  1. It was Andyco47 who pointed out that Moon Patrol scores for example can be manipulated, which until that moment Jason did not think was possible. Instead of scolding him, personally I think he should be thanked.
  2. I was joking earlier. Sadly you're never going to stop people from cheating (at anything). The All-Time Leaderboards are where people will be trying to land their names by whatever means possible. I just set mine to show the Weekly Leaderboards only. Seems less likely that people will go through the hassle of changing settings back and forth every time they play, so emphasizing the short-term records seems like a better way to get an accurate picture of how your colleagues are scoring.
  3. I'm not saying people are cheating. ...but people are cheating ?
  4. We could really use updated videos for Cave, Daphne, and Naomi. They were in the Nostalgia set. Please?
  5. Thank you Mr. Retrolust, your work is outstanding. Hope you can keep up the energy to complete this massive project.
  6. Wish I could help, but I don't use anything above 1080p at the moment.
  7. I agree, best to keep it to mainly just the controls. Users already have the game media thrown at them in most existing LB themes.
  8. Hey, if you manage to do that for us, that would be terrific and much appreciated! Do you think it's currently possible to have it look for a game image, then if that doesn't exist, a default one for the system?
  9. Yes, ideally I was looking to have a folder created that isn't touched by any images by the database. Just an empty folder that can be used for any purpose the user or theme creators intend. I would hate to forget to uncheck the box during a metadata update and accidentally overwrite everything that I put in there. As for system images, this is also how RetroPie works with launching (startup) images. First it searches for an image named the same as the rom. If it doesn't find that, it displays one for the platform if it's available. Creating a startup theme that shows the controls for the game or system you're launching (pointing to a custom folder) would be a great feature for LB, which is why I want to see it integrated.
  10. Awhile back I brought up the idea of being able to display *customized* controller mapping images for the pause screen by creating one new image folder in LB. This one user folder could just be called "custom" or something generic like that, and could be used for people creating various types of themes for LB. I wanted people who were playing my arcade cabinet to be able to hit a button, and the pause screen would bring up an image that I had created to show them the specific controls for the game or the system (see below for an example of what I made for my setups). Whatever image in that folder is named the same as the current rom is what would be displayed, so the image could be anything you like. I didn't get a lot of support on the idea, but maybe we can raise the discussion again if there's interest.
  11. This is correct. Windows OS sorts properly without needing the zero preceding a single digit.
  12. Now that looks sharp. Hope to see that change officially incorporated into already an excellent theme.
  13. Thanks @neil9000. I guess I completely missed the part where we somehow went from, "Sure, I can easily add that option" to "Nope, not going to do it" ?
  14. Does that by any chance include being able to view game titles under the boxes? Or is that coming later? I can't seem to find an option to turn them on. Thanks.
  15. I'm hoping to see the category videos coming soon as well.
  16. It's an issue because this is obviously going to be the new format for LB going forward. This is why we have betas - to provide feedback. Not all feedback is going to be positively glowing. Jason offered a short term solution, and the complaint is being addressed.
  17. Please don't insert your own hyperbole into what I said. I never called anything a "disaster". I specifically said I liked the new direction, but I called the removal of game titles a step backwards in usability. That's constructive feedback. As for the blur, I think it's a good addition for the same reasons.
  18. Having the option to have the game title text always enabled would be appreciated, Jason. However, the game text covers now part of the box rather than being underneath. In my opinion, the way the titles were displayed previously was better.
  19. Let me illustrate what I'm talking about. Can anyone here name all 16 Cave titles shown here? Not just which game it is....the version as well (which one is Dai-Ou-Jou, Futari, Black Label, etc.) If you can't, then you can see why this is not an enhancement. This is a step backward in usability.
  20. I'm talking about what your collection now looks like in the new version of LB (with box art). There's no game title displayed, only the boxart. I see that as a major problem. The idea is to make LB easier to manage your collection, not harder.
  21. I have to agree here. While this certainly looks nice and clean, it's not practical to hide the game title. Just think of the users who have lots of international titles, like the Cave shooters with their covers written in Japanese. It's hard to know what you're seeing at a glance unless you somehow have thousands of game boxes committed to memory. I hope this changes, because otherwise I like the new direction.
  22. Oh, interesting. Thank you. So in order for me to actually know if I have any missing 3D boxes, I would need to remove even "Box - Front" from the image priorities? Sort of wondering if this tool could be more effective by specifically targeting the indicated media type (i.e. 3D boxes, instead of anything in the group).
  23. Is there a problem with the Games Missing Media filter right now? I have about 20 systems across Arcade, Console, and Computer categories. When I run the Missing Media tool, I'm only returning hits from the first platform in my list (in my case Arcade). For example, my Commodore Amiga games don't have any 3D boxes yet. When I run the tool to show missing 3D boxes, I get no hits on Amiga games (only arcade). EDIT: I'm on the newest beta, 10.8 beta 1
  24. Wow, that Armor Attack one really brings back memories. Awesome work. I can't believe how fast you can crank these out.
  25. The name of the video file needs to match how you've named the platform in Launchbox. The video file can be placed in either the theme's own platform video folder, or in the Launchbox / Videos / Platforms folder.
