Thanks, I'm trying this now to update 180 to 182... EDIT: Cool, it worked. Have a full 182 set now. The link @lordmonkus gave to the step by step video did the trick.

I tried EmuLoader. That's very useful to have, thanks! For ultimate mortal combat 3, umk3.zip, i have the rom from the 180 full set which is 21MB, but I see there is an update for umk3.zip in the 181 updates, but it's only 1KB? I guess that's why my umk3 isn't working? How do I update the 180 to have the 181 update since the 181 update can't be the whole game since the file is so small. I'm not sure what I need to do for this one?

also just a note for anyone who may want to try using killer no filler. as of mame 182, the list has several games that are missing files for the 182 version of mame. so far i've had to add more files (new bios and some parent? roms) from the full set to about 10 or so games, but there may be more than that since i haven't tried every one yet. but the list of games seems really good for those who want to trim down their collection. also i tried @lordmonkus new mame 182 audio settings and the audio is great.

if anyone knows of any good ones it's missing please add to this thread

Tried this startup and it's awesome. Only thing is that on my computer, after it's over, it starts again and plays over for another second or two. Is it possible to just end it when the video is over? I tried setting 7 seconds in BB options (since the video is 7 seconds) but that had no effect at all.

@spycat , what is that tool you used to see what a game's file requirements are?

actually i have one last one i can't seem to figure out what is missing. ultimate mortal combat 3, umk3.zip is there a bios required for this one that i may be missing?

all good now! was just a matter of missing files in my new killer no filler set. all thanks to @spycat !

Thanks @spycat .I have those two files in my full set and just added them to the collection of roms that I use. I tried doapp.zip and sfexa.zip and bldyror2.zip but nothing comes up still for that game. Must be missing something for these? rvschool.zip and sfex2p.zip work now! Edit: now i'm guessing i probably need a lot of bios files from my full 180 set, but i don't know which of these files are "bios" files to add to my reduced killer no filler rom set. i'm trying to keep my rom set small, but probably need any other new bios files. Do you know which files int he full set are bios files?

hey @spycat , i guess i'm confused because i have no idea where to get those files you are mentioning? my tps.zip contains only con-1002m.353 i'm not really following the fix.

i don't see the ZN2 and TPS bios roms in the 181 or 182 update packs.

yes i did try 181 also. plus right now i'm getting the 181 to 182 update pack but i don't suspect it will help. so for now i have LB launching most mame games with 182 and the problem ones with 175.

thanks @spycat , but i have the same exact game files and bios files in each mame version. several just don't play with my mame182. also i have the roms updated from a full 180 set to having 181 update on top. seems like several games just don't work with 182? i wonder if anyone has any of these 3 games working with 182? do you?

I recently went from mame 176 to 182 (roms at 181 level). Most games are working own 182, but there are several good games (fighters) that do not work unless I flip them back to using mame 176. Anyone notice this? Here are a couple: sfex2p.zip rvschool.zip doapp.zip

i just did control-a on my mame games and ran Download Metadata and Media wizard. the only thing i unchecked was the image downloads. and i chose the second option to replace/add metadata for missing stuff. it seems to have attached an ID now to my games! so, now i will try doing a mass gameplay screenshot d/l (using the audit tool to find the games LB thinks is missing them) to see if it gets them... well the audit tool didn't help because when i sort on screenshot images, it doesn't have 0 for any. so i tried clicking the "1 image" link for a game i know does not show in LB with a screenshot but instead shows with clear logo. the image that came up is a clear logo and not a screenshot. something still seems messed up with images in LB. so, now i will forget the audit tool and just multi select every mame game i see that is showing only a clear logo so i can mass d/l gameplay screenshots. ok, that worked, but was painful. it would have been a perfect use of the audit tool, but since LB though i had screenshots for everything, that didn't help unfortunately. i'm all good now and thanks for your help!

how can you do that? i think i just didn't select to download any images. i don't remember seeing an option to just get metadata? i am afraid to start over in case i have to redo the many manual game edits i already did since then (but so many still left to do). so to get game IDs for my existing imported mame games is there some way i can do that just using the 'download metadata and media' menu option?

I'm near Sacramento CA. I never had this issue with my mame games that were imported several LB versions back. but just yesterday i deleted all my mame games to import my new killer no filler set in the latest LB and this is where i see the issue of it not using my gameplay screenshots that are indeed in the LB gameplay screenshots folder. i "assume" (but i have no idea really) that it is not filling in the screenshots in bulk mode because none of the recently imported mame game seem to have a LB game id when i edit them manually. so if i edit one manually and just try to download the gameplay screenshots, it will get nothing until i click the search metadata thing to pick a mame arcade game from the drop list which gets me a game id and then it lets me d/l the gameplay screenshots.

no, i don't have a paid emu movies account but i can get the LB download images because i do have a free account. my issue is that i have screenshot images for all my mame games in the gameplay screenshots folder. when i had my huge mame collection in LB, they all showed fine. but the other day i decided to use a new mame (182) and a 181 rom set with just the killer no filler stuff to drastically reduce the size of my mame setup. i use platform name MAME (not arcade) and scrape as Arcade. so, yesterday i deleted ALL of my LB mame games. then i used the import rom wizard to import my new rom set, but chose not to include any LB or emumovies images in the wizard because i already have the images in LB. after the import, i have TONS of games showing me the clear logo and no games seem to have a LB ID when i edit them i look inside my gameplay screenshots LB folder and see they are there but not appearing in LB or even in the edit settings for some reason. so one by one i have been editing each game showing a clear logo in LB to click search metadata, choose the LB arcade game name, click download button, get gameplay screenshots, click download, then click ok and voila the game shows properly with screenshot in LB. if i try to use 'download metadata and media for mass screenshot download for all these games showing only with clear logo, it does nothing, i assume because the games are not identified with a LB ID for some reason?

well i'm not having the 2 clear logo issue where one clear logo goes to box front. i'm just having an issue where LB seems to be ignoring most of my mame game gameplay screenshots until i edit each game one by one to pick an id for the game and download the gameplay screenshot. tons of my games. i'm on the G's now , so, gun smoke, gunforce, hook, etc Edit: i set LB to show image type = screenshots for mame and have gameplay screenshots as highest priority in settings for screenshots.
