  1. I never liked hard ass games. I am a casual gamer and I absolutely hate games that will break my neck. Hmmm.. the most frustrating I can think is maybe Chip and Dale on NES? I remember I played that with a friend and loved the game, but it was hard as sit at some points and never finished it back then. I guess for me it was more like how much I liked the game, rather than how hard it was though. Even if my memory is not good, I can confirm this feeling with Dwarf Fortress that is newer. God I hate that game. Not only it is hard, but it is 100% unfair and does not care one bit about giving a breath of air to the player. I have never managed to advance too much, even if people say it can be really easy, but even if it kicks my ass every time and even if I hate it so much, whenever someone asks me about it, I tell them it is an awesome game. I just can't help myself liking hard games I guess, as long as they are pleasing me. One of the weirdest moments of my gaming was with Wild Guns on SNES. It was so well made and it looked awesome and when I eventually played it with a cousin I beat it.. but this is one of the good games I played, that for some reason I did not enjoy. Maybe it is because when I was a little kid I used to play in an arcade machine Cabal. What an awesome game. I never managed ot beat it, but it felt so awesome... and yet Wild Guns that was better.. didn't reach me I guess. I can also point out Ghosts and Goblins... but honestly even if the game frustrated me, I eventually jsut gave up on it. I am considering that one, a game that never made an impact on me, be it good or bad. I played it from the Arcade version up to the last one being the SNES version that was.. Super... well at least it had super in the title. Really hard ass game, but low motivation for me sadly.
  2. Good to know. I would worry and try other means to see which file was loaded, until I checked a handful of games and it was cue for all, so I just imagined LB loves us and takes care of us. It was ccd too when I used a specific image of a game I ripped and I could not make it work when ripped it in cue-bin format (probably because it has a sub). Although I only tested that one game, so I do not know in general.
  3. Since i doubt Atari games or those handheld Tetris games count, since they do not have an ending, for me it must be Kirby for Gameboy. I was 8 I think, but I can't be sure. This is one of my all time favorite games even up to today and it was a good game to start with when I got the console. Although nothing matches the moment I got a Super Nintendo and played Super Mario All Stars.. 3 awesome games that I loved so much. Ahhhhh... I need to invent that time machine.
  4. The latest version definitely works, with both cue and ccd files. I have all my images 7zipped, so even in that form, the games load normally. By the way, does LaunchBox, after extracting the 7zip, chooses cue/ccd files over bin/iso files? I was worried at first the emulators would open the iso file, instead of the cue or ccd ones, but that never has been the case.
  5. Ok something I want to ask. From what I got from WinUAE, in order to load the WHDLoad games, I need to have an actual WHDLoad installation inside a virtual hard drive, so it can load them, right? I am guessing I should do the same thing for FS-UAE? I am guessing that might be a given. I am currently reading about installation of ClassicWB. It looks so nice, but is it better than the Amiga WB 3.1 I have seen up to now? By better I mean it if plays more games and it faster or at least as fast. XD
  6. Thanks a lot @Bil for pointing out the dev version. I actually was using the latest stable one, since I would not know if the dev one would be working. I will give it a try now. If anything, I still do not know much about how Amiga works, but at least thansk to WinUAE I know a bit more now.
  7. Actually I am using A1200 with AGA, because that was the only one I managed to setup and work with. I honestly do not know how to work with A500 yet, but mostly because I have been testing with LHA files. Seems A500 is meant to be used liek a console. You put in the game and it runs it. With A1200 I managed to actually play games by installing Workbench which I am guessing it is like an OS. Running the games though it with WHDLoad is as easy now as running the "exe" file. It seems to be running quite well and the audio and video hickups seem to happen only when the game loads, not during the actual gameplay. PS: I just realized the title of the thread I opened feels more like I am offering a way to set it up, rather than asking. Think it is possible to change it to a question, so people will not think it is a guide?
  8. What I was doing 100% wrong was thinking that the lha files I was testing with were like the adf and ipf images. For now I am launching the games through a folder I have extracted them in which I use as a virtual HDD. It is so enjoyable to see the whole thing even partially work XD I never before realized that Amiga could be so complicated XD I am weirdly loving it. I kind of feel glad my first OS was DOS XD
  9. Managed to launch it with WinUAE... that moment after hours or trial and error, managing to launch a game!!!! That is full of audio and video clipping XD... but still!
  10. I have been checking some videos about it for like I do not know how many hours now. I better put on my PC glasses @.@ Although sadly with FS-UAE I did not manage anything. Currently just configuring WinUAE. I have to say, I am loving the feeling of the "old pc" I am getting from the whole thing. I would love to see FS-UAE work with LB, although currently I would love to see it work in general. I did not manage to make it even start, but thanks to WinUAE, I am understanding Amiga a bit more.
  11. Lol. I tried the TurboGrafx-CD and saw it asking a cart with just the cdrm option. Now I see what cartridge it wanted. Lmao. I would test MAME with my games, but sadly MAME can't work with the form I have my games as.
  12. Thanks for wanting to help. I hope you soon figure it out and make a video.. and finish your game and also make the power ranger one and keep the forums clean and make videos for all systems and transmute dirt into gold! Definitely no pressure XD
  13. Considering how complicated it looks, I can only imagine. It is really nice to know that a developer is actually paying attention to what is happening around =D Do you maybe know a guide that will let me at least launch the games? From tests I did, the biggest fail was sadly with FS-UAE. I chose that first cause it's UI looked sleek and new age, but sadly I did not manage to make it work. WinUAE kind of worked, but it was with a couple ipf files I tested... which weirdly only worked with the A4000. Some guides around the next point to how to set it up, but they are like preliminary steps (or they look like it). I am currently going through different youtube videos trying to get a visual guide, but considering the best I have found was for Hyperspin, I kind of put it to the side. If I won't find anything, I will watch it and see if I can at least understand how it works.
  14. You are welcome Wolf. Hope you managed to find what you were looking for. I am not sure to be honest about TurboGrafx-CD and if it works, but the reason you can't find it it is because the CDs are listed under PC Engine along with the Japanese games. That means for the TGCD it is "pce", but honestly I have never really tried it to reassure you. I can though be sure that they are considered cdrm images, cause in the "pcecd" hash file, they are mentioned as such. PS: >.> Try the cart if the cdrm does not work, since I do not really know much about MAME.
  15. Hello everyone :D If you want to skip my rambling, I am jsut looking for a way to Emulate Amiga and of course in a way that I will be able to connect it to LaunchBox eventually. All my life I hear about Amiga and how awesome it was in the past. I never seen it myself and if anything my first PC contact was with a 386 and my first PC a 486 @33MHz. Great times, great games and lots of frustration, in a good way always. Thanks to LaunchBox I have been looking through youtube tons of videos of old consoles, which I did not know that even existed and finally reached Amiga. Holy nostalgia! From videos I have seen it looks awesome. I am guessing back then it would blow my mind to see one, but even now it actually did. Now to the emulation. It seems there are three file times, which is the ADF, which is I am understanding an image to the original disk, the IPF, which exists so if the disk had a custom software in it, it will be preserved and LHA, which is a compressed archived image. The way I am understanding this is ADF-ISO / IPF-CCD / LHA-CSO, or at least something alike. Which is supposed to be the best to use? The way I see it, it should be IPF, but then again I know nothing about the emulation if Amiga. Also when it comes to Kickstart, it seems in videos and guides A500 keeps being suggested. After reading though for a while, it seems that A4000 is the only one that support AGA games. I doubt just because it feels logical to me, A4000 is the best one to use, but I am guessing that should be the one to use for AGA games? Thanks in advance to anyone that will help!
  16. =) I hope it will eventually continue, even if it will be a short story. Makes me wonder what will happen when he will visit that new area. If anything, long story, short story or incomplete, I hope he will have a good ending.
  17. This is why at least I mentioned CD-i. CD-i do compress a bit, but if I remember well CHDs do not compress because they are already in a compressed form? Off topic: Although there can be a merit for me personally to keep even CHDs in at least a zip file, so they will get uncompressed to the temporary folder. Thanks to CADScott I learned how to move my temporary folder to my main SSD disc, which helps with load times when plays games... oh those load times...
  18. I am glad to know @locvez and also thanks for confirming it works for other CHD games too. Have a nice day and enjoy the nostalgia =)
  19. Rather than troll, it is just that some people see hostility from the wrong places. Be it because of mood or because of personality, one person can read the same phrase in a different way. Afar from that opinions always collide, since it is just impossible for everyone in the world to prefer pasta over meat (shame on you). Also it is not drama really, as much as an argument (hopefully a good one). After all arguments that are good, might help people gain something out of it. I mean the answer for the post has been given and in great detail, so the OP and anyone else that will want to know how, will definitely know the answer if they will stumble upon it. But I feel it would be better, if this conversation had it's own thread, rather than this one.
  20. You can't compare MAME "cores" to the RetroArch ones. The reason is that like MAME points out in the majority of the systems it supports, the emulation is not perfect. While in some systems you see this In the majority of the consoles that is supports you see this I am sorry but yo uare sayign that MAME is better than RetroArch with the reason being quantity over quality. RetroArch uses cores of emulators that focus on specific consoles and try their best to emulate the console to perfection. If is of course your choice to choose MAME, so you will not have different emulators, but you can't compare the emulation of MAME with other Emulators. I can agree that maybe in the future MAME will dominate the Emulation. But to use something that itself says it is currently imperfect, over another that uses the cores of emulators that strive for perfection, is not really something I would do.
  21. Actually it looked quite enjoyable, enough to make me want to see what is behind the ladies that tell me that the section is off limits XD I imagine if this game is all you, it is far more than hard. I put together a game in the past with a friend, although that was I think either RPG Maker 95 or maybe 2000. It was fun to start making it and learn how the whole thing works and put together events. In the end it ended really short, since he lost motivation and eventually me too, due to life. Although it was fun, cause we were doing it for ourselves. I am not sure why you are doing this, but I think if you do it, you should be doing it first for yourself, meaning you enjoy what do you. Feeling stressed and tired, can not produce something good for sure. When you rest and let it all out of the window, when you return to whatever you were doing, everything seem better. I do hope a muse will visit you eventually and bring you inspiration. Just remember, except if you are a perfectionist, perfection does not always make things "perfect".
  22. What do you mean dummy roms? For me, I just have them 7zipped in a folder and added in the list like the rest of the games. But instead of -cart, I use -cdrm. At least the CD-i games work normally, so I can't tell about other systems.
  23. I was sitting listening to the opening music until it was over XD Oh dear, it gives such a melancholic and nostalgic feeling. The nonstalgia is probably from some PSX RPG games. The opening of Romancing Saga came to mind while listening. Definitely nice. After playing this I am 100% sure I will want to watch Anime >.> *sighs softly from the nice song* -Edit- Ok I got the ogg error too at the point where he connects the VR googles on the PC. The problem seems to be the game looks for "Town ¦ Star Refuge - Joel Steudler.ogg", but the actual file is missing "¦". Adding that with an extra space let me past that error thankfully. I would be so upset if I could not play more XD -Edit 2- Ok one more sound error. It seems it was missing Move.ogg, if that is supposed to exist. Just duplicated Move1.ogg and renamed it. It happened when I tried to move from the room in the picture below, back to the main lobby room. -Edit 3- I am getting the last error is meant as the end of the line, the blip1.ogg XD Aw well, shame it is not longer! My favorite part from what I have seen, apart from the special avatar people, is this XD Lol, loved not only the reference, but his reaction even more.
  24. Considering people try to find "dirt" in the cleanest places, it is better to keep things clean and safe rather than be sorry later. Thanks a lot Jason =) Either way wolf, better search for separate BIOS files, since not only you will find what you want, but they will work better than anything in a pack. Keep in mind MAME BIOS packs are usually for arcade like machines that require BIOS, rather than consoles.
  25. Sorry for that. I think it is kind of common sense to not link to copyrighted things, so it is definitely my fault for not thinking it. Kind of was thinking of EP as a place with backups for people that already own the consoles. Can you at least edit out the link? It would be better to keep these forums clean. =)
