It would be much easier for me to write the script in batch Edit: Oh, do you mean to just write the nomousy hide/unhide part? Yeah, I'll have to think about how that would go. Although I would prefer to keep this to the platform rather than the emulator since you can use more than one platform to an emulator, like Demul.
-
NoMousy.exe worked for me with Demul Dreamcast as before and after additional app. Now I only need to add this to 330 more games one by one - haha! I guess if I want to use this globally for Demul, I'll have to run Demul with a batch file as the emulator and with the no mousy commands in the batch file. I don't really like to run the emulators from batch files to solve issues like this. We really need a platform level additional apps feature for this and other things that it would be useful for. @Jason Carr - do we have enough tickets and votes for this yet

Ooh, I didn't know that. Was it an option or did it do that on it's own? It's a setting option to "hide mouse cursor" in Dolphin's Graphics options. I just set it and it solves it for me with Dolphin. Now I need to figure out Demul,,,
-
You're lucky. For me the mouse pointer is always smack dab in the middle of the screen with Demul and Dolphin. I always move it to the bottom left corner. I just haven't got around to looking into how to hide the mouse pointer yet. Now seems like a good time to start looking as this has been irritating me haha. I haven't checked to see if it happens in BB too or not. Edit: happens for me in BB too. Ok time for a solution...

awesome, happy gaming!
-
ahh, i didn't realize he wanted to run both with retroarch. @lordmonkus solution sounds super easy!
-
Hey @StuDentBR, you're in luck as that should be easy. I have done that for a couple games also. Just right click edit the game you want to change to another emulator and click its emulator tab and choose the emulator you want to use for that game. Let me know if this makes sense because I'm not in front of my computer to tell you exactly what to click.

@DOS76, i never like to pay for a full "lifetime" license cost for software up front (especially when the software company is new and 1 person), because that software has a strong chance of going away (not that LB will, but you never know). this way it helps to mitigate that risk. you could say 5 years is a long wait to get $60, but you could also say getting $60 now and then nothing for 5 years also has its disadvantages. plus, i hear it was only $20 before for lifetime, so it's still a win personally, i'll be fine either way, but I think an option like this "might" get Jason more money by hooking people who don't like the idea of $50 right now, and will simply give him nothing (and I know they are out there!). also, this type of model puts more incentive into the company to keep producing new features. if they stop making it worth an upgrade, people will stop paying for the upgrade. this might be a bad idea and it might not - i don't really know. Jason's call. it was just a thought, because quite honestly i've been getting tired of getting the same old software licensing options of either pay a big amount now for a lifetime license or pay a fair amount now but pay for overpriced upgrades as i needs them. i'd like to see something different. maybe once I see a couple more features added to regular LB (like unzip loading/progress screen and option to hide/unhide platforms and a bit better performance) i'll send my other 30 bucks. but i want all my basic needs met before i do that. i'm already quite satisfied with BB as-is. or maybe Jason will pull something extra cool out of his hat that nobody else has that will really motivate me. i have almost a year left to decide
-
Not sure where the best place is for this, but I'll try it here. I was wondering if it makes any sense to add another licensing option. $20 1 year license. $10 renewals done 4 times converts you to forever license. So, you pay $60 but not $50 up front. This is the option I would choose.

Performance in LB was absolutely the right place to spend some time IMHO. I'm glad Jason did this. It's so much better and pleasant to work with. I think a lot of users may use the product similar to how I do. I use Bigbox to wow friends and kids when they come over. They play in Bigbox mode. And I run it (BB) sometimes just myself, well, simply because it's really cool. I use regular LB for my own usage most of the time. And I use it for all the setup and testing of course. So having it perform well in regular mode is very important, even if you use BB mode most of the time. The only thing I'd really like to see added to regular LB mode sooner rather than later is a loading status (during unzip process). I bought a license for BOTH modes Kudos again for a great product!

An xml validator might find the file that has a problem. Here is one site where you can upload xml files to be checked: https://www.xmlvalidation.com
-
hopefully @Jason Carr can have a look at them unless he already knows what the problem is.

@grus2002 and @Jeffe, if you are up for it, this could produce some files that might be able to help understand what is causing the problem: download and unzip free microsoft tool procdump to c:\temp: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396 In the start menu search for cmd.exe, right click on it and choose to run as admin. in the command shell that opens, change to where you unzipped procdump: cd c:\temp run your bad Launchbox so it's in that bad hanging/freezing state. while LB is hanging/freezing, run this in your command shell: procdump -s 5 -n 3 launchbox.exe When it's done you should see 3 dump files in c:\temp that it created. Zip them up and send to Jason.

then again it sort of sounds like it's not the data files that are the problem since you copied them from a non working LB into a new LB 6.11 install and the 6.11 install still worked. Sort of sounds like the upgrade is changing or adding something else that causes the breakage. or the 6.12 betas just doesn't like something about your configuration.
-
@Jeffe , you could could copy your current Data folder somewhere(from the beta3 that isn't working) and rename to Data_after_upgrade, then try your steps to get to a working state again like you did before. if it's like before you will be working again and don't upgrade if a new beta comes out without a fix for this. Copy your Data folder from the working setup and rename to Data_Good. Maybe you can send both Data_after_upgrade and Data_Good to Jason for analysis (in a zip file)?
-
cool, so it seems there is still an open bug in beta 2 that needs to address this.
-
hey @Jeffe, you don't need to use LB menu to clear it. Just go into the images/cache folder and delete all with LB closed. then open LB.
-
I am not having any LB crashes since updating to Beta 2, but then again, I also cleared my image cache folder, so I guess that could also have something to do with it. The popping is much better now. And an unexpected improvement is that I "think" I'm seeing game details come up faster when I click on them from one to another. Or maybe I"m just imagining it, haha.
-
Maybe you should try menu option 'refresh all images'.
-
Great!
-
ok it sure is hard to get LB to cache ALL images again after refresh all images or after deleting everything in the cache folder. so i'm in Platform "ALL" showing ALL games. LB will keep stopping on the caching. The only way to make it cache more is to keep scrolling down forever. when i get tired of scrolling it will stop caching in a little bit and i'll have to start scrolling again. shouldn't 'refresh all images' refresh all images?
-
i use Cemu 1.6. have you setup controller automation for this in LB settings? also, what is in your autohotkey tab for your Cemu emulator? it should have this: $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} }
-
i use xbox360 left analog joystick click and then right analog joystick click and that works in Cemu. maybe Cemu has the start button and is messing with LB, i don't know.
-
Is 'refreshing all images' the same as deleting all the files from the images cache folder? Just curious here.
-
It might be a good idea to have the LB program clear (or refresh if they are different) the image cache automatically on startup if changes are ever made to a new version where this is crucial or beneficial? I went through all my MAME games as well to clear out duplicates and others that I didn't want. I hope that was not undone like @Charco mentioned =(. I'm a bit nervous to check Can't wait to upgrade to the fixed beta tonight! Thanks for fixing the crash so quickly!
