  1. There is a lot of potential in the second screen marquee. It needs some basic features to really stand out. A couple things I can think of are being able to turn it off and on per system, and being able to select the image type per system. This would allow you to be able to do things like display backglass images for pinball, marquees for arcade, game maps for rpg's, fan art... the list of things you can do with that second screen could be fantastic... those a just a few quick examples... but it would need to be flexible with what images can be displayed.
  2. I agree... Structural improvements are the most important thing. Voice recognition.
  3. I guess I should clarify... I'm not looking for new toys in Launchbox. Features like voice recognition and social media, etc have no value to me. Most of the stuff I have ever asked for is organization and ease-of-use type stuff. I've watched and lost interest as Big Box has been rebuilt, voice recognition added, and that is all great. I'm glad that people who want those things have them. I bought Launchbox because I wanted to use Launchbox and that is what I look for when I'm following the change logs. I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong by asking for some attention to LB.
  4. Ok, no worries, Jason... I think those fixes for Windows 7 users are probably not visible to a lot of us guys that only use Launchbox and have been seeing a lot of very visible changes in BigBox spanning over quite a few updates, so I think that is probably where some of the misunderstanding lies.
  5. What are the Launchbox features you have been working on this week? I missed that when I was reading up.
  6. Yeah, I feel the same way, unfortunately. Hopefully, it can catch up soon.

    Pinball

Here are two very good sites where you will be able to find everything you need. All the files and info you need are on these sites. It's a little tricky to figure out at first, but again, all the info you need can be found in these two links. http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?act=idx http://vpinball.com/forums/
  8. The marquee screen support is working. Thanks for adding this, it has got my interest. First thing I would really like to see is support for this same thing in Launchbox. I also need to know if there is a way to change the image type that displays as the marquee. For instance, I have my arcade images set up with Lightspeed, in the marquee screen it is showing my title screens. I would like to be able to change that to match my marquee image directory.

    Pinball

Sure... visual pinball 10 is one, and it is amazing.
  10. Thanks for the info, Jason... I'll be following along. I think this idea has a lot of cool possibilities, not only for arcade marquees (which I am excited about) but fan design, and things such as game maps on the second monitor, etc... Keep us updated.
  11. It doesn't look like a complete clear logo set for MAME is possible, so we are left with a big grey box with a tiny Launchbox logo for the games that don't have logos available. It doesn't look very good and with all the theming that has been going on, I was wondering if it was possible to design a different logo as the default, for ones that were missing a logo. Maybe a generic logo for the platform or something like that, but something that would scale nicely and look good as a default. Is this already possible? What file would we use as the default? If not, could this feature be added? Thanks.
  12. I got the email today that mentions the possibility of multi-monitor marquee support being added, and I'm interested in this feature. Is there a thread that has info, or screenshots, anything like that at this point?
  13. Thanks for the info... hopefully, that one is translated someday.
  14. A bit off-topic, but I had always wanted to play the Samurai Shodown RPG, and was wondering if it had ever been fan translated? If so, is MESS the only option?

    Hurry up!

    Nice... sounds pretty good.
  16. It's true... there's been some discussion about it over the last couple pages of this thread.

    Hurry up!

I didn't know they were making this game, but I used to like to play this RPG as a kid. I'm surprised there was enough interest in it to inspire a video game, but I would like to play it.
  18. It sounds good, Antropus. Hope you are able to get it to surface. Good luck with it.
  19. That's good to hear. I was hoping this project would stay alive. Thanks.
  20. Yeah, I'm using the split .xml version. I was afraid that it was going to break Lightspeed. It's a real shame. I was really excited about this project and kind of bummed when Antropus had to quit.

    No Mans Sky

I got it for PC... it was pretty cool, but it does get repetitive very quickly. It would seem like all the random generation stuff would keep it interesting, but most of the game ends up being pretty similar. Overall, I would say it's definitely worth a play.
  22. Is Lightspeed completely broken now that Launchbox is using separate .xml files or are you guys still able to get it working?
  23. Thanks Timekils... I think I need a version from before the time the all killer no filler list was added.
  24. Does anyone happen to have any of the slightly older than latest version of Lightspeed archived?
  25. Hi Jason... as I've been reading over recent changelogs, it feels like development has been mostly aimed at Big Box recently. I was wondering if you could talk about any upcoming big changes for LaunchBox... plans, goals, whatever you like. I was just curious, as a mostly LB desktop user what direction it was headed, etc... Thanks for considering.
