  1. Main system: AMD 8350 @ 4 GHz, 16 gigs ram, GTX 970. I can run Launchbox with any theme and view with no problems. HTPC: AMD 3800+ @ 2.4 GHz, 2 gigs rame, Radeon 7850 1 gig vram. It runs Launchbox fine with the basic theme and animations turned off and it runs fine.
  2. The explanation was there is the "Scan for added / removed roms" tool. You can do things either way and the way it is offers way more control to the end user which is what makes Launchbox the best frontend out there over everything else.
  3. You aren't getting any push back, you are simply getting explanations about something that is completely unnecessary and I already told you that you can use the scan for added / removed roms tool that is available. You are using Plex and EmulationStation as examples but those are very specific needs programs, they both know exactly what files are used by the system in place. In the case of Plex it knows to look for specific video files and in the case of EmulationStation it is using Libretro cores and again knows specifically what file types it needs. Launchbox is far more open ended and leaves all of that to the end user because different users use different emulators which of course have their own unique way of handling different files. And just for the record, both myself and Dos76 are paying customers as well, we are not paid employees here.
  4. Launchbox gives you the tools to automate a lot if you let it but at the same time gives you total control which is what I want and was the biggest factor in my decision to support and buy Launchbox in the first place.
  5. Well you can have Launchbox scan your roms folder for added or removed roms as well after the fact. As far as "like EmulationStation" is concerned I would much rather have things the way they are over having the frontend arbitrarily decide what it's going to import. I want full control and easy management like the way it is now then to have the frontend deciding just because it finds some new files that I maybe don't want in the list for whatever reason.
  6. But are you talking about for importing roms ? If you are then yeah all you do during the import process depending on how you are importing is just import the the .cue files. If you are simply dragging the files from your file manager into Launchbox to start the importer then you just pick the cue files and nothing else. If you are using the Tools > Import Roms method from with Launchbox when it asks you to browse to your files using the file manager you type *.cue in the search box and only the cue files will show up. Brad uses the 2nd method in his videos, I use the 1st method above to import my stuff. Either way you can use the file managers search function to narrow down the file type with *.cue.
  7. Are you talking about during the import process ? If so then you can have your file manager only show .cue files by typing *.cue in the search or you can only select your .cue files in your file manager and drag them in to import them.
  8. I saw this earlier and checked it out, very impressive graphically from what I saw in 5 minutes of dicking around with it.
  9. I don't use the standalone Mednafen for I do have it so I took a look in the config file (mine was called mednafen-09x.cfg). I noticed the line: ;Automatic load/save state on game load/save. autosave 0 Maybe yours is set to 1, I don't know if this is what would be causing your issue or not but it's worth a look.
  10. I updated the original post with a section at the end with info and the difference between, Merged, Split and Non-Merged rom sets.
  11. Ok weird, I have mine setup the way I posted above, but if your way works too then oh well.
  12. 2 weeks on all 3 or just 1 or 2 of those features ?
  13. The command line parameter is setup wrong. You want to load the core first then the path to the super gameboy rom. Here is mine. -L "cores\bsnes_accuracy_libretro.dll" "H:\Emulation\Roms\Super Nintendo\Super Game Boy 2 (Japan).sfc" --subsystem sgb
  14. Interesting stuff but any estimated time frame on features like bulk edit rom paths, user profiles and custom platforms. I really think that those 3 things would add a lot of to Launchbox. Personally I don't need to bulk edit rom paths and user profiles but I really think those 2 are really wanted by many people. I do really want custom platforms and I know for a fact many people really want them.
  15. Honestly, no idea. Reicast is such a little worked on core and crappy at that, NullDC and Demul are much better choices. Keep in mind even though they are better they aren't great.
  16. That can be fixed, check out this post.
  17. Are your games in cue + bin format ? Mednafens Saturn emulator is more particular over its disk dumps than Yabause and SSF. Games need to be cue + bin, no external audio tracks at all and even then they may not be "proper dumps". If you can, look for dumps from the release group Darkwater. They have pretty much 100% dumps, I don't recall ever running in to a bad dump from them at all.
  18. But if you make the "starting point" the games view where all your systems are like it is currently all you see are your game systems and nothing more unless you choose to go "back". You go back if you want to access the options and other features that you do not want straight forward access from the "systems" and "games" list. To do it the way you are asking for (or at least what I think you are asking for) means you are either now putting extra stuff in the "systems" and "games" menu which you do not want people to access and gets in the way of picking your games. To me going back makes the most sense especially when you can lock users out of the options menu with a simple pin code and you can back up one menu where you can pick different ways of viewing your library and a search function. This menu gives you extra functionality without cluttering up the main "systems" and "games" lists and you don't need to worry about some extra hidden hotkey to bring you into the options.
  19. Ok, maybe im being stupid here but I don't understand what the issue is. I looked at the bitbucket ticket and from what I see there it looks the problem is accidental exiting of games using the controller. But if you bind this to a combo not easily pressed by accident such as "select + start" or "L3 + R3" this really is not a problem at all. If you don't people to access the options and changing settings in BigBox mode put in a pin code and lock it to prevent accidental changes which is essentially the same as the "kiosk mode" suggested earlier.
  20. If you are reading directly from an internal (not external) drive there shouldn't be an issue. Whether the drive is an SSD or standard HD doesn't matter. I don't keep my roms, especially the big disk images compressed and I keep them on an internal drive so I never run into these issues.
  21. Launchbox supports uncompressing roms before loading already.
