  1. Just wanted to mention how well the duplicate image feature is working. I saved 25GB and just about 60,000 images total. So far I can't tell if any other images have been removed erroneously but so far, seems to work well. I also haven't found any dupes that were not removed. I will let you know if I can find anything. Thank you very much for this one! Long time coming but worth the wait for sure!
  2. The moral of the story is to not switch categories too fast yet. :P Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 3. @Jason Carr Just got Beta 3 and I must say... Holy hell in a handbasket is it SO SO SOOOOO much faster on startup. Not quite as fast as yours on the stream but it's very close so a BIG win there. The only oddity I can find is that when I select a platform category it makes the confirmation chime twice, once when I first hit the button and a second time when it actually switches to the category. Otherwise, the selection is fast and responsive. It also seems to be switching views WAY faster, essentially instantly now. Was that intentional or just a happy side effect? I. I LOVE IT!
  4. LOL! That's my job! Though, someone to test around RL might not be a bad idea. I have been patiently waiting impatiently and I too am quite stoked at the prospects of the new app.
  5. IIRC Nielk1 needed to change some scripts around. You are likely loading proxy before RL but you must load RL before proxy for it to work properly. Beyond that, you are gonna have to know a lot more about RL than one might expect.
  6. I made a guide on the Steam Controller community HUB but it is for an old version and is depricated or I would just post a link here. THing is, in LB you actually do not set your emulator like normal. You set "gamelaunchproxy.exe" as the emulator. From there, you will use the command line interface (CLI) to tell proxy where your actual emulator is and how to boot it up. Something like this... -steam -gameid %gameid% -name "%gamename% (%platformname%)" -fallbackname "%platformname%" -proxy "E:\Emulation\Emulators\MSX\openmsx.exe" -machine Boosted_MSX2+_JP Just remember, you will have to set your LB data directory in the proxy app itself and hit the "Scrape LaunchBox" button so that Proxy can cache all of the names of all your games and platforms.
  7. He could fill me in on RL but I wouldn't use it. Seriously, I can't stand RocketLauncher. I know a lot of people would disagree with that but it's my choice. Have you tried using the proxy without RL? You have to be 100% sure you have a working setup with proxy first and maybe then you should try to complicate it more with RL, just for testing and making sure you have a handle on it.
  8. The last version I have is the same 0.0.5.0 just like the one available on the GitHub. That one unique build IIRC was the last version of 0.0.4.X and all of those modifications got incorporated into 0.0.5.0. I just never use Rocket Launcher so I just don't know how to combine the two. I mean, I have combined several other app launchers along with Proxy at the same time like a per-game configuration manager for PCSX2 without any issue. Then again, I still have that FS-UAE Launcher problem but that is somewhat of a unique scenario. Proxy, I can help with but RL I just have no idea. Backporting the temporary logic to proxy? I wonder how well that would work? I still have that test build of the new app somewhere but I honestly never attempted to use it. IF you do this backporting or if the new thing gets a little farther, I will be sure to make a full on a detailed video tutorial on using it. I have walked a few people through some of the older versions before and in reality, it's not that hard. Wish I could be of more help here but I am somewhat at a loss with RL.
  9. UPDATE2: I figured out exactly what is causing it. It is Avast's CyberCapture feature. It had LB, BB, every update and even Nielk1's proxy app all in the CyberCapture list. I turned this feature off entirely and now it works perfectly fine even when AVAST is still running in the background. There is an option to always block, which is on by default and an option to 'let you decide'. I haven't tried the 'let you decide' option but turning it off worked just fine for me. I guess it is some sort of screen reader thing that also makes a copy of the exe being run and sends it into AVAST so they can manually inspect it. I also suspect this might fix some of my other applications focusing issues that I previously had chalked up to Windows shenanigans. Ah, it's nice to not have to alt-tab or to click on it every single time I want to use BB. I will do a bunch more testing to be 100% positive but it seems to have fixed it! Thanks to all of you guys who helped, THIS is why I love this community so much. Have fun all and happy gaming!
  10. I absolutely will and I will report back!
  11. UPDATE: I found the problem! With @ckp mentioning the running apps I realized I didn't start going through the services themselves doing the same thing. At least for me, it turns out to be AVAST, my antivirus. Even though I do have an exception put in there for my LB/BB directory and even tried turning all the shields off, it still causes focus issues. How many of you guys are using AVAST? If I manually shut down the app, the service is still running and it only stops causing the focus issue if I stop that service. Now it is time for others to try and replicate it. Avast is very common so it's sure worth fixing this if it can be fixed.
  12. @ckp Unfortunately, I have already done that, unfortunately, is a no go there. Also, it's more like resetting Windows than not. It reinstalls all of the operating system's files and is treated like an upgrade. I do know the difference, which is why I said "short of reformatting, I can't think of anything else to do here". Thanks for the tip nonetheless.
  13. That's what I would have though but the only things running are my anti-Virus, MSI afterburner and Steam, all of which I have tried disabling. Plus, since this has become an issue, I have installed the creator's update which is just like doing a Windows reset so OS shenanigans are rather unlikely in my estimation. I wonder if there are any other troubleshooting steps I could perform that might be useful here but short of reformatting, I can't think of anything else to do here. Next stream I will try asking Jason if he can think of anything else I can maybe try but if you can think of anything else, I am open to suggestions.
  14. Hello all you beautiful people! I am having some focusing issues with BB. It started with the 7.9 release or in one of the betas, I can't recall exactly when. What happens is when starting BB, it will never be focused and will require me to click on BB to bring it into focus. I have recorded a very short demo of what it does. This is also an issue every time I quit a game and again, I have to click on BB to bring it back to the foreground. Any ideas? I am running the creators update but this was happening before the update so it should not be to blame here.
  15. This is the first update IO have done to Windows 10 so far that has lasted 48 hours without taking a crap and needing me to format my OS drive. I can't speak too soon about it but it seems to make my BB scroll a little smoother. I did enable game mode for BB and saw no difference at all. Using system explorer to give BB high priority seems to be a much better way to get a little smoother operation. Buddy of mine also installed the creators update and he has had some major crashing issues but I am not convinced it's LB/BB and not just something that went wrong with his OS in general.
  16. I know right? It's like every time I start BB with the intention of trying out new features I find something. Usually, when I start it up I just go to what I want to play and then I play it, nothing more. I guess it's my fault for updating to beta but I just can't wait! Like, EVER! Fun fact, I just updated to the creator's update last night and the whole of BB is just SO much smoother now. Not sure if it was because it had been longer than 90 days since I reinstalled Windows or if the update helped with something else but it's SO nice. Not quite as fast as Jasons collection but man, oh man, it is good for everything to be a little faster.
  17. I wonder if @Nielk1 would agree with that. LOL! Poor guy is always getting me messaging him and saying I broke SOMETHING. Heck, I even broke the clipboard app @jadekitten wrote within about 40 seconds of having it... She had been using it for what, a few years without issues at that point?
  18. @Jason Carr And now this.... I pressed enter twice accidentally while selecting a platform category and heard two confirmation chimes right as this came up. 19. @Jason Carr Sorry, sorry, sorry... I hate being the guy who continually breaks things but I found another thing that is clearly a bug when testing out the platform categories thing and I ended up recording a video for you so you can see exactly how I reproduce it. Seems like if there is any slight delay or lag while switching games to one with a soundtrack, the prioritize soundtracks won't kick in and so I get the video and the soundtrack audio at the same time. On the bright side, platform categories in BB are about twice as fast as it was so a win there.
  20. I absolutely will Jason, thanks again my friend.
  21. @Jason Carr Sorry, for lack of a better place to put this I have decided to go on ahead and place it here. As I briefly mentioned in the stream there are a few issues and such you asked me to spell out for you in the forum, so here I am! I will also be including a few newer ones I have found that might be easy-ish to fix. Because I enjoy the background music feature for ambient arcade sounds, I also have a decent chunk of game soundtracks and videos I would like these to play better with each other. Currently, if background music is enabled and prioritize soundtracks is also enabled, the soundtracks will always fail to play. They don't have to play at the same time but the expected behavior would be to pause the background music, play the soundtrack and the reverse that when you are not focused on a game with a soundtrack. An option to allow background AND soundtracks at the same time would also be great so I can still have my ambient arcade sounds and enjoy my soundtracks as well. Of course, the slow selection of platform categories in BB but you know about that one. There is no equivalent option in LB to prioritize soundtracks over videos so they play the audio at the same time, unlike BB which handles it well enough. This one is a genuine bug that I just found a few minutes ago. With LB in list view, videos do not play at all. That's it, they just refuse to play neither automatically nor when clicked. They will only play if I double click them to make them fullscreen. I only made this post because you asked me to be more specific as to exactly what I meant. If you would still like the video I mentioned I can still do that for you. Right now though, I just didn't feel like recording anything. Thanks, Jason, keep up the great work! Looking forward to the 7.9 release!
  22. Just got this while trying to change the theme to critical zone city hunter, the same one I have been using for months now. I just switched away to check out another theme, I'm sorry launchbox! ;(

I can certainly echo that sentiment. One by one DOS installation is horrendously painful, not that I am averse to a little work for something I want. The W95/W98 collection is IMO certainly lower in priority since the lion's share of those games can still be run with some creative finagling. Maybe we can politely 'nudge' @Jason Carr into adding the few features needed for the DOS and W3X collections to be imported a little easier. I am good at politely nudging people into making stuff, or so it seems. Either that or I just become annoying enough for them cave, that is a real possibility. Anyways, Thanks @eXo for the amazing collections! Stellar work!

What I do is just add the BAT files as roms, the emulator in my case is proxy but you should be able to easily use CMD.exe to launch the BATs. That's it, done. Launchbox can't get anything wrong because the BATs are what is being used, which is correct and expected. If the game you try to launch has not been unpacked yet, it will do it for you just like it should and if it has, it will simply run it. The only hard part was getting the images input. I don't have ANY metadata but I do have all the images. A good friend of mine, @Nielk1 helped me out one afternoon with making a renamer that gives you all the images in the correct folders. From there, all I had to do was decide what set of images went into what folder in LB. Really, all Jason could do to make it easier is make a feature to allow LB to open the bat files directly in the absence of an emulator or exe. Currently, importing windows games only scans, you can't just add whatever you want but like I said, it's super easy to get around. I would offer the renaming utility but I am not the author so it would have to be up to him if it is ok to give it to you. It is also rather slapdash, does the job well but made in like an hour and is only for that one specific operation.
  25. Just saw the video and had to rush here to see if you guys knew, WHOOPIE! Nice to see LB getting some love.
