  1. lol yeah that is an awful idea that is for sure. I'm not sure it's such a big deal though, the Genesis GX core is one of the few that supports a couple of different systems with different enough controllers. And the 2 Master System button layout is very good as it is, on an XBox controller it would be A and B by default.
  2. You can ask on the Retroarch forums or their discord server if there is a way to load a remap file using the command line. Or you can go the really long route and make custom remap files on a per game basis but that's very impractical.
  3. None that I can tell. Is it really that big of a deal that your "B" and "C" buttons for the Genesis part of it is the 2 Master System buttons ?
  4. -c is for loading config files, not remaps which are different
  5. https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/wiki/Using-the-command-line I don't see anything about loading a "core remap" file using the command line, only a "config" file.
  6. All I can tell you at this point is with proper bios and good game dumps Mednafen Saturn works and works well. I cannot give you the bios or disk images. I can suggest you take a look at this thread here and read about some of the possible issues and potential solutions.
  7. Ok, so Mednafen is suggested to have a 4 core. One could also make the argument that it is also a very new emulator since that part of Mednafen is less than a year old and could still use some optimization. That is tough to say though since the Saturn is such a complicated beast with it's dual cpu and dual vdp that it will need the raw power. Higan / BSnes is still single core and so is PSX. To scale PSX beyond 2x with good speed use a hardware renderer and that then depends on the video card. Bottom line though is the OP is working on a budget based off their post. So as long as they keep their expectations in check the G4650 would handle most things just fine, just avoid the newer cutting edge emulators. Of course a more expensive and modern i5 / i7 with high clock speeds would be better but you pay a lot more for that. It's always a budget vs expectations question.
  8. Yeah the newer emulators such as Cemu and RPCS3 may be difficult to get running at a suitable speed. Keep in mind these emulators are also very new and have a long ways to go in terms of optimization. That is just massive overkill for emulation purposes. As far as I am aware of only RPCS3 would take advantage of more than 2 core. The vast majority of emulators only use 1 and Dolphin can use 2.
  9. Clock speed and single core performance are the 2 most important things when it comes to a CPU and emulation so it's going to be very good bang for the buck.
  10. Oh by the way, congratulations you just outed yourself as a pirate. That license is a known shared license around the internet.
  11. Saturn games from the paradise are definitely no good with Mednafen, if you did get one to work from there it's a lucky one. The best I can tell you is too look for Saturn dumps from the release group Darkwater and try the "archive". I have dumped my own games using ImgBurn and it worked perfectly.
  12. If you are 100% certain of your bios then you most likely need proper dumps of your games. Just because they work in other Saturn emus that doesn't mean they will work in Mednafen, Mednafen is much pickier about proper dumps of the games.
  13. Do your PS1 games load if just load the game using Retroarch outside of Launchbox ?
  14. No problem and thanks to you i figured out my 1942 issue Not like I will ever play it when I Have the Mame version to play but at least it's working now lol.
  15. Try replacing your Galaxian rom since that fixed my 1942 issue and the Galaxian I went and grabbed to test worked for me.
  16. Ok I replaced my 1942 rom and it's fine now, must have been a busted rom.
  17. Very strange. What version of puNES are you using ? Here's 1942 for me.
  18. Yup, you can see it in the screenshot and it's puNES version 0.100.
  19. Galaxian (Japan) works for me but 1942 is a total mess.
  20. Another "close emulator" script that sends Alt + F4 $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} } vk07sc000:: Send, !{F4} Return
  21. Not sure how Retroarch Mame handles it but the stand alone Mame is no problem at all, no mouse cursor and works great.
  22. PCSX2 is such a finicky emulator that it really is difficult to troubleshoot it sometimes because it really varies from game to game and individual systems. I would suggest watching this video from @SIMPLY AUSTIN on getting it setup and also checking out the wiki page for it for individual settings. http://wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php/Shadow_of_the_Colossus
  23. Now let's keep the rumor stuff out of this. The question about data collection has been asked in the past and Jason / Launchbox does not collect any user data whatsoever.
  24. I have stayed out of the database moderation side of things quite simply because it is something I have no interest in doing but if there is a problem with the way the moderation itself is being handled and you have suggestions on it let me know and I will bring it up to Jason. Do too many people have moderation powers over it or something like that ?
