  1. Can't wait to get rid of my xbox 360.
  2. I've requested this feature several times... I hope it happens. As much time as people are spending on themes, it would be nice to have a decent looking image for games with missing art.
  3. Right... I think it would make more sense if those various programs added support... it doesn't really seem like something Lightspeed was made to do, and it certainly wouldn't be light speed... but then it has grown quite a lot in the things it can do, so who knows. Seems like bloat to me, but maybe a lot of people would want it. I'm hoping for a full stable release before more is added.
  4. Hey gerazz... it wouldn't depend on Lightspeed, but on whatever is displaying your images, such as Launchbox. Lightspeed just tells Launchbox where the files are at. If that program can display zipped images then you are good to go.
  5. I have two monitors... and yes, google visual pinball 10.
  6. I have my system set up specifically so that I can play pinball and vertical arcade games and then switch back to horizontal simply by rotating the bottom screen. Launchbox doesn't work with this vertical/horiz setup though.
  7. No stress... take your time.
  8. I was looking at the new auditing feature. I would like to be able to use this to rename my files to match the expected database name. I think this feature has been requested a lot before, but I would still like to see it.
  9. Is something set to read only? or maybe in the program files folder where it can't overwrite?
  10. This is a bit off-topic, but has anyone that is using Lightspeed to import wheel logos been able to assemble a 100% complete set? I have a bunch of missing ones in my set, even after filtering games. I had requested a feature for Launchbox to be able to set a generic default logo for missing logos for various platforms, but I don't think it was ever added.
  11. Yeah, it only happened during installation and configuring the paths dialog, and after simply proceeding with the installation again, it was fine... so it was a very minor issue. *edit* Antropus, if we update to a new version, does it still remember our paths and preferences?
  12. Thanks for the heads up... this looks awesome. I need to get a rom patcher... haven't used one in a while.
  13. I tested this out tonight and everything in the setup and exporting process seems to be great. The only small glitch I saw was when Lightspeed was installing, the dialog to select the installation path closed... but as soon as I reopened it, it remained open and worked fine. This also happened when I got to the dialog for setting up all the paths... it closed after the first time it opened... then I reopened it and it worked fine. Other than that, I tried the export to an empty LB database, and then to my regular database with all my other stuff in it and they both seemed flawless. I definitely think the bit of extra time parsing and initial figuring out how to work it (it's pretty close to the old one, actually) is well worth it for the improved program. I like the arcade cabinet graphics. I'm going to go through the exported games in LB and see if I can find any flukes, but it will take a while. Initial impression is everything is good to go! *edit* I just noticed that Argus imported twice... identical. It might be the new 1941... lol.
  14. Happy to see Lightspeed back in action. I will test it out this evening. Thanks.
  15. FF VII, to me, was the game that ushered in the age of games having way too much movie and not enough game. It got a lot worse after that, of course, but I always think of that game as the one that changed things (for the worse, IMO).
  16. Do you happen to have a screenshot of the new controller settings screen you mentioned in your other thread?
  17. I use Ultrasticks from Ultimarc. They are USB and mappable, so that when you start a game, they instantly switch from 4 to 8 way, 2 way, analog, even diagonal for Q-Bert. They have a slightly soft feel, so if you are a fighting game only guy you may not like them, but otherwise they are amazing. https://www.ultimarc.com/ultrastik_info.html If you are going all out arcade, I recommend the TurboTwist 2 spinner from Groovy Game Gear... they even have a really nice weighted steering small steering wheel you can put on the spinner for pole position type games. http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=86&zenid=n9okemj4lsoa5lg9etec0r0g31 I'm using the original trackball from my X-Arcade which is fine, but those places sell trackballs too if you want one.

I can see that I'm not going to be able to continue this conversation, so I will drop out at this point. My apologies.

Jason, to me this is an important conversation. I appreciate your joining in, but please don't feel like you have to. Thank you for allowing me to talk about something which is important to me, even if it isn't to you. I appreciate it.

So, what this sounds like, to me, is that there is a possibility... and I will use this bezel pack, once again, as an example, but I'm sure that there is other content on the FTP to which this might apply... that there is content, originally intended as a free download, which makes its way to your FTP, after which you would object to it being obtained from there and posted as a free download on this site, or another site. To me, this says that you are claiming exclusive rights to this content once it is uploaded to your FTP?

So, once the content is on your site you would only want it to appear as a free download, after that, on your "main site"? But what I'm asking about is someone posting it on this site, or any other site after they have obtained that free content from you? Would you object to that?

I absolutely do not want to stir up a fight... suggesting that makes me think that you think this is a fight and it is not. I just want to be clear about that. My question is... this free content... content you state, 2 posts above, is not for sale on your site, but that you only charge for use of your system... do you you have any objection to people who have obtained that content (bezels or anything else) from your site, posting it on this site, or any other, once again as a free download?

My point is that you have content on your FTP that was originally intended as a free download and now people are paying "for use of that system". So, my question is... do you have any objection to people re-posting, on this site, or any other, content that was on your FTP, originally intended as a free download before it was collected there, once again for free?

Thanks for jumping in on the discussion. I appreciate it. So, let's use this bezel pack as an example, since this is where the discussion started, but it could apply to any of the content on the FTP. A person compiles this bezel pack, which was all various artists' work that they uploaded here and there and intended it to be a free download for people, and not for sale. The compilation goes on your FTP. Am I able to access that content and download it without giving you money?
