it seems like my arcade area is loading & searching much slower from b4 to b5(i just loaded 6 and its the same). I tried dumping my image cache but it still seems like there is a lag. when the system starts up the sidebar is completely loaded but it takes a good 14 seconds to load the ROM images in the center area. also, searching seems to take more time than normal about 10 seconds to start searching. I've never "noticed" LB being slow til now. Video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a4viiobwgpuyey0/lb.mov?dl=0

So this seemed interesting so I did some Research... If you are using 'Genesis Plus GX' Core this does not have "Disk Control" as a feature. https://docs.libretro.com/library/genesis_plus_gx/ PicoDrive does though: https://docs.libretro.com/library/picodrive/ I believe this will let you do what you're trying to do. Test it out and let us know.

If you are not using a full set you want to make sure you are not using a Split set. to save space split sets will use duplicated files from other ROMs to run a rom. lots of ROMs use other info from other files to run.

-
There is a ini file that you need to say where your ROMs are, other then that it should just be a double click. Then when you get to the warning screen to press ok, move the joystick left and right
-
I like using MAMEUI instead, just so I can have a pretty UI. It stays as much up to date as the MAMEdev site does. http://www.mameui.info/
-
I think we’re using Arcade generally where it should be MAME instead. i see Arcade as all of these games where it’s actually just games that work with MAME.
-
The importer considers model3 niamo and other ROMs broken because they do not work in mame emulator, but they do work in demul and others, that’s what I’m getting at. So now you have to import broken ROMs which also include hardware sound cards and other weird things, even if you have checked to not import Mechanical
-
What we need is a feature update, remove the radio button that says don’t import nonworking ROMs, and just have a larger checkbox filter list where it says don’t import mature and don’t import Tabletop, etc... also have a don’t import Niamo, model2, model3, etc..
-
The team does not see this as a bug since they are specifically connecting the ARCADE Platform with the MAME Emulator, enough though no other platforms import is based on a specific emulator.
-
I'm assuming the only way to go around this is to change the entire platform, make it no longer Arcade and make it it's own NAOMI platform.
-
But it's still not working correctly, When I double-click "18 Wheeler", it launches file "18wheelro.zip"[(Deluxe) Version] with Demul. Yet when I Right-click on "18 Wheeler" and select [Play (Deluxe) Version] it launches files "18wheelro.zip" with MAMEUI. I understand what you're saying with how it's acting with the Additional Apps, but that's the whole point of Bulk-Edit. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jxd0vwki472j766/Launchbox.mov?dl=0
-
But each revision in the drop-down menu even shows the 'Demul' icon logo, but it launches MAME(the default Arcade emulator).

that’s exactly what I use FastCopy for. i have my 2tb internal secondary drive that I use daily. But I backup and travel with the external 2tb drive. FastCopy is great since it can do a sync backup which will make a one to one copy of another drive add and deleting files.
-
I went basic with an external drive and a program called FastCopy. Every time I make a big change I run the sync. this made Launchbox a portable solution to if I done want to bring the entire computer. That being said I also own a Synology home NAS and love it to backup my file & archive. It can also use drives at different types and sizes, which is a life saver from the normal RAID. if you really want to be safe, Crashplan is something I also run on top of the NAS.

I imported all my arcade rom in as Arcade and I went in and assigned Specific emulators to certain ROMs for Model2, Model3, Naomi, etc... @Jason CarrWhen I double-click on a Arcade game it loads the correct Emulator that I've assigned to it, but if I right-click and choose a different version, it used the default (MAME) emulator to attempt to launch the ROM. I'm guessing this is just a bug, but let me know otherwise. This occurs anywhere the assigned emulator is not the default for that platform.

I was only choosing to use the fbaalpha from the ETA Prime recommendation, have you noticed any issue using MAME with those roms?
-
I just found this: I'm not sure why CP1 & CP2 are fine, but CP3 is different.

I've been updating my LaunchBox to ensure everything is working. I used the Full Set Importer of 0.201 ROMs & CHDs. I'm using Retroarch FBA2012 - CP1 to launch CP1 Roms - THIS WORKS I'm using Retroarch FBA2012 - CP2 to launch CP2 Roms - THIS WORKS I'm using Retroarch FBA to launch CP3 Games - THIS DOES NOT WORK MAMEUI0.201 will load the Rom Retroarch FBA2012 CP1 & CP2 will also not load the rom. I'm not sure where to troubleshoot this, very strange. Glad I found this...I was getting so made that none of my games worked on my new TV... No idea why the refresh-rate is defaulted to 30Hz. Changing it to 60Hz fixed everything!
-
I used the MAME Metadate from your import to import all the additional game. BUT... I set CP1, CP2 & CP3 systems to use specific cores from Retro Arch, NAOMI, Atomiswave, Hikaru & Cave to use specific command-lines with DEMUL, Model2 roms to use the Model2 Emulator by Nebulus Model3 Roms to use Supermodel Emu and Daphne to use the Daphne Emu. Everything is technically Arcade but you have bulk change the EMU's...that would be the only thing I would ask for a feature update. @Jason Carr Anyway just like playlist (If/then) If a rom is in X playlist, use Y EMU or if SOURCE is X(model3.cpp) then use Y EMU.
-
daphne you need to do manually, Model3 you need to create your own playlist (source CONTAINS model3.cpp) same with Nioma & Atomiswave (nioma.cpp), and AES.... you'll end up deleteing about half those roms you imported, change your sort to Genre and looking for something System/Device I beleive, those are all garbage unless someone says otherwise. AES is also the home console of MVS so that wouldn't be in MAME. My Arcade show's 4091 and as I said I used a complete rom & chd set of .201
-
So I can't seem to find a way to do this without creating 4 Platforms and manually assigning the Arcade ROMS to that platform. Is their anyway to have a single Demul emulator, but when I choose a NAOMI game give the NAOMI command, and so on. Will this only work per-platform or is there a workaround so I can get this to work for the Playlist? Currently, I have 3 RetroArch Emulators for CP1, CP2 & CP3. and manually added each game to that platform, I'd like to not have to do that for those and NIAOMI/Atomiswave/Hikaru/Cave
-
I did not, just the import unplayable games.
