  1. Hey guys... I'm getting about 20 emails a day from the new forum... any way to turn this off?
  2. This is probably this #1 modern PC game I am waiting for.
  3. There was an issue about a page ago reported by the Launchbox author, not sure if that is related, but the Lightspeed author hasn't been around for a while. He may be busy with life stuff.
  4. rmilyard said Drybonz said rmilyard said When using current version of Importer with MAMEUIFX .175.1. When I click on Filter I get 0 roms. You may have to re-create your mame -listxml on the options tab. I did and still nothing in filter. It could be the same problem I had earlier where I couldn't get a good list file... I had to delete the whole Lightspeed folder and start fresh with the latest version. I would double-check all your paths (rom path, etc) first to make sure they didn't reset somewhow, though.

  6. Also, wondering if there is a way to "clear" a media selection... for instance, I no longer want titles screenshots to show up as my box art in LB... if I clear the folder path in Lightspeed, re-run it and re-open LB, the title screenshots are still there... even after refreshing the images. Is there another way to do it?
  7. SentaiBrad said You might also need to refresh your cache if you supplied the media too. Brad, you were absolutely right... when the images weren't showing up I jumped the gun and thought it was related to the other problem. My apologies and thanks for the help.
  8. It would also be good if LB recognized the art based on it's rom name, since that is the way most stuff is named in the MAME world. If I drop in a set of art files named after the rom file name (as most are) it isn't recognized.
  9. Jason Carr said Hi @Drybonz, the new Scrape As feature is available under Tools > Manage Platforms. That's where you set the Scrape As value in order to download media. Ok... I found the option and it is working. Thanks for fixing that. I appreciate it.
  10. They had been very slow for me right after the database launch, and for the last couple days have been fast again. The last couple beta downloads were a bit zippier than they had been as well.
  11. Jason Carr said - The new "Scrape As" feature has nothing to do with MAME imports. The way the MAME import process works is that it checks for "MAME" as the emulator; it doesn't care what the name of the platform is. The force MAME check box is how you override this, of course. "Scrape As" only applies when downloading metadata and images from the LaunchBox Games Database and/or EmuMovies. Rocketlauncher is the "emulator" for my arcade games. With the new beta nothing has changed for me... I still get no results for downloading images from the database. I don't see the "force MAME" option you mentioned anywhere in the dialog for downloading images. Am I missing something?
  12. Any shader gurus out there?... lordmonkus?
  13. SentaiBrad said AS far as I read in this thread was that you just need to disable it in the options? I don't know where or what, but that's what I remember reading. Is there a plugins menu? The only plug-ins menu that I know of doesn't have anything in it about that plug-in at all. I'm probing around the vast menus and options now to see if I can find anything. *edit* I found the actual plug-in file in the RL folders and deleted it... this makes RL not launch at all through LB (which fixes the error pop-ups), but you, of course, lose all your RL benefits... this is even with the old RL parameters still set in LB. So, the plugin now needs to be there for RL to work at all, apparently, but with RL there are now errors.
  14. Jason Carr said I have this on my list to look into. It seems like I broke imports for non-MAME arcade systems when I implemented all the new stuff for MAME. I'll look into this before the official release as well to see if it's an easy fix or if it's gonna take significant work. Just to clarify... this is my MAME "Arcade" platform that I have broken into two platforms called "Arcade - Vertical" and "Arcade - Horizontal". I do this because Launchbox doesn't offer two levels of sorting. If I have them named this way, I can separate my vertical and horizontal orientation games and still sort them further to find what I want. So, this is my Arcade platform renamed... that I am trying to "scrape as" Arcade. I only mention this because you said "non-MAME", and I wanted to make sure I was communicating the problem properly. Thanks for looking into it, and I hope it's not a lot of extra work for you.
  15. Jason Carr said Unfortunately I think this is still probably a RL issue; I honestly have no idea how to solve it or where that error is coming from. Hopefully someone else in the community who has more experience with RL can chime in and help you out. That's ok... it was working fine before the plug-in business started, so I just want to disable/remove the plug-in so I can see if that will fix it. If someone can tell me how that works, I appreciate it.
  16. If I set my arcade platforms to "scrape as" Arcade, I get no results when trying to download images from the database. I also tried scrape as Mame. Still no results.
  17. I made a folder for clear/wheel logos, but for some reason they don't seem to want to import. All my other images still import normally. Could it be an issue with the LB image folder restructuring?
  18. kmoney2315 said Hmmmm....very strange, I have yet to see that.I would try posting this issue over on the RL forums and someone will probaly be able to help you out. I posted about it a few days ago, they said it was caused by MAME... when I told them it didn't happen if I launched MAME without RL, they ignored me completely. Anyway... how would I remove the plugin? I suspect this is causing it somehow and want to rule it out.
  19. kmoney2315 said I have not seen any issues with mame ini while using the plugin as of yet and I have been playing several mame games lately. What kind of ini issues are you having and have you set the path to your ini file in the mame module settings in rocketlauncher? This is the error. Never used to happen. If I launch directly from MAME it doesn't happen.
  20. Jason Carr said Hi guys, unfortunately I think we're going to have to wait until after the 6.3 release to tackle these Rocket Launcher issues. I recently started getting MAME .ini error messages when launching MAME games. It doesn't happen when I just use MAME, only when launching with RocketLauncher. At first, I assumed it was a RL problem, but could this be related to the RL plugin in LaunchBox? If so, is it possible, Jason, to completely remove or disable the plugin until you have time to work on it?
  21. With MAMEUIFX, my main MAME, shutting down again, I decided to go ahead and migrate to MAMEUI, which I haven't used for a while. As I was setting it up, I noticed that there are no options to select GLSL shaders (like Lotte's, etc) in the default game options. Does anyone know how that works for MAMEUI? Is it not supported?
  22. Hey man... it was a two-parter... the first part with the bad list file was fixed, for me, by updating to the latest Lightspeed and deleting all the stuff from previous versions. The second part (fixed about two weeks ago, post 338) was to have the converter in the same exact folder as the list. Hope that helps... if not, that's all I got.
  23. I basically said the same thing as Brad and I use and love it... I don't think he was trying to bash it.
  24. kerszr, the best way I can describe it is a launcher for games that adds extra features... such as a pause menu, an easy way to control display of bezel art around your games, input stuff like joytokey and ultramap, and other things. Basically, a way to add stuff that emulators don't already have. It's a pain to set up, but can be useful. You may want to read up on it to see if it offers a specific feature you want before you mess with it.
  25. Ok... just thought I would poke around a bit.
