar and little animation in the corner. Or what you have

  10. For Pause screen if possible I would love to see options like browsing manuals, magazines, cheats, retroachievements, and such. Maybe a jump to emulator settings, load and create save state.

Fade in and out is important and as long as it works and can have information like developer, times played and such. its not catastrophic for me if the developer name screen and such has already been show before it goes away. But I would love to see a custom timer if possible.

Also the ability to have a universal platform fade in and out image folder but also game specific folders like Rocketlauncher can have.

As for Bezels the latest released console i use them for has been GameCube.

Yes he isn't the author unfortunately :/

Yah I love these baggrund Images.

I actually considered finding someone on Feever or another freelance marketplace to make them.  I did find someone a while ago I just couldn't justify using the money.
