I hope it can help. When I import Windows Games I generally use the shortcut files. And usually all windows games have one. depends on where you have put them but if they were in your windows folder, you should "add files" and then in the search box type "*.lnk" to search all the games files with the right title also. Search act in subfolder too. It is the same process that you use when you import a lot of cue/bin roms. Sorry if it can help!

Dear Mr. Shizzy, I have not a right reply to give you. But I am here to quote what are you saying. I have already meet this theme and I "vote" for having files separated. If we take, for example: https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/576 Ridge Racer Type 4 you can see that with the game, not all version anyway, comes Ridge Racer Turbo Mode, that is a demo game of the first Ridge Racer playable at 60hz. I'd like having it separated in some way and not only in "apps". Is not another version of the same game. Maybe the DB should be organized a little in a different way. Each bonus disc or extra disc should keep the link (ID?) with his original disc but having his space. In my collection I can keep the bonus disc and not the original game from which it come.

How do you organise your platform/playlist tree?

Organizzazione.bmp This is a question that I have done a lot of time. I find yours organization very interesting. Mine is more classic maybe. I have divided in this way because of I have to show the right video in BB. If I cant find an appropriate video is very hard that I put a voice in the tree. Under computer, console and so on I have all the platform, not grouped like you. With your system I think that you navigate better if you have a lot of voices...and I have. Under "I preferiti di xevvino" I have put a platform and a genre category in which I put my favourites games! I miss pinball because I have not understood yet how they works and which one I have to use. But soon or later... If you look, handhelds can be under console, web broweser under computer and my favourites undere playlist. Why I have separated? Because I want more voices at start, not too much but I prefer to start with a good set. I dont like to select too much voices to reach a game. Anyway it is an hard work, it's 3 years now that I am working on it! -

I dont know if it can help but: try to change the view in LB to "playlist" and then search them there. Maybe you have to select the right "parent" to nest them correctly. The playlist name can be what you want. In some BB themes there are already some playlists images and if you want to use them you have to match the same name. But LB can read a playlist called "SAKLJDKLASJDLKAJKSLK" to be used with any system.

Yes, I have! I have setup mame for some retro console and I have fear to touch it when it works, so I let it there ahahhaah Ok, I'll procede to delete the chdman! Maybe you found THE solution! When I move to a specific folder, I have used the latest chdman version of course. So.... I GOOOO

damn! I have installed it and I receive an error I have a pack of philips cdi roms bin/cue format, imported all togheter in my LB I started the plugin and it has converted only 4 rom in chd, receving error that I attach when a rom cannot be converted. So I have checked a cue file but it seems correct, pointing to the right BIN file name I have tried to move chdman and a cue/bin file to a dir and then with dos command you reported above, I have launched it and it worked! So manually works on the same that I receive error doing with the plug in I have tried also the new plugin, iso, gdi, but I receive the same error any idea? (i dont know if it help but I have mame install on a drive and rom pack on a different drive, but LB works without problems and anyway some roms have been converted) pluginerror.bmp

I think that you have touched a core problem. No, normal people cannot understand what does it means! And it is quite normal. Each of us has his work and interests. I am using LB because is easy to use. I was using, years ago, hyperspin and rocket launcher and they were too hard for me. So I have searched and found this awesome software! I admit that I had problems understanding the points of the questionnaire (mister? and who is he? I only know Mister x of Tiger Man!). I watched the video on youtube and it didn't clarify my ideas. Reading the posts here, I realize that I'm not the only one who doesn't understand. it seems to me that the direction of LB is to simplify access for all. Let's help the poor computer ignorant to understand and use this great software easily. Let's make it as simple as possible for everyone. (we have not yet a bulk editor for playlists! HELP!)

I hope someone can reply, we are only here to defend LB work and future I think that talking togheter is the way to find a better way to work and having pleasure with our games! finger crossed 🤩

I totally agree! Sometimes seems that editing xml or other stuff makes people cool. Instead it is a big waste of time and I dont like doing it. Sometimes I have to do but I prefer to do something else. Moreover, LB/BB should point to sell copy to all. To reach this target it should keep on simplify a lot of part. Managing playlist, platform is one of the base core, I suppose. I appreciate a lot retroarch integration, the new mame import and so on. I hope they can add also these standard feature. I think that there is a problem on the feature request. People that does not like to program or "hard edit", loose interest in putting feature request. Using bitbucket is not so easy like using a forum. Seems that became a "specialist feature request". Anyway... I love LB and BB and the guys that works here, I am only thinking on how to make our games better I hope that there is space for some reasonable critic... it is my work, cannot do different 🤣

thank you for your reply! I have read it, but I have not thought that old playlists should recalculate it each time...what a noob. So I have removed autopopulate MANUALLY (ehi, it is incredible that we have not a playlist bulk editor, I have added it immediately to future request: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/6958/playlist-bulk-editor Vote it if you use LB) and loaded BB two times (I have read that the first time have to precache new playlist) but has changed quite nothing, maybe a little less, now it take about 5 minus I think Do you think it is correct now? I hoped in something better...and I have lost 1 hour to change more than 100 playlist...argh Anyway thank you again for your advice!!

Hi, I had my BB with about 100k roms and systems, playlists, loaded in very few time, maybe less than 1 min. Usually when the startup video (30-45 sec) ended, bigbog usually started. Then I have updated mame and added few platforsm but doubled my roms to 210k and now when I load BB it takes a very loooong time, about 7 min to load. I can understand that it takes more...but so much? What is strange is that hd seems not to load all the time, seems that there are idle times. It is normal? There is something that I can do?

The bezel is the only one that like me (that I use a lot I mean), on mame I am not able to set it, so it'll help a lot! I'd like also that bezel work on PAL roms...I'd like to help on that if necessary... Anyway, it is late I know, I have added 3 requests for the next pool that I find very kind and usefull. I hope you'll read them.

I try to reply. I hope I have understood. When I re/import a platform I usually disable the image dl, it is a faster way. Then I check for media and I start to download. When I have reimported mame rom set, for the letter 0-I it was quite fast to dl new images, video and so on. I have added now about 50 Gamecube roms and it has dled all in few minutes (LB and emumovies, complete all) Anyway, it is happened also to me to have some rom "missed" during import process. But talking here on forum I have discovered that I was importing not all togheter but dividing in parts, that can create some problems. Maybe a rom has 2 different names and you import the first one, then LB see it like duplicate during the second import phase. Importing all togheter resolve this. Hope that can helps, sorry if it doesnt help

it is never happened to me. Maybe your are using it in fullscreen? And change pc resolution? I have read something about it in the forum, if I remember well I use it in windows mode and with bezel and it works great.

Ok, I have downloaded all! I have taken a look and I think that videos are quite perfect. When I have time I just cut them a little to be more relevant, also the year video, divided into the different decades. I have done 2 videos in the past...it's a very long work! Also cutting is a time consuming action! Interesting platform the Pademoniun one. I should copy that. I usually don't use his videos, are too long for my taste, but they are very nice and having a dedicated part can be smart. I have also watched the image zip...what a hard work to take all that images!!! It is very usefull having all that images in one places now! I have seen that you miss one...no, I haven't look all, not yet! 🤣 So I'll attach here if you want to add it for your use. Just taken from the net...somewhere...cant remember.

Hey guys, I am just waked up with a great idea! Ahahah We are all together here to "make our games beautiful" but we have not our playlist! We should create it! What do you think? Each of us could post his personal top 5-10 here and with enough data we can create a top 50-100? Launchbox Forum playlists! I think it should be funny and maybe we should meet strange or unknown titles. We should put the titles that we truly love, not the objectively the best. A true personal playlist. I put here my list, platform and title: C64 IK+ Psx Tekken 2 Arcade Ghosts'n' Goblins Windows The cat lady SNES Donkey Kong country GameCube Luigi's mansion N64 Super Mario 64 C64 nebulus Arcade windjammer Amiga 500 kick off 2 Can be a good idea?

Really???? YOU ARE AWESOME! Ok, I dont want to ask too much, I'll try to be reasonable 🤣 What I love of your BEST playlist is that I can know new games! For example "I love katamari" for playstation! Or some hidden nes gems. Or games that I have forgotten, like MDK for psx. I put your list in my collection and I search for each missing, if any, game. The "problem" is that when you have more than 1000 games, you are lost! You cant try them all. So it is very usefull having some direction. Also the new feature "related games" is awesome. I also put cracktro and magazine, I love having my digital world all togheter Ok, I stop bothering you...it's a professional deviation 🤣 Here the top 10 missing video: - CHD required - Vertically oriented Games - UK - Years 1970-2010 (yes there are 5 video, I am cheating 🤣 ) - FUCK! - Unreleased - Best of Adult Swim OK I stop here! Dear McFly, I love your playlists! I have inserted some in my collection and I like to explore games that I dont know. The Best collection (gold, silver...) are great additions for me. But I have a big limit in this, I usually insert only playlist if I am able to add also a playlist video. For Sega a nintendo I have inserted the tv commercial (I am sure I have stolen the idea and logos somewhere, maybe from you!) but for others I have not. Amiga, C64, Intellivision...what do you use? have you also a clear logo? Anyway, thanks a lot, there are a lot of awesome idea that I want to add (like UK games or "FUCK!" I was laughing a lot, thank you!)
