Vlansix replied to hubz's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks for the info! Will look into it now . -
So, good news. Just added a "Skip" button to the moderation page. This will allow you to ignore any change request for 24 hours. Lemme know if there's any bugs :).

Resolved - Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle Errors Out When Editing - Issue #???
Vlansix replied to hubz's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi @hubz, We're looking into this now. Can you tell me if you're still experiencing this issue? If so, please add a link to the exact page that's giving you trouble, as I can't seem to replicate it on my end :). -
Resolved - Images updates not taking affect - Issue #???
Vlansix replied to FoxyMonty's topic in Troubleshooting
Heya guys, this should be resolved. There was an issue with image deletions that wasn't throwing errors at anyone. Let me know if you're still seeing it :). -
Aye, if we were to do something like this, it wouldn't be anything mandatory. No worries :). We're really big on the whole privacy/"don't track me bro" thing.
-
Not a bad idea. Please log a ticket :). I'll have to look into this eventually.

Hi @Brian, @Jason Carr, @SentaiBrad and Myself are discussing a fix for this. Basically, we currently CAN push changes through, but it's a horrific pain. Last time I did it to troubleshoot the deletion issue, I had to stop for a while and go to my cat room to relax. (I have a room where my cats generally hang out. It's very relaxing.) The issue here is that the community isn't reaching a consensus. We're slowly working on fixing that (i.e. adding room for comments from change submitters so mods can see why / check out your sources, etc, we'll be addind the guidelines, and more things.) In any case, to correct for your current problem, we're thinking of cycling back aging requests that are stuck in limbo, like yours. We'll remove all approvals/denials from them and have them circulated again. Probably something like once a month, on the first of the month. They'll either eventually get approved or denied as the community comes to a consensus. Sounds fair?

@grupoapunte - Those aren't bad ideas. It'd probably need to be a voluntary thing. Thanks for making a ticket :).

Heya guys, I've been AWOL for a bit due to some personal stuff, but I'm back now! Anyways, here's a quick update: 1. Max players is now locked to a numerical value so as to prevent internal server errors. 2. Date field now only accepts dates, so as to prevcent internal server errors. 3. Any change sent from the Game Details page will now request a reason before submitting the changes. It's entirely optional, but will help with moderating if reasoning/sources are added It's still a work in progress, I've got to add it to game deletions and image changes/uploads, but it's getting there. Should be completed tomorrow. I'll go through all of your comments here shortly. Thanks for the feedback, gang :).

Hi @Zombeaver, We're not looking to close the forums :). We're just looking to manage the subreddits that already exist. I could go long and hard about multiple different aspects of why we should, but it's all pretty much self-explanatory. Basically, we need to look into it in the same way that we need to manage the LB twitter account or the facebook page. It's not a question of whether it's a good idea or not, it's simply a question of it existing out of our control at the moment, and that's just... well, it's bad, as you very clearly saw with the post you linked. Basically, there's tons of people already willing to moderate any subreddit on reddit. I figured it'd be smart to see if there was anyone here who was enthusiastic about the idea first before setting up a moderation squad to take care of it externally :).

Hi Guys, Just spoke with Jason, and we decided that we need to do something with the LaunchBox subreddit. Basically, it's there right now, there's jason and two other mods listed, but nobody seems to be looking into it. (I may be wrong here, but there's space for improvement there ) Anyways, before I start fishing for mods on Reddit itself, if there's anyone here who already spends an inordinate amount of time on Reddit and would like to mod a sub, let me know!

@WolfRamiO - Just to remove the fear, the server migration shouldn't affect that as nothing is being deleted from this one at the moment.

Hiya, So, the issue you're encountering is generally caused by a background application behaving badly. Could be anything from OneNote, to windows error reporting, to Razer applications, to your antivirus, etc. Something is making your OS have to draw *something* to the screen, which causes you to drop out of full screen mode. Have you tried turning off all your unneeded startupd applications and seeing if it still occurs?

Hiya, Worth a shot. I've got a few ideas as to why this would happen, but it may work as is :).

Resolved - Deletions and Name Changes Not Taking Effect - Issue #140
Vlansix replied to hubz's topic in Troubleshooting
Right, good news and bad news. I actually can't reproduce this on my end. (i.e., when I grab the deletion requests, remove the approval for them and then approve them myself normally through the moderation UI, they work. When I look at them going through the code, they also work as expected. When I try deleting any other game, that also works. When I try to make a new account, upgrade it to moderator and have it approve the deletion, that also works. So, basically, it works. The bad news is that there seems to be certain conditions where it doesn't. Might be related to the previous archive. So, here's the plan- If you keep encountering this in a week or so, let me know. Add links, like FistyDollars, so I have more data to work with :). I'm hopeful that it's just the system having some issues with the removal of over two million moderation requests and not finding certain bits of data that were linked to some requests that weren't approved at the time of archival. -
Resolved - Deletions and Name Changes Not Taking Effect - Issue #140
Vlansix replied to hubz's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks for the info! Will look into it. Edit: On it now. Will advise once I figure out what's up. Edit2: Quick update. Seems like the deletion requests are getting approved and are going through the deletion process, but then are not being deleted. Which is odd, but the good news is that this should be resolved quickly :). -
So, worked a bit on platforms, but we've had a few hiccups on the way. Going to check out the bottom navbar positioning bug now and get back to that in a bit.

Hi guys, Real quick, 1 - Max players will be locked to a numerical value, with a checkbox for games where you can't really determine the max number of players (see MMOs, etc) 2 - I'm working on adding editing capability while moderating and notes being passed to/from mods and content submitters. No worries :).
-
No worries, it'll come back :). Just gotta make it parse the archived tables as well.
-
So, mod speed increase is online. As stated above, all the approved/denied changes that were previously sent in for moderation have been archived. I'll add a means to see those soon, but, for now, just enjoy the speediness of it all :).
-
Rightyo. I'll get this fixed sometime tonight, once I'm done with the database stuff. Really just consists of changing chrome.windows.create to chrome.tabs.create and getting the manifest to request permissions to use tabs. If anyone is impatient, just change that in the LGDSbackgroundpage.js (and manifest.json), and it should use tabs instead. Otherwise, it'll take a day or so for the mozilla/chrome people to approve the changes :). I'll advise once it's online.

So. Moderation speed has been fixed now, just waiting to pass it through Jason first, and I'll upload it. Should be ridiculously fast. I'll be adding a way to see your prior archived changes in a little bit. (i.e. you won't be able to see any changes that you had approved/denied prior to today. This is normal. It'll be fixed shortly :P) Matchplan for today is- 1. Get the mod speed fix online (EDIT: Done) 2. Upload the platform metadata @In virtute Dei has painstakingly scraped together to the platforms, as well as edit all of the images that need editing 2.a - @Cebion - Started looking into fixing the alternate character issue. Depending on how it goes, the DB should be able to support pretty much every single language when I'm done. The issue i'm seeing is scraping through LaunchBox for those characters, but we'll look into that later. Basically, what I'm saying is: Half of it will work (the DB), but LaunchBox may not be able to scrape those characters until jason or myself start looking at the parser within the executable to make that possible. Still, it's an improvement :). 3. If there's any time left (depends on how long 2 will take), start working on some of the moderation enhancements on the issue tracker.
