I’m having an issue getting my AimTrak LG to work consistently. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can get it to work in Area 51, but when I try VS Duck Hunt or Hogan’s Alley, they don’t see the trigger (they do see the two front side buttons…sometimes) nor will they allow me to set the gun up. It’s like they don’t see the gun at all. Also, I keep seeing (throughout the web) people that have a controller config file that allows the guns to stay recognized by Mame when I shut the system down. I can’t seem to find that file to download. I realize I’d have to change some things up in it to match my guns. Is this something that’s downloadable, or is it something that gets created by mane somehow? Thanks.

If this has been asked already, I apologize because I wasn't able to find any info. If it has and you can point me in the right direction, that would be great. Is there an easy way to combine 2 separate hard drives into one LaunchBox system? I do a ton of travel and fell out of this for a few years and I'm now finally getting the opportunity to try and get this fully running, but I see I have 2 separate external drives with LaunchBox on them. A lot of the games are the same, but my second drive has some other gaming systems (and some games that work where the same games on my main drive I want to use has the same game but doesn't work). So I was hoping I could just go into LB and tell it to combine the 2 versus me taking the time to remember how to move everything individually.

LaunchBox 9.2 really bad sound, ok in Retroarch.
HotMommasCowboy replied to CaptSpeirs's topic in Troubleshooting
That's the same version RA that I have. I've watched so many Launchbox videos, Lordmonkus may be right and I may have turned on an advanced setting or something. Between all my traveling and trying to update/fix when I can, a lot of it eludes me now a days! I guess I'm not as good with emulators and roms as I thought I was. I actually do have a "No Intro Naomi" set and it appears I can only get less than half the games running in Retroarch and Sammy Atomiswave just isn't working at all for me in RA! Just not enough videos/ info on these 2 systems. Oh well, here's to continued searches and pulling what hair I have left out! -

CaptSpeirs, I wouldn't be able to help you with No Intro Rom Sets...I'm just not savvy enough when it comes to emulators and roms. But, I did want to add some info to NeoGeo running in "slow motion". I found one of my older Retroarch (version 8.5 I believe) and checked it's video settings because I was having slow motion issues with several Nintendo platforms and Sega Naomi. I changed my video settings in the newer version of RA to match the older version (which actually had threaded video turned off) and now all the platforms that were running in slow motion are now up to normal playing speed. The only thing I didn't change was the custom aspect ratio and I turned "Start in Full Screen Mode" back on. If you weren't having slow motion issues in several platforms like I was, maybe this'll help someone else out. See attached screen shot below. -
I apologize if this has been asked...if so, I was unable to find any info. Long story short, I've been moving LB to an external drive and updating things. Before I started this process, all my platforms worked great, but now, several systems seem to be running in slow motion. Thanks to CaptSpeirs, I was able to solve the issue with NeoGeo (I had to turn on Threaded Video in Retroarch), but it hasn't worked and I can't figure out what settings (I think it's probably a setting within Retroarch) I need to change for GameCube & N64. GameCube I'm using dolphin_libretro and N64 has mupen64plus_libretro. If I push the space bar, everything speeds up and everything is almost on track. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

CaptSpeirs...I was having an issue with the video and audio in NeoGeo being extremely slow! I've spent all day trying to figure out the issue. I stumbled upon your response. Completely solved my issue for NeoGeo. Sorry you had a similar issue as me, but I'm glad you were able to figure it out because it definitely saved me! -
Daphne Laser Disc emulator - a comprehensive tutorial
HotMommasCowboy replied to CADScott's topic in Emulation
Richie, I wonder if you may have something going on with your system. As of right now, I rarely use Big Box, but I just went in and played a round of Dragon's Lair and for me I had sound all the way through. I know this isn't any help, other than letting you know it does work and does run correctly. What I can tell you is the folks here in the forum are amazing at helping to figure out your problems you may be having. I had a heck of a time getting Daphne and Singe up and running, but they patiently worked with me until I was able to get it up and running. -

Mad Dog is downloadable. I went ahead and purchased Daphne and American Laser Games. -

@NJDave71 Mad Dog is part of American Laser Games. Because all my ALG games came with .exe extension files, I just put them in the same platform folder as my Daphne games. -

HotMommasCowboy replied to HotMommasCowboy's topic in Troubleshooting
@dragon57 Thanks. I’ll give that a shot in the morning. I don’t remember how I set up everything the first time. Do you have any tips on how I can get ColEm to see where my .col files are? Thanks. -

ColEm 4.2 Stuck in full screen
HotMommasCowboy replied to HotMommasCowboy's topic in Troubleshooting
@DOS76 Thanks DOS76. Doesn't MAME need the files to be .zip? If so, I no longer have the .zip files for my coleco games. If not, I have MAME 0.188B and MAME ui64. Is there a preferred one I should use for colecovision? Thanks. -
My ColEm stopped working in Launchbox, and I've been playing around trying to figure it out. I put the emu in full screen and now I am unable to get to the menu bar. Does anyone have any idea how I can get it out of full screen mode so I can get to the top menu bar back? Thanks for any advice.

@Aevans0001 It works like a champ!! I just dragged the .exe files into Launchbox and I put them in Daphne, emulator Daphne and once it was done downloading, I turned off the emulator. I attached a screen shot of the .exe files. -
Daphne Laser Disc emulator - a comprehensive tutorial
HotMommasCowboy replied to CADScott's topic in Emulation
@Aevans0001 I did see that, but I was thrown off because all my Singe games have .exe files that run the games versus having to create a .bat. So I was wondering if I dragged the .exe files into Launchbox if that would work. I'm about to try that now since I just finished getting all of my Daphne games setup and working properly. On a side note, all my Daphne games are in my daphneloader.exe, but I can't remember, nor can I figure out how to get the Singe games in there also. So again, I'm hoping the .exe files will work with me dropping them into Launchbox. -

MrCanuto23 or Lordmonkus, do either of you know if this would work with American Laser Games (Crime Patrol, Drug Wars, Johnny Rock, Mad Dog 1&2, etc...)? -
@Retro808, Thank you!!! Something so simple and it's eluded me for several hours!!! Although, it would have helped if I looked into that setting. Had I done that, I'd have realized nothing was set. Doh!!! Thanks again.

@Thanos Reigns, I realize this is kind of an old post, but I have a quick question. In your comment you say to hit the comma key to cycle through views. Do you know if something has changed since you made this comment? The reason I ask is because when I hit the comma key, nothing happens...actually, I've hit all keys and nothing switches the view unless I go into views and change it there. "X (& ESC)" closes big box. "N" lowers my volume and "+" increases my volume. Thanks for your help.

I apologize, because I know this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the info again. I have MAME 0.188 and I'm trying to get the high scores to save, but I'm unable too. Inside my plugins folder, I have a high score folder with hiscore.dat in it also. I've also gone into my .ini folder and then into mame.ini and updated the plugin section by changing plugins to 1 and beneath that plugin to "hiscore", but it doesn't seem to work. Also, I've seen people mention changing the setting in the plugin.ini file, but I do not have that file. Could this be my problem as to why high scores aren't being saved? I understand that the plugin.ini is supposed to be created by some action, but for some reason it isn't,, so is there somewhere I could go to download it? Thanks for the help.

Quick question. I have MAME up and running, but I ended up installing a bunch of stuff I really don't want..fruit games, mechanical, etc... Is there a way to reprocess MAME in LB without losing all the box art (it takes about 19hrs to process the artwork and videos) and stuff and just reprocess the games so I can leave that other stuff out? Thanks.
-
@DOS76, Thanks for the info, but tab isn't opening up a menu for me. I need to learn the MAME program, so I'll play around until I can figure it out. @spycat, I think the Pac Man games that showed up under Arcade are the mechanical ones you're talking about. The original (or the one I grew up with) one was actually placed under the Namco platform. Thanks.

@DOS76@spycat, Just wanted to give an update real quick. So my original rom pack Software List Roms. I downloaded the correct one and now it works great. Thanks for the help you two. I am disappointed in pacman though. All the versions I have are not normal. They work, but not normal. Could it be something I did? A couple of questions: 1. I started with RA and most games worked, but some would crash RA (RA "Stopped Working", like the pacmans). It appeared as though it was trying to open 2 screens at startup (one would flash really quickly and then be gone). But, everything works fine in MAME (inside LB). Any thoughts why RA crashes on some games? 2. It appears controller (I have 2 logitech f310's) setup in MAME doesn't cover all games, Is there a way to setup each game individually for the ones that don't use the normal controls? Thanks again for the help.
