  1. So it seems you've set up the launchbox plugin in rocketlauncher. Did you import any games into launchbox under the system name Final Burn Alpha? It's just telling you that it's looking for your launchbox xmls in that folder and not finding the one it's looking for.

  2. Ok so first and foremost, do all the roms work in mame? If so, move on to rocketlauncher. You need to set up launchbox as a frontend there. It's not difficult, just make sure you're using the launchbox plugin. After that, audit your roms in RL and launch. If no problems, we've narrowed down the issue to your launchbox configuration. This is only if you want to get Rocketlauncher working. If you're new to this, I might recommend leaving out RL and just dealing with Launchbox. In other words, leave mame as your emulator. Take a screenshot of your mame emulator settings. You can do this by going to tools/manage emulators in launchbox. Post that here. You definitely made one or more missteps along the way but it's hard to figure out based on your description.

  3. I've used all of them mentioned in this thread, and they are all comparable in terms of functionality, at least they were. I think xpadder is the most intuitive, but probably you should stick with what you're using now and don't worry about switching until you run into a particular issue.

  4. You still have to run that exodos setup, and get the conf files and point Rocketlauncher to where you store them. I just took the entire folder of them and put them in the same folder as my dosbox module and pointed RL there. It's pretty awesome being able to keep the entire set zipped and launch that way (I took the actual games out of the exodos folder structure and put them on my rom drive in a folder called Microsoft MS-DOS). The good news is it works the same way for the Win3xO set. However, because the Dosbox module needs to point to a config folder for both... your options are you can create a duplicate of the dosbox module and call it Win3xo or something and point that to the Win3x0 configs... which is what I did to get them both working at the same time, or you could try pasting the win3xo configs in the same folder as a exodos ones... that might work too.

Edit: Unless there is a workaround though (or if they updated the LB database since I imported which was last year), you will have a few problems importing the zips into Launchbox. Because the naming of the exodos set is a little different, launchbox didn't find all of the exodos games and incorrectly matched some as well. Again, the database may be updated, but its something to watch out for.

  5. He's selling other people's work. It's a dick move. If he makes every scrap of artwork and video and wanted to put together LB without a lisence, I'd still feel bad for his "customers", who think they are buying time but really are not because they will be flooding the forums now with questions. But he didn't do that. He's selling what's freely available and beyond any legality (I can almost guarentee he's either providing a lisence or selling dupes of his on the sly) it is still a dick move.

  6. It does because it sends a keyboard input, so it will work exactly as if you pressed the escape key. It's worth noting that I do use a program called Rocketlauncher, which is set to kill an emulator when escape is pressed regardless of what the emulator wants to do... so I've never actually tried pcsx2 without that... meaning if I recall esc might just minimize the emulation and leave the UI up? If that's the case, there may be a setting in pcsx2 that will allow you to close the emulator on esc press... I'm pulling from memory here haha. But as long as esc or some combination of buttons will exit the emulator, you can use a keymapper to bind it to your controller. I use xpadder, but joy2key is another viable option. Maybe even pinnacle but I've never used that one.

  7. Pcsx2 and Dolphin, this never worked for me in either case. I haven't looked too much into it yet, but a quick workaround until it's probably addressed is to keep a keymapper open to a mostly blank profile but bind one of the buttons to esc.

  8. Also note that you're going to want a subscription to emumovies if you don't have one. Lb has its own database but some of the art and all of the videos come from emumovies. So factor that into the budget.

  9. Also, there's plenty of videos up on YouTube for you to see what you're getting. There's no fluff there. I mean people put extra time into their individual setups, but by and large those videos are just bigbox and an occasional theme, which are free and easy to use.

  10. Yeah I can't speak to what launchbox will do in that scenario. Only because launchbox appends the media name as romname - 01. I know that if you have two files romname - 01 and romname - 02, it will pull one or the other randomly. You could use Bulk Rename Utility to easily append the file names in that folder with a - 02 before you copy to be safe.
