  1. I use Ultrasticks from Ultimarc. They are USB and mappable, so that when you start a game, they instantly switch from 4 to 8 way, 2 way, analog, even diagonal for Q-Bert. They have a slightly soft feel, so if you are a fighting game only guy you may not like them, but otherwise they are amazing. https://www.ultimarc.com/ultrastik_info.html If you are going all out arcade, I recommend the TurboTwist 2 spinner from Groovy Game Gear... they even have a really nice weighted steering small steering wheel you can put on the spinner for pole position type games. http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=86&zenid=n9okemj4lsoa5lg9etec0r0g31 I'm using the original trackball from my X-Arcade which is fine, but those places sell trackballs too if you want one.

I can see that I'm not going to be able to continue this conversation, so I will drop out at this point. My apologies.

Jason, to me this is an important conversation. I appreciate your joining in, but please don't feel like you have to. Thank you for allowing me to talk about something which is important to me, even if it isn't to you. I appreciate it.

    Bezels

So, what this sounds like, to me, is that there is a possibility... and I will use this bezel pack, once again, as an example, but I'm sure that there is other content on the FTP to which this might apply... that there is content, originally intended as a free download, which makes its way to your FTP, after which you would object to it being obtained from there and posted as a free download on this site, or another site. To me, this says that you are claiming exclusive rights to this content once it is uploaded to your FTP?

So, once the content is on your site you would only want it to appear as a free download, after that, on your "main site"? But what I'm asking about is someone posting it on this site, or any other site after they have obtained that free content from you? Would you object to that?

I absolutely do not want to stir up a fight... suggesting that makes me think that you think this is a fight and it is not. I just want to be clear about that. My question is... this free content... content you state, 2 posts above, is not for sale on your site, but that you only charge for use of your system... do you you have any objection to people who have obtained that content (bezels or anything else) from your site, posting it on this site, or any other, once again as a free download?

My point is that you have content on your FTP that was originally intended as a free download and now people are paying "for use of that system". So, my question is... do you have any objection to people re-posting, on this site, or any other, content that was on your FTP, originally intended as a free download before it was collected there, once again for free?

Thanks for jumping in on the discussion. I appreciate it. So, let's use this bezel pack as an example, since this is where the discussion started, but it could apply to any of the content on the FTP. A person compiles this bezel pack, which was all various artists' work that they uploaded here and there and intended it to be a free download for people, and not for sale. The compilation goes on your FTP. Am I able to access that content and download it without giving you money?

A large amount of the stuff on the Emumovies FTP is stuff they have collected from various places... the creator/artist intended it to be a free download. Some things were deposited directly in their FTP by an artist... apparently people who want Emumovies to make money off of their work... and that's different... but a large portion of it was never intended to be sold. Anybody could download some MAME art, put it on a password protected drive and charge people $5 for the "convenience" of downloading it all at once. This would, of course, be considered completely shady, so I really don't understand why Emumovies is considered Ok. There isn't a grey area... there is no difference in the two scenarios.

An incredibly small number of bezels that I made and posted as free downloads are now in that pack and for sale at Emumovies. While it is a very, very small number of bezels, I'm sure there are other contributors in that large pack of art that only intended their work to be a free download. Emumovies has not "respected" the wishes of any of those artists or the hundreds of other artists that intended their work to be free downloads and they now sell it. I don't like how they do business... and now we are "respecting" their website that is exploiting artists and the art they intended as free downloads by not making them available as free downloads. What a mess.
  11. This is pretty cool. I will probably try it out. Since I launch my games with a frontend, I really don't have much need for the Retroarch interface and this seems like it would be faster to navigate.
  12. Looking forward to it... I liked the last King Kong. Did you work on that one as well?
  13. Are most of these mods available in the Steam game workshop?
  14. VP10 is hands down the best version... but the tables are not backward compatible... meaning that you will need VP9, for example, if you still want to play your VP9 tables. Future Pinball is not as good.
  15. Yes... that's where I saw "new quests". I guess they are just saying you can have new quests if you install a mod that gives you new quests... lol.
  16. The Steam store page specifically said "new quests", so I just assumed that was the case. Anyway, just wanted to let people know it was available for free in the Steam library if you had the original games.
  17. You guys may already know about this, but there's a new Skyrim Special Edition on Steam with remastered graphics and new quests, etc... You actually get this game ($40) for free if you have purchased the original Skyrim and all three DLC's. I got the game for free and didn't even know it... it went to my game library with no notification or email or anything. It's been sitting in there for over a week now and I didn't even know it. So, if you have the original game and DLC's, this is just a heads up to check your game library... you may have the remastered version in there at no cost.

    The Movie Topic

I like the old Zatoichi movies too... I think I have seen them all. As for Big Trouble in Little China... enough with the remakes already... lol. The appeal of movies like that is that they are completely unique to the 80's... the combination of culture, budget, recording style, etc will never be duplicated and the remakes just fail every time. I love those movies because they are weird and unique to the time. We saw Dr. Strange last week... I thought it was really good... one of the best Marvel movies, IMO. Marvel Studios seems to be the only one that can get the comic book movies right. The DC and Sony ones seem terrible to me by comparison.
  19. Your HLSL settings look good. I'll use those until the BGFX evolves a bit then switch over. Thanks.
  20. No... not until Antropus updates it.
  21. Thanks... I will definitely take a look at your HLSL settings. I think the BGFX looks like it is going to be really sweet once you can edit and save the settings. I had a setup that I thought looked really great, but of course it wouldn't save. So hopefully, we will be able to do that soon. It will be cool if you can, at some point, mix and match those "effects" into your own "chains".
  22. So, I have this set up and I'm testing the shaders... with the BGFX, the CRT-geom looks good but is there a way to remove the curvature for all games without tweaking the sliders for each game individually? Is there a way to add scanlines without the curvature?
  23. Nice... I just updated my rom set and going to set up MAME and Arcade next. Hoping for a new version of Lightspeed as well. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
  24. Ok, thanks for the reply. I'm definitely interested in checking out the BGFX shaders. Does the Arcade gui allow you to separate your settings by vertical and horizontal games, like MAMEUIFX?
  25. Maybe a suggestion as to what MAME version to use for shaders now that MAMEUIFX is gone?
