  1. Hi all, I have lost about 3 hours this afternoon on Vic20...I am destroyed now!!! I am using xvic (winvice) and retroarch I have zipped files and TOSEC set I am going slightly mad (Queen docet). I have set all, and some games are working. But some does not. First problem is the zip files, I'll probably unzip so I can choose freely what support I want to try (prg crt d64 tap) But I have encountered another problem. I dont know the machine so I am just clicking on some games to play something. And then I have clicked on Cyclons!!!! Damn!! There was no way to make it works and then I have discoved that it wants 8k expansion machine...so I have set it up and now works... So...How do you manage that? in Retroarch can you choose the machine expansion? In vice do you set with expansion for all games and then they works? I have fear that I can't have only one configuration for Vic 20... -crt file with vice wants -cartgeneric while .d64 wants -autostart in line parameter it is getting hard for me thank you for reading!
  2. Thank you! Seems Vice Versa plus should be enough for me. I'll study a little it but I think sync fil is the best way yo backup Thank you again!
  3. Thank to @ALIE to have pointed me this post And @Robin55...it is a very good work and help me to organize in a better way my collection. I have already a good collection ready but there is a lot of junks that I want to keep anyway (yeah...I think it is a sort of psicological "affaire") So, talking here on the forum, I am thinking to create a new category and than create some list, under this new category, filling them with the products that I want. I have seen that you can autopopulate the lists, maybe I can mark the favorites and then autopopulate them in the lists, divided for platform. Can it works? Have you any idea about that? thank you again!
  4. First of all, thank you for your reply. Talking is helping me a lot. When I read this phrase I had a punch in my stomach. I thought "I have not that courage but I'd like to be free in that way". It is interesting to analize myself. Thinking about it I am divided in that, I want to keep all and I want to keep only a part of games. For that I was searching a way to divide the software. And you are helping me a lot because I'm finding a solution. I can keep all in LB and then create a list with only my favourite games, maybe divided for platform. So I could be free to see all the games when I want to explore new worlds or I can browse only the one that I like.
  5. Sorry to bother you, it is a little OT. How do you backup? Do you use some specific software or just a raw copy? I don't know what is better. Thank you!
  6. Yes, I totally agree. It was my first approach and I have kept it for some years. For example I was adding only games that I like. I took my old Zzap! (for example) and I choose the game to add. But adding...adding...adding... something has changed. Now I am just curious to see if there is some difference. I know that it is impossible to see all. When I had Amiga 500, I had a lot of disks and I like also Demo, music (soundtrack!) and uty. In some disks I had interesting text to read (I have them somewhere but it is very difficult to import on pc). I'd like having that software again, divided. When I want to play I'd like to see in bigbox a clean install, when I want to see some software/magazine I use LB to scroll faster. Just thinking.. Yeah, you have touched an important point.
  7. thank you for your reply! 1) I have learned to use it. It is a very good option for same game but different version (regions or alternative versions/dump). 2) that a good idea! Maybe I can try to do it for some roms/magazines/software. But I dont think it is so easy. Do you think that the regions are list or are platform? I am wondering how he has built that. Thank you again! A very good suggestion!!
  8. Hi all, my collection is becoming greater every day. I am adding a lot of junks, I know, but I like to see demo, prototype games, also some software/editor, in the future I'd like to add also magazines etc. So, what is happening? I have a lot of missing media for junks and when I use bigbox I see a lot of junks that I dont want in that version. I'd like to have only 1 launchbox/bigbox In Bigbox I'd like only viewing main roms. For example for genesis in big box I want only main games, but I dont want to see demo and other junks. I'd like to keep them all. I have already combined a lot of roms but some should be separeted. So I have to move them in another platoform, or add to a list and make them invisibles (hidden) in the main platform? And if I move them or add them...how many list/platform do you suggest? Have you encountered such visual organization? How have you resolved it? It's not a technical problem, it is a organization problem. Or it can be a technical problem if I dont know that there is some function that should help me. ( I am just learning) Maybe you have some good idea to share with me. (sorry my bad english)
  9. It works for me, just installed now uncheck all options sample command should look like this: WinApe.exe /A "FULL\PATH\TO\ROM\FILE" I have winApe versione 20b2
  10. First of all, thank you a lot for your usefull information. I have to say that you are right, not so many games at the end. But, you know, it is only to play few games at their best. Maybe, to start, is more usefull a lightgun. I have already a Wheel, but it is not so good for all games...super sprint does not work and others requires a difficult calibration. But I like to try! And I love games
  11. thank you for your reply! So the spinner has already a direct usb cable to attach to pc? I can fix it in a box, but which buttons do you use?
  12. Sinden guns seems interesting! Thank you! I didn't know that. Spinner from Ultimarc has to be inserted in a case. I'd like to find one already mounted. I am not able to build one.
  13. I am very interested in which control do you use. Reading internet seems aimtrack is the best, but it is quite expensive. Is it the only one to buy to play lightgun games? Trying to find a spinner is surely worst
  14. Thank you a lot! I have tried and it works! I am totally noob! step by step I learn how to use it. I was worried about media but all works.
  15. Hi all, I have imported some games (gog) in the wrong platform (I have changed idea basically). The question is: If I decide to move some rom/games from a platform to another, and move all media and related audio, manual...how can I do it? Only Manually? Regards, thank you!
  16. thank you, too hard for me. thank you anyway
  17. Is there a way to move, in launchbox, the highscore window after images or video? Or remove it? I like the new feature but I cannot see the video when I click on a game, I have to scroll down. Yes, I can use big box, but I like to use launchbox also. ty
  18. Sorry Jason to bother you for this question, if you have no time to reply me, I understand. The question is: I have imported mame set by import rom individually (dont ask me why, please, I am a fool). What happen if NOW I import again full set? I have to remove all from launchbox first? (I don't want to reload all media). Thank you for your time and patience! P.S. Anyway, thanks to the new highscore function I have found again the pleasure to play games like I was child, thank you very much! When you'll have some new softwares to buy I'll do it!
  19. oh thank you. No I haven't used it...so nothing appear. My fault then
  20. I know, it is a noob question, sorry. I see that you can set more highscore on the same game using different..version? Like world, old, EU, and so on. I have a complet mame merged set. Launchbox have loaded only 1 version for game. How I can play the different versions through Launchbox? I am just curious.
  21. I have installed and here what I have found: Mouse was still working and configurated Joystick buttons was no more configurated, but I have found that start and coin (9 and 8 buttons were still working, mame default are 5 and 1 keys, so I dont understand) Anyway I have loadad Killer Instinct and I have changed my button config, played then quitted. Reloaded and mame has saved my new buttons configurations I have loaded Wardner and I had similar result. Maybe: global configuration has been kept while specific game configuration has been deleted but it can be redone and it works I hope it can help
  22. Some game's score end with a number different from zero. Atomic Point or Avalanche for example
  23. Yeah, in this way I totally agree with you. I am sorry, I didnt want to be unpleasent or rude. My english is simple so I use simple expression.
  24. @Jason Carr I have found others 2 different situation with high score. 1) I enter an highscore and then it is saved in a different way: G-Darius Ver.2 - New Zero Team and Alpine Ski (I do 1000 points but it is saved in leaderboard like 700k) 2) In some games you can continue inserting coins and the score is not resetted. In the Hunt (I have finished it) and Metal Slug X Super Vehicle -001 I hope it can help
  25. If you are speaking of the last 20 years I agree with you. But if we are talking about mame games...coin-op from golden age... No, sorry, maybe you are not from that age. Games were built around highscore. When a new coin-op arrived on the market, kids like me studied it to discover the way to do more points. Dozens of magazines were publishing tricks to achieve more points. There were world leaderboard (AIVA in Italy for example). otherwise tell me why: in Bombjack you have to collect bombs in order? in Flicky you have to save all the birds in one time? in Ghost'n'Goblins you have to know where to jump to come out 10k bonus items? In Wardner you take ways without exit and then come back? in Bubble Bobble you should avoid taking umbrella? in Phoenix you have to hit central perfect part of the birds? in Popeye you have to collect heart in the high part of the screen? These are only examples, to say the games were built as tests of skill and knowledge and the only way to measure skill were through scoring. Today we collect the trophies, but it is a different way from the high score. So, if I play Horizon Zero Dawn ( I love it), I play having fun. If I play Nibbler, I play for a better high score (and I have fun doing it, eheheh). Look at wr...53 hours to achieve an historical score. In that I hope there will be no more reset...some scores are not so easy to obtain. Maybe we have to study better to not make another reset later.
