  1. That is very weird!
@Kevin_Flynn, I did not include any additional games. All I did was import the games from the original older all killer no filler batch file, launch every game from LB, and added the files that were missing for several of those games to run. Yes, there will be a few duplicate games, because I didn't change anything. But there are only a few and I liked having those as duplicates anyway. I manually deleted some of the puzzle like games and others I don't like, but that was only in my LB. I didn't remove any games from the original batch file. It would be great if this LB community can find some cool games that are not in this set, to make the set even better, and we can keep the batch file updated and improved. My update of the batch file should also work with <=182 mame and rom versions, so it should work even with the mame/rom versions it was originally written and tested against. It's just that now it will add a few extra files that the earlier mame/rom versions did not need.
  2. just check my post in the thread. it has all details
  3. but i updated the batch file in your post for it. Edit: i attached my batch file. but i don't know if you added it somewhere in the top of the thread or not
  4. I like this set:

  6. i wonder if this can even be causing some of the slowness in LB/BB related to the image cache filenaming you use?
  7. @Jason Carr , i've found that having the enormous amounts of unique unknown file extension names on the image cache files causes some tools like my xyplorer file explorer replacement to take a very long time when entering the cache folder. the problem is strictly because of that crazy unique file extension naming. if i rename all those files with the same extension, i can browse that folder and do stuff in there almost instantaneously. i reported this to the xyplorer app devs, but they don't want to fix this because they think it's unusual to add extensions like this and that it is not necessary. also Windows 10 file explorer itself even takes a while on this folder. is there any way you can change the naming so there is just like a normal uniform extension on those file names? it will really speed up file browsing.
  8. If I don't have 'use all controllers' enabled, my BB will totally freeze (or freeze at launch) any time I power on my second xbox one usb wireless controller. I reported that before but I don't think Jason was able to reproduce it. Also, I use the real official microsoft usb wireless adapter for my genuine xbox controllers.
  9. as i'm launching each of my mame games to test each one out (upgraded to 182 roms), i'm getting these random popup errors every so often: "Launchbox. A video error occurred: Windows Media Player encountered problem while playing the file". I just click Ok on the dialog (luckily because i don't use a cabinet). then if I click on another game and back on the same game, I will not get an error and the game video plays in the sidebar just fine. i am running LB 7.6 and I have never hit this before now.
  10. what should be in this thread, if not bugs about betas?
  11. @Jason Carr , don't know if you saw this post of an issue i'm seeing only recently: as i'm launching each of my mame games to test each one out (upgraded to 182 roms), i'm getting these random popup errors every so often: "Launchbox.
  12. @Zombeaver , is it only games that must be unzipped? That's the only time I see it with VLC.
  13. ok, i launched, added a coin to, and began every single game in the all killer no filler set using 182 split set roms. after adding tons of missing files, i have created a new all killer no filler batch file that will copy everything you need for all the games to really work. i added the batch file in my post to the all killer no filler thread:
  14. Oh man, I launched each and every game and added a coin and started the game. Every game now works with my split 182 rom set for the "all killer no filler" reduced set. Attaching the updated batch file. Just rename with .bat instead of .txt The first part of the file tells you which CHD folders you need to copy manually in case you want those. All the necessary roms are copied from a full set to a folder name: _NoFiller Hope this is useful to someone. I really like this reduced game set. Edit: My total folder size including all the roms AND the CHDs comes out to 10.3GB _NoFiller.txt
  15. as i'm launching each of my mame games to test each one out (upgraded to 182 roms), i'm getting these random popup errors every so often: "Launchbox. 16. @SentaiBrad , do you know if the non merged roms also include the required bios and/or device files too? i doubt it, but curious...
  17. I haven't been able to use VLC EVER for this very reason and have always had to use WMP in LB only. I never got that crash in BB either, but got it frequently in LB when transitioning from LB to the full screen game. Your crash error looks exactly the same as the one I've reported. I basically gave up on any chance to get it fixes months ago. Now, maybe there is some hope if someone else gets this.
  18. My 180 "split" set, updated to 182 with CLRMamePro seems fine. I googled all over for a "non-merged" full set, but I only see full sets with no indication of what type they are.
  19. Sure, but i think most of the ones I've hit are not related to the newer mame version (some were though). Many of the games so far were just missing another file required for the game. But then again, I'm not a MAME expert with rom sets so maybe certain types of sets wouldn't hit this issue, merged, split, non-merged, etc? It's going to take me a while to test launch every game to get the list, but I'll give it to you once I'm done testing every game. Edit: another person on this forum mentioned Emu Loader to audit the roms that are not working, and that has been instrumental in my missing file hunt.
  20. ok, i whacked that file and now the ALL platform appears all cleaned up from those bogus non existent games.
  21. Looks like that entire huge xml file is just for Nintendo Super Famicon platform, so i'm guessing it should be safe to delete this file.
  22. Weird thing I just noticed. If I open LB and go to the ALL platform, I can see lots of Nintendo Super Famicon games in there that I deleted a long time ago several LB versions back. I don't even have a Nintendo Super Famicon platform, even with showing hidden games. If I right click and Edit one of these games, it shows a blank Platform field. Also I do not have an xml file in my data folder for Nintendo Super Famicon. I just did a mass search for one of the unique game names across every platform xml file i have and they seem to turn up in "Platforms\Unknown Platform.xml" Why is that xml file there? I think I'll look at it further and possibly just delete that xml file. Strange bug here.
  23. Just an FYI for anyone trying to use the killer no filler set. it is missing TONS of files for all the games to work. i am going through all 636 of the games and adding the missing files. when done, they will all work with my 182 version of mame and 182 version of roms. if anyone wants to use this reduce mame set and has lots of games not running, i can provide a file listing from my setup if you want.
  24. after all this, looks like i'm going to try following the steps to update my 180 set to 182 using clrmamepro , just to make sure everything is truly in good shape. so, that's my next adventure on this... edit: i think my mame set is a split set, so maybe that has something to do with missing files.
