  1. Also if you are using any version of the MAME emulator that is not version 0.78 then the games imported will not match what you actually have either. For the record, while the 2003 romset is technically a full romset, it is one based off of the 0.78 set that was released in 2003, hence the name, it lacks a ton of games that are in the actual current romsets and really isn't recommended as the go to romset as it can only be used with Retroarch's mame2003plus core or the 20 year old standalone version 0.78, which lacks any of the features of newer versions of the emulator and is simply a poorer emulator, MAME has come a long long way in nearly 20 years.
  2. A MAME romset is far more than 1000 files, sounds like you are trying to use the MAME fullset importer without a actual fullset, hence why games are not launching, you do not have them in your set.
  3. Well that is how you do it, if the "mame" core is not showing then you dont have it, have you confirmed that you actually have the core downloaded and in the Retroarch/Cores folder. That dropdown actually looks at your core folder and lists everything in it. And no this is not locked to the paid version, premium features are mostly cosmetic related and not functionality (excluding the Bigbox UI).
  4. Dont import a whole folder if you have non rom files in there, also the easiest way to import is to just highlight your files in Windows and just drag and drop those files to the Launchbox window which will start the import wizard for just those files. Launchbox is file type agnostic, so if you just through a folder with multiple file types at it, it will import all those files.
  5. Well it sounds to me like you imported video files and not rom files if you are seeing a video play. Edit one of the imported games and head to the launching tab, what file is Launchbox pointing too?
  6. Launchbox does not setup controls in any emulator, you have to do that yourself (although many emulator will just work when using a xinput controller, mame is not one of those) so you need to manually setup your controller via the mame menu. Load a game, hit TAB on your keyboard and head to input global and use your keyboard arrow keys and enter to highlight and select the buttons then press the button you want on your controller.
  7. Until that weird incompatibility with that one game you really like hits, but each to their own. I never said the core was bad either, just not as good as the standalone.
  8. Also can just turn off the "game details screen" in the options.
  9. Yeah, you shouldnt be using Retroarch for Gamecube anyway, its not anywhere near as good as the standalone emulator.
  10. I think you can long hold a left click on it and edit, at least i think thats the case for users and not just moderators.
  11. That's exclusive to the default plus theme.
  12. Did you build this PC, or did you buy it pre-built, as there are some very strange inconsistencies in your specs there. You have a z490 motherboard with a 10th gen I9, thats fine, but you then say you have 64GB of 1333mhz RAM, 1333mhz RAM is DDR3 and will not work with your motherboard as that is DDR4 only. MSI MPG Z490M GAMING EDGE WIFI mATX Gaming Motherboard (10th Gen Intel Core, LGA 1200 Socket, DDR4, SLI/CF, Dual M.2 Slots, USB 3.2 Gen 2, Wi-Fi 6, micro-ATX, DP/HDMI, Mystic Light RGB) Also your GPU looks suspect too, the RTX 3060 is not available as a 4GB variant, it comes with 12GB. EVGA - Products - Graphics - GeForce 30 Series Family - RTX 3060 12GB How did you get the specs posted above, it looks like you copied them from a program, like cpu-z or dxdiag, is that correct? Cause if they are reporting correctly then something strange is going on. It's not unknown for Chinese scammers to say a product is one thing and its something else flashed with a fake bios in order to trick the PC into thinking a product is something else, hence why i asked if you built this PC, if you did, did you get the parts from respected vendors?
  13. Going on your example from your original post, if you changed to Alien vs Predator (2010) (English) (Disk 1) The scraper will ignore the extra info and just try to match the actual game name part.
  14. Correct, Launchbox will still catalogue that info in it's data files and paths, but it will be ignored by the scraper.
  15. You already can edit the names inside Launchbox, but you cant do that in bulk obviously as each name is different. If you insist on keeping that naming scheme then no scraper out there will match your games i'm afraid, it's simply not a standard used for game naming. Games should be named as the actual game, and any extra information should be included in parenthesis, that is the standard for all game naming, like below.
  16. Or if you want a actual program with a UI then i use and recommend Bulk Rename Utility.
  17. There are no bezels, so nothing to add, also Launchbox does not run the bezel project, so it wouldnt be for us to add.
  18. X68000 is not a supported platform, so there are no bezels for it.
  19. Tools/Manage/Manage Emulators/Retroarch/Associated Platforms tab.
  20. The pcgamingwiki is a great resource for this sort of stuff. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered - PCGamingWiki PCGW - bugs, fixes, crashes, mods, guides and improvements for every PC game Marvel's Avengers - PCGamingWiki PCGW - bugs, fixes, crashes, mods, guides and improvements for every PC game looks like both games use the same -nolauncher according to the pc gaming wiki.
  21. I believe Spiderman you can use -nolauncher in steam, so that will probably work when added as a command line in Launchbox.

    Hardware

4GB is not enough RAM, even 8GB is debatable these days, 16GB is much more common and recommended, Windows itself uses a lot and then Launchbox/Bigbox stores a ton of images to RAM too. i3 is "probably" OK, but i would go with a i5 personally. As for a GPU you dont state if you want to upscale systems like PS1 and gamecube as that is all it will be used for, any system that isnt 3D wont use a GPU at all, shaders will use a GPU, but unless you are using something like the megabezel shaders (which are retroarch only) then most shaders are relatively light and dont need much in the way of a GPU.
  23. Eh? So you don't want the roms in the same folder as your CHD's, but then ask if you can put the actual rom inside of the corresponding CHD folder? I don't get the question, but if you wanted to put each rom in its own CHD's folder, you would have to add every single CHD folder to the ini so that the emulator would know where to find them, tedious and completely needless work.
