Just put out beta 3 guys with the overhauled startup videos. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out: - New Premium Feature: Big Box Startup videos have been overhauled to be run from within Big Box instead of launching VLC directly; videos will now automatically run for the full length of the video unless skipped with a key or button press - New Premium Feature: Big Box now supports random startup videos as well; simply create a LaunchBox\Videos\Startup folder and drop all videos to be randomized inside

Take a look at the latest beta.

Videos play in BIGBOX but not in LAUNCHBOX

From what I saw on the link above it looks like Secret of Evermore shouldn't be too far away.

Death and Return of Superman has been released, yeah it's an odd choice but it's done. Super Ghouls N Ghosts got 2 releases now, one is an OST and it sounds amazing. Contra III has been done as well but not uploaded pre patched yet. Secret of Evermore is a WIP, not sure when we will be seeing it. Keep track of what's going on with MSU-1 scene here https://www.zeldix.net/f45-msu-1-hacking

Is There a Place to Share Lanchbox Configs and Game Libraries?
Lordmonkus replied to tanman201's topic in Noobs
Sharing of game libraries is not allowed due to legal reasons. As for sharing of settings there is nothing against that but at the same time I am not exactly sure what would be shared. -
Unfortunately I cannot tell you the exact site due to forum rules but I can tell you to search for the paradise of emus.

I have no idea. I have just downloaded the games already in .iso format and they always worked.
-
That's strange, I have never run into corrupt PS2 games.
-
Not entirely sure what you are asking.

All the information on what a core wants can be found in the core information screen by loading the core and then the information screen. It shows what file types and the bios files required, it even tells you if your bios are present or missing if they are incorrectly named or incorrect md5 checksum.
-
That sounds like a very weird control issue and not one I have ever run into or heard anyone have before. You either had bad bios files or incompatible disk images with its cores. But anyways, you don't want to use it and I am not even suggesting you use it but it certainly is not buggy. Sure it may have a bug or two in it somewhere like any other software out there but I personally have never encountered any bugs.

Hmm, pressing Escape should just close it with that script, it did for me atleast using version 1.40 of Nestopia. DId you turn off the "Confirm Exit" box in the preferences ?
-
Retroarch is far from buggy but I will admit the UI can be a bit overwhelming, however you can do some very awesome things with it like per game and per emulator controls and shaders if you are into them. I suggested puNES because it is amazingly well done and is 98-99% accurate compared to Nestopia which is around the 83% mark according to Bizhawks accuracy tests http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/NESAccuracyTests.html
-
Not sure what AHK script you were using but I just took a few minutes to test some stuff out and this seems to be working for me. $Esc:: Send, !{F4} Return I used Zelda as my testing game and using the above script closes the emulator generates a save file in the \Nestopia\save folder. I do highly recommend giving puNES a try though, it's such a good NES emulator.
-
Sounds like some sort of conflict with how Launchbox is closing it out but I don't know for certain since I do not use the stand alone Nestopia. If that is the case then you may want to look into an AHK script to close it down in a manner that Nestopia agrees with. And since you said you hate Retroarch have you given puNES or Mesen a try at all ? Both are really top notch NES emulators.

Daphne is in the Arcade Platform Category. You can change the category it shows under by right clicking and editing it and then change the category in the edit window.

These kinds of posts are nothing more than jibberish and spam.

You will be fine with the hardware you have listed but Cemu, Citra and RPCS3 will be pushing the limits if they are usable at all for you. But everything else up to those emulators should be fine.

BigBox menus on vertical (portrait) screen

It would have to be done through a theme and there is a vertical oriented theme here -
It really isn't that far behind but it is behind. Like I said I have and use an 8350 running at 4 GHz for PC gaming and emulation and it does the job quite well. PC gaming is also quite different than emulation because of how emulation actually works and utilizes the CPU. Emulation in the vast majority of cases only uses a single core of a processor and in a couple of cases such as the Dolphin emulator uses 2 and single core performance is most important factor when it comes to emulation speed. As far as I am aware of right now only the PS3 emulator, RPCS3 uses multiple cores effectively because the PS3 itself uses multiple core CPUs. You can overcome some single performance with raw clock speed so for example a 4GHz AMD CPU can perform equally as well as a 3.2 GHz (approx) Intel CPU but if you got equal or very close to equal clock speeds the Intel will perform better. Also keep in mind that with these levels of CPUs you will only see any real issues on the most modern of emulators such as Cemu and RPCS3. Both of those emulators are still in their infancy relatively speaking regardless of any videos showing off a few hand selected games. I have not bothered trying out the RPCS3 emulator just because I have zero interest in it but I have toyed around with Cemu a bit and my 8350 does the jobs and runs most of the games at full speed, Breath of the Wild is the one game I threw at it and does not run at full speed at all on my system. PS2 emulation with PCSX2 and Saturn emulation with Mednafen the 8350 has no problems with them. The bottom line is this. For the mature emulators out there a relatively modern AMD CPU running at or close to 4 GHz will perform perfectly fine. You will only find more benefit with an Intel CPU when it comes to the more cutting edge newer emulators such as Cemu and RPCS3. If you were to be buying a new system and emulation is something you intend on using it for quite a lot and want the best performance definitely buy an Intel based system. That is what I will be doing next year when I build my next system. But if you want to save a few bucks and focus on more the PC side with emulation up to and including PS2, Wii and maybe a dash of Wii U then something like a Ryzen is a great choice.

Yeah if buying them but I believe the OP said he already has them.
