  1. @Jason Carr, I'm sure curious about how you envision the auto rom parsing feature to work, especially for a brand new setup. For example, would the recommended way to dump 10k worth of games into a new LB install of game folders, be to copy this massive amount of files while LB is closed and then when you launch LB, it will go to work silently for a long time on that? Or copy the files all in when LB is already open? And especially for MAME, how will LB deal with MAME quirks? Like, people will probably just dump in their whole rom pack set, but sure won't want certain types of games or duplicates or many other filtering they would normally go through in a manual import. And what about games images, screenshots, clear logos, videos, etc. Will it grab/download EVERYTHING or just get the basics? Will it just try to get things for games that have nothing (in case you copied in your media was well as games beforehand)? Will LB be doing all this work in the background and the user will never get prompted for anything? I'm asking because I'm thinking about doing a brand new setup on another computer and want to know if I really will be able to use this new feature or if it will just be better for me to import everything manually with full control without using this feature. It would sure be cool to just copy the game files, but I am afraid the end result will not be what I want? Thanks!
  2. That's awesome @Zombeaver, I've been avoiding Amiga like the black plague as I've waited for a good tutorial. I skimmed your video and expect to use it when I get some time to setup Amiga in my LB. I was an avid Amiga 500 owner and user back in the day. I loved how advanced it was for its time, and I had many games for it. I think Phantasie was what got me interested in fantasy RPG gaming, so I've been wanting to have a look at it again (and Phantasie 2-4!), a billion years later! Thank you!
  3. You never know what? Are you saying these files are indeed various LB installer versions? I wiped them all out because I am happy on my current version, and I have a couple installers in my Dropbox anyway. But I do think that is a good idea.
  4. I have almost 3GB of LB exe files in my Launchbox\Updates folder. It looks like they might be LB installers of the past. Is it safe to go ahead and delete ALL of them? Thanks.

  6. Thanks a lot! Now that I finally figured out setting my xarcade and xbox360 controllers simultaneously or one or the other in RA, i can really start getting into using it more!
  7. Thanks @lordmonkus , setting the ratio to core provided is better. Can any of these settings help: threaded video integer scale hw bilinear filtering hard cpu sync and hard cpu sync frames ??
  8. Ahh. It looked a lot better to me with SSF and my video settings there, but i don't want to use SSF anymore for Saturn. So none of those video settings in the core can't help? If not, can you suggest a shader that might clean it up a little more? Right now it is super grainy and jagged full screen 16:9.
  9. Hi I'm trying to improve the way my Saturn games look when run in Mednafen RA. I am running on 1920x1080 and want to keep fullscreen. There are a lot of video settings in this core that I'm not at all clear on which ones may help. I have a pretty good i5 CPU and nvidia 1070 video card. can anyone suggest some things that might make it look better, not using shaders, at least not yet? Thanks.
  10. update on this saga... it is actually working fine! i forgot that i changed n64 to a stand alone emulator. so my xarcade AND xbox 360s do seem to be working concurrently now in my RA cores which is just awesome. don't know why my xbox360s never got autoconfigured initially , but at least things seem to be working like i want now. so, my suggestion to anyone who may be trying this. if your xbox 360 does not autoconfigure like mine does not, then just set it manually with bind all. and when trying to set custom key mappings for your xarcade, if you use keypad numbers for your xarcade joystick, you may have to go into the retroarch.cfg and manually fix that bug to set it with up/down/left/right instead. the RA forums say you will not be able to use your xarcade if you have xbox360s plugged in, but that's not true. you can use either one and it works (at least for me).
  11. Great news @Vlansix! So glad to see Jason getting some help on this awesome software. I'm excited to see your contributions!
  12. switched from SNES to n64 and xarcade totally stopped working even if no xbox controllers are plugged in. giving up for now... haha
  13. well, i went ahead and did rebind all on my xbox 360 controllers and got the result i REALLY wanted which is to be able to use either xarcade OR xbox360 controllers any time in any game without having to unplug or switch and settings. now i can use a mixture of say player1 on xobx360 and player2 on xarcade or i can use both xbox 360s or i can use both xarcade. that was something i have not read is possible in RA but it is indeed working and what I really wanted hope it doesn't stop working.
  14. i found an input setting "autoconfig enable" but it's already set to ON.
  15. got 2 player xarcade working. but now when i plugin my xbox 360 controllers they don't work. and i'm guessing that's because RA never was able to automatically configure my xbox 360 usb controllers. is there possibly an RA setting to tell it not to use the autoconfig files for controllers?
  16. making progress! i had a setting for per core configs and it was set to ON. i turned it off and now my mappings for xarcade user1 work! finally!
  17. so, it appear that setting the keyboard mappings in the main settings without a core loaded (like i was instructed to do on the RA forum) do not carry into the game cores. when running a game, the new mappings didn't work (but did work in RA ui) so i used my keyboard assuming the original settings might be in place still and they were. so, do we have to make these custom keyboard mappings inside every single core? or did i miss something in the main settings to make them carry down to cores?
  18. oh well, back to the drawing board, even though i disabled all the hotkey mappings to make sure there are no duplicates for what i mapped for my xarcade button, the4 buttons are now doing unexpected things. this nightmare in RA continues....
  19. i was trying to map my left joystick for player1 (keypad2, keypad4,kepad8,keypad6) but for the life of me couldn't get it to work using the all binds option in the RA ui. i found it works finally if i replace what RA put in the config file with keypad2, keypad4,kepad8,keypad6 to values that are just up down left right. oh man that was killing me. geez!!
  20. Does anyone know which player1 mappings in the main settings correspond to player1 up down left right mappings for keyboard? I can't seem to get custom up/down/left/right keys to work, so I'm guessing I am setting them for the wring settings since there are various settings that i guess could be for up/down/left/right. I asked on the RA forum, but it's been a while with no answer over there.
  21. hahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahha!! thanks for that BIG laugh!!
  22. My personal point was there are things that can be done to make configuration easier and more enjoyable to get to gaming faster. Whether it takes years or weeks really isn't my point. Just suggestions coming from a user. Take it over leave it.
  23. Haha, ok guys. Not worth debating anymore
  24. Also @zombeaver, @lordmonkus, and @dos76, please know that even though we may or may not have an agreement on this topic, the three of you have helped me immensely with my LB stuff (and even related software that is not LB) and I truly appreciate all your help, as I'm sure everyone else does. . So thank you!
  25. @lordmonkus, respectfully, I'm afraid you are really missing the point of what's being said to some extent. I'm surely not comparing. I am simply using Openemu as an example (examples are helpful) of how they made some things easy that yes even LB has the ability to do (with some work of course!). And I surely am not saying OpenEmu is better than LB. And I don't buy the hardware excuse at all for what we are talking about. Again, we're talking about the LB front end application level. We are not talking about programming an actual emulator here. I hope you get the point.
