  1. I'm actually really looking forward to this. I'm a pretty big fan of the basic theme setup with wheel and box art (which hopefully one day will cycle though cart, box, images on its own) and info... But for arcade with the arcade theme videos, I'd like to see just arcade hide everything but the theme video when a game is selected. Maybe dim the wheel and just let the theme video play when selected.
  2. Not as well as I hoped - The issue is when using devreorder - you have to list the inputs you want by name as shown in joy.cpl (so anything emulating an xbox controller will be "Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)" For me, when I open Touchmote and connect both my "lightguns" (wiimotes) they pop up as "XBOX 360..." - and while that would be fine if I was using say a vjoy device and only two xbox controllers - it doesn't keep them slotted correctly if I reset and connect my ps3 or xbox controller since they're also either actually or emulating another xbox 360 device. This script does exactly what I'm looking for except for using that way to name controllers rather than being able to set by a unique device id- the search continues.
  3. That's actually pretty cool to me. I have a limited number of arcade titles, mostly emulate consoles. I enjoy the piecemeal approach so 1.5gb is more than plenty. I almost feel bad trying to be cheap but on the other side, aside from LB premium, I try to upload and give back to the LB database where I can with clear logos.
  4. Am I correct to assume game theme videos requires the emumovies premium subscription? It's a great feature but between the LB database and YouTube, I've thus far pieced together everything for big box without the subscription.
  5. Here is devreorder Thank you for your response, I'll check out your links as well. I'm not a huge fan of the devcon solution as it really breaks the seamlessness of launchbox but as a last ditch and trouble shooting I guess it is work a look. I guess this is just part of the fun if getting a front-end to work seamlessly with everything you want to throw at it!
  6. With more research, I've found a utility on github called "devreorder" which I may try when I get home that may help.
  7. I have a pretty good setup going using launchbox, rocketlauncher and use a dolphin bar with two wii motes, an Xbox 360 controller (wireless) and a ps3 controller using scp toolkit. Consoles work great using Xbox, ps3 wii motes. For arcade it gets tricky using the dolphinbar. With the dolphin bar, I use a program called touchmote which allows me to set profiles for each wiimote, one uses pointer as mouse cursor, the other uses xinput left stick for x and y axis. This allows me to, for light gun games, to use the wii motes. Works great in area 51 for example but is a royal pain to set up (I have to play using mame .175 but mameuifx .174 to assign controls including axis per gun) in settings. Once it's all troubleshot, plays close enough to the arcade without spending money on aim tracks and no wires! I just upgraded my system and finally added the Supermodel emulator for Super Model 3, which was also royal pain to set up controllers but figured it out using the command line and manual changes of the ini to set the wii as light gun for the likes of Jurassic Park. The issue I run into, is that there are times when I have the controllers come in out of order (say joy5 connects as joy3) I either have to disconnect and reconnect over and over, or I have to edit all my configuration files to the new xinput(dinput?) slots. Has only one else messed with a controller setup like this? Or heard of utilities that can help manually assigning controller with address x to slot Y anytime they're connected?
  8. @Jason Carr I believe I found a bug playing around and was able to recreate. In big box (I'm using a 360 controller for navigation fyi) when I go back from the platform wheel to open up the options menu, then down to "view play modes" and select any of the 3 options, then back out of that list of games this occurs : I'm not able to back out of the options menu to the main platform selection wheel. Anytime I hit back (b) or select back from the options menu it takes me to the view play modes list of 3. I can select other options but in order to get back to platforms I must exit and reenter. This happens also if using escape or hitting enter on "back" using a keyboard.
  9. I'm thinking of just as I flip through games manually. I use a 360 controller and use "x" to cycle from cart, to box, to 3d cart by tapping it. I'd love to see a slider, say 100ms-1sec that would "hit that X" or perform that cycle action and show off all the art as I'm manually scrolling through games.
  10. @Jason Carr I don't have a second screen for a marquee, but I'm curious, does it flip/scroll images? If so would it be possible to do that in the big box library view to auto flip through cart/box art?
  11. Great job as always Jason. LB has been running smoothly (added a few titles over the last few days), and big box's crashes feel like a thing of the past right now. Had some good downtime the last 3 days to play around and had a blast. This software is a work of art for sure! Keep up the amazing work!
  12. Out of curiosity, what has been causing the background audio thing?
  13. You're the man @Jason Carr. Excited for 6.9! 6.7+ has been the biggest flurry of development I've ever witnessed a d your hard work and dedication to this community is wonderful!
  14. @Jason Carr yup, that's exactly what the cause is. I haven't narrowed it down to how long a pause I need to give it before jumping in and out but it seems too be existent only with platform videos continuing to play once a system is entered and won't stop until BB is exited.
  15. @Jason Carr @higan - no crashes to speak of - but still having the background audio playing in the background. I tried switching back to WMP after the audio got caught in the background looping but even switching to WMP, you can hear it still playing a random snes video's audio in the background. Only seems to start when manually flipping in and out if platforms, I haven't seen it happen when attract mode takes over.
  16. @Maddoc1007 Got it. I was curious as there was another thread dedicated to it that hasn't had a lot of activity and it had been a problem from 6.8 and on . lack of activity is probably good because talking about it on the forum tales time away from actual dev time! @Jason Carr I will say I just updated to the new beta and the WMP shudder start video issue seems to have been resolved. Went through multiple videos and it has vanished!
  17. Downloading new beta now. Has there been much work done on the VLC end of things, I haven't seen a lot of discussion in that thread as of late.
  18. Pretty great. Can't wait to try this out.... My weekend can't come soon enough!
  19. I also had one as well which I posted over there. @higan - when posting VLC related bugs - would it be prudent for us to give you theme information / and how we have our options setup? I don't know if this is necessary or not - but if a uniform list of " I need this to fix bug" can be made maybe it would help out? @Jason Carr - does LB/BB keep a log of how we have options set if indeed this could be helpful with bug reporting for video issues?
  20. Using LB 6.9 beta 4 - Received the below error while watching attract mode cycle though video backgrounds. I went into a setup that had maybe 20 games with videos playing as background - as it scrolled though. System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at (VlcPlayer , IntPtr , IntPtr ) at Meta.Vlc.Wpf.VlcPlayer.VideoDisplayCallback(IntPtr opaque, IntPtr picture) My options are set up as follows in the settings menu - views - Theme CleanBG Games List View - Vertical Clear Logo Wheel Platforms List View - Platforms Wheel with Image, Details, and Video Background fade 30% -videos- VLC selected Game background, platform background and use random game video all checked -transitions- rotate horizontal triangle on anything video related
  21. Hi @higan! Do you want us to repost errors we've received that are in the other thread or just new ones we've come across since you posted? Thanks for your work on this!
  22. First impressions, I love that it's condigurable, time to starting and time between switching. It for me goes into whichever platform you had highlighted when you go inactive and scrolls through that platform's titles. After about 10 games (didn't count, just what it felt like) it backs out and goes into another system. I LOVE that you implemented the pickup and play (I can select whatever game "attracted" me w/o having to go back and find scroll through. For a beta release I say it's working pretty darn flawlessly and if you plan on expanding on this I think you're in the right direction. Only add on suggestion from me would under selectable "time on platform" or "games per platform" to showcase. I will say after snes, it went to dreamcast then dreamcast again then to sega cd. To me (and this may sound counterintuitive) I'm lead to think it is truly random selection which is GREAT! It's perfect because truly random means it will never "attract" in a noticeable pattern, even with the double platform selection every so often. Great work on attract mode! Now the bad news - after sega cd (5th system) it spun to arcade and I got the attached error with VLC :-( It'll get ironed out eventually, but awesome progress, thank you @Jason Carr! System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at (VlcPlayer , IntPtr , IntPtr ) at Meta.Vlc.Wpf.VlcPlayer.VideoDisplayCallback(IntPtr opaque, IntPtr picture)
  23. @Jason Carr very nice! I know attract mode is a huge thing many of us have asked for! Thank you! Downloading now!
  24. Theme is great @niglurion - I really love going into games list view and having the white text broken up with the orange/gold. ? for you - I understand this that the platform images with the "big" images for the systems are if you set the custom fanart background. I'm a fan of random video all the time - so I don't want to set fan-art, but I love the idea of a larger console image than what I currently have. I'm totally xml stuipd - but I did manage to tweak the wheel to curved, and move my clearlogo/art placement around. Are you aware though your creating this if there are lines which can be edited to make the system image / text expand bigger and be moved around or no and this is why you decided to go the (beautiful) custom image backgorund?
