When I started LB/BB I was thinking to take only my favourite games. But I have found a lot of game that I never played an I was enjoying it. So I started to collect games, games, games. We know what happen, you collect and then you dont play. And if you play...which one you play? When you have thousands game is hard to choose and it is quite impossible to try them all. So I started to think to divide games in 2 categories. Then I learnt the magic word "playlist" Now I can collect what I want and then prepare a playlist to divide games. For example at the moment I'd like to prepare a playlist to collect Bitmap Brothers Games. I love Speedball, Chaos Engine, Xenon, god... But the only problem is that I am not able to found a playlist video for it...sad. Maybe it is the time that I take my adobe premiere...but preparing video takes a lot of time. Collecting and creating playlists is the way I found to reconcile my obsessive side of collecting and the pleasure of playing.

There are a lot of reasons. A different version can be a little different game. If you take classic mame roms there are a lot of difference. When I was young I was playing bubble bobble with no enemy firing,then I'll discovered that the original had firing enemy. You can have more info also looking at the new series on Netflix...high score if I remember well I had a jap USA snes and a EUP snes, game were faster on USA First psx that I had was en JAP... I prefer some jap games due to the language talked (Winning eleven "HotoShiiuto" when I kick ball) I dont want a "Tosec" like set, because it keep a lot of garbage but a "nointroset" it is complete for me...also a Tosec...yes, I am a maniac, yeah (I am using this "names" only to identify better what I am talking about)

Ok, thank you. I am importing game dividing in groups, cause they are too much. thank you! I'll deal with that then, I cannot import 2000-10000 roms in one time, I download media at very low rate So, when I'll discover that I miss a rom, I'll force it and then I'll merge it. Damn, I hoped that LB'll add later the game. Thank you again! Seems easy to import, but all has always a lot of different aspect.

Combine ROMs with matching titles into a single game option is always checked

Hi, I am a bit confused. Usually I have: 1 game, more versions, alternate names, I can launch them with RMB. For example: Platform: SNES Game: Demon's Crest I have 4 roms, I have imported them merged. If I click right mouse butto, LB show me the other versions. Also they appear in "additional path". I have imported in the same way what follow: Platform: Game Boy Game: Atomic Punk I have 3 roms, LB imports only 1 rom. LB show me the alternate name. If I click RMB it does NOT show me the alternate versions. They does NOT appear in "additional path". If I try to import again LB tells me "0 game imported" What is the difference?

WOW there are tons of games!! Where you get all the video? Here on the forum I am able only to reach some. Some playlist video are, for me, unobtainable...sigh

Hi all, I have 2 problems now. I'd like to make some playlists, I love this features! I make an example. I do Mario playlist. I click on autopopulate and I enter in Title Field "Mario", so all games containing Mario in title comes out. Also games that I am not interested in or I miss Luigi Mansion that I want to insert instead. I cannot insert more field because I think that they work with AND function and not the OR. SO I was thinking to edit that games filling the field Series for each one with Mario br., and then autopopulate with series "Mario br." Can it work? It is a field that soon or later may change downloading metadata? That was the first question. How do you your own playlists? Second one. I'd like to insert a video presentation for my new playlist. Have you an idea where to obtain new playlists video on the net? In download section there are some good ones, but there are other resources? Emumovies has not that type of video. Thanks for your help!

Also Atomiswave works great! Only for some games, naomi too, I dont know how to control them...but maybe they needs some special one

I dont know if this can help but I have created a playlist with my favourites that appears together with the other platform category when I launch BB So, when I start BB I have: -Arcade -Consoles -Computers -Handhelds -My Favourites -Others collection that I want to use Few voices, I dont know if you can set one specific voice at start

A lot of online games are based on a rank. So if you are a novice, you should play with novice too. And anyway all people has the right to begin, so dont worry and dont listen toxic people. Have fun!

I had some issue with clear logo, because I am totally noob. But I resolved and now I can see them. The perfect way I think is: put them in the right DIR and rename them as your platform. Check in LB the dir path and they have to appear in the edit windows, in Images, like "Clear Logo" (with Right mouse button - Image Type - you can assign a different categories) then, if that is all correct, in BB you have to refresh clear logos Keep in mind that you can assign different Clear Logo in platform, platform category, playlist, so check the real one that you are changing. I have done a playlist called Commodore 64. It takes my clear logo of Commodore 64 platform. But if I insert in the right DIR (playlist) another Clear Logo, it override the first one. So I use 2 different Clear Logo for Commodore 64 I hope it can help

Hi all, I have lost about 3 hours this afternoon on Vic20...I am destroyed now!!! I am using xvic (winvice) and retroarch I have zipped files and TOSEC set I am going slightly mad (Queen docet). I have set all, and some games are working. But some does not. First problem is the zip files, I'll probably unzip so I can choose freely what support I want to try (prg crt d64 tap) But I have encountered another problem. I dont know the machine so I am just clicking on some games to play something. And then I have clicked on Cyclons!!!! Damn!! There was no way to make it works and then I have discoved that it wants 8k expansion machine...so I have set it up and now works... So...How do you manage that? in Retroarch can you choose the machine expansion? In vice do you set with expansion for all games and then they works? I have fear that I can't have only one configuration for Vic 20... -crt file with vice wants -cartgeneric while .d64 wants -autostart in line parameter it is getting hard for me thank you for reading!

Thank to @ALIE to have pointed me this post And @Robin55...it is a very good work and help me to organize in a better way my collection. I have already a good collection ready but there is a lot of junks that I want to keep anyway (yeah...I think it is a sort of psicological "affaire") So, talking here on the forum, I am thinking to create a new category and than create some list, under this new category, filling them with the products that I want. I have seen that you can autopopulate the lists, maybe I can mark the favorites and then autopopulate them in the lists, divided for platform. Can it works? Have you any idea about that? thank you again!

First of all, thank you for your reply. Talking is helping me a lot. When I read this phrase I had a punch in my stomach. I thought "I have not that courage but I'd like to be free in that way". It is interesting to analize myself. Thinking about it I am divided in that, I want to keep all and I want to keep only a part of games.For that I was searching a way to divide the software. And you are helping me a lot because I'm finding a solution. I can keep all in LB and then create a list with only my favourite games, maybe divided for platform. So I could be free to see all the games when I want to explore new worlds or I can browse only the one that I like.

Sorry to bother you, it is a little OT. How do you backup? Do you use some specific software or just a raw copy? I don't know what is better. Thank you!

Yes, I totally agree. It was my first approach and I have kept it for some years. For example I was adding only games that I like. I took my old Zzap! (for example) and I choose the game to add. But adding...adding...adding... something has changed. Now I am just curious to see if there is some difference. I know that it is impossible to see all. When I had Amiga 500, I had a lot of disks and I like also Demo, music (soundtrack!) and uty. In some disks I had interesting text to read (I have them somewhere but it is very difficult to import on pc). I'd like having that software again, divided. When I want to play I'd like to see in bigbox a clean install, when I want to see some software/magazine I use LB to scroll faster. Just thinking.. Yeah, you have touched an important point.

thank you for your reply! 1) I have learned to use it. It is a very good option for same game but different version (regions or alternative versions/dump). 2) that a good idea! Maybe I can try to do it for some roms/magazines/software. But I dont think it is so easy. Do you think that the regions are list or are platform? I am wondering how he has built that. Hi all, my collection is becoming greater every day. I am adding a lot of junks, I know, but I like to see demo, prototype games, also some software/editor, in the future I'd like to add also magazines etc. So, what is happening? I have a lot of missing media for junks and when I use bigbox I see a lot of junks that I dont want in that version. I'd like to have only 1 launchbox/bigbox In Bigbox I'd like only viewing main roms. For example for genesis in big box I want only main games, but I dont want to see demo and other junks. I'd like to keep them all. I have already combined a lot of roms but some should be separeted. So I have to move them in another platoform, or add to a list and make them invisibles (hidden) in the main platform? And if I move them or add them...how many list/platform do you suggest? Have you encountered such visual organization? How have you resolved it? It's not a technical problem, it is a organization problem. Or it can be a technical problem if I dont know that there is some function that should help me. ( I am just learning) Maybe you have some good idea to share with me. (sorry my bad english)

Maybe, to start, is more usefull a lightgun. I have already a Wheel, but it is not so good for all games...super sprint does not work and others requires a difficult calibration. But I like to try!
