  1. You have a fair point just responding to another post. Sometimes I can go off topic so thats my bad.
  2. In my opinion Launchbox is feature rich with all that it provides at this current point in time. There are other aspects I think they could develop for the frontend but I also can see why people just want it to have performance improvements in regards to speed and efficiency. My pc consists of a i9-10850k, 32gb of ram, a strix 3080 graphics card, and a 1tb nvme drive with two external drives equaling over 25tb of storage. My specs may not be the best but I also witness the same concerns with the frontend opening late along with images and videos being delayed when loading in like Retrogamer4423 posted. I'm someone who like all the bells and whistles and eye candy though it can get more complex then needed if the only thing one wants to do is browse the collection they may have for a game to play and jump in. In the future my hope is the team can focus on tweaks and optimizing so that using the frontend can be less cumbersome to the user rather than new content. Dont get me wrong its still the best option for retro gamers like myself though.
  3. I keep a playlist with Retroachievements for my collection. Since the new beta it now has doubled in size saying i have over 10000 roms supporting achievements but there are only 8684 game sets supported on the site. There are games in various platforms that show the trophy icon but show up as having no support for achievements.
  4. The difference in regard to speed and performance between 1.1.2 to 1.2 is huge. While it used to take upwards of 30 seconds to a minute for me to look up the metadata now takes 5 seconds. The plugin used to on occasion freeze or refuse to find my systems but that's now a thing of the past. Customization is a highlight for me as being able to use the filters allows me to do a deep dive into what i may have missing from a certain company or type of game. The debug menu option could come in handy if there are other issues that may arise. Neat animation by the way. Never would of guessed it was that long for you since the last c# use as this shows you know what you are doing. Keep up the great work and id love to see what comes next.
  5. It does I appreciate your suggestion. Hopefully more updates will come in the future . Have a good one.
  6. Not everyone uses them in which I fully understand plus its a playlist not a platform so I knew it may be wishful thinking. Mabey you would know more than I but could I setup Bigbox to use your theme in combination with another just for retroachievements? Still plan on it being my go to for Bigbox regardless .
  7. I don't know if this is possible but I'm a big fan of retroachievements and use a playlist dedicated to them. Can a theme be made for them somehow while while applying this as its my favorite one to use for Bigbox? Thanks for all the hard work put into your creation๐Ÿ˜Ž.
Extremely helpful as it gives me a idea of how much time I need to devote to what I want to play. Works like a charm including the means of customization. I could see this being a main part of Launchbox if given the opportunity to be integrated. Awesome stuff so thanks for the hard work!
Every launchbox user should give this plugin a try. I've used it since the initial release to fill in the gaps of my collection and it works real well. If you have a large collection just give it some time as I'm sure it will improve as future releases are made. Even when there was a error you helped me figure out the issue and fixed it when need be so thanks. Highly recommended!
  8. This is by far my go to theme for Launchbox / Bigbox and was wondering is this considered a final build or can I hope for something new in the future ?
  9. I can confirm with the newest version it now finds my metadata file and locates the systems in the Launchbox DB. Thanks for the quick solution. This is a valuable tool that I could see many people using for their game libraries so great work!
  10. I'm not sure what's going on but I put the .dll in the plugins folder and followed the steps but every system I check for missing games using the plugin results in it saying the system isn't in the Launchbox DB such as Atari 2600 or Atari 7800 and lists all games.
  11. I've always had interest in translations and rom hacks. This can lead to a situation where a series can have many variations based off its releases. I found creating playlists for them helps me manage my game collection better so I don't have to sort through each system along with its games for what I want to play. Whether it be for Sonic or any other series it would mean being able to jump into a game much faster.
  12. A section with rare artwork and illustrations is something I always look forward to cause it gives me the chance to see alternate styles or views of my favorite games I never would've experienced. If there are separate games I can unlock or secrets to uncover while I progress throughout my sessions it shows the developers appreciate my time. This in turn makes me want to come back for more. Sonic Mega Collection is a perfect example of how to do this.
  13. In terms of making a great remaster it should give the user ways to experience the Initial release in all of its intentions while showcasing enhancements that build off of that foundation in a newer version. These can be done in various ways 1. Older games tend to have graphics that may of aged poorly over time. Adding improvements to the way a game looks with textures can breath new life into the experience. 2. Controls for releases at the time may be harder to maneuver or make it less enjoyable to handle. Changing how a person can move through the game can make it less of a hassle to explore the world. 3. Original soundtracks and music can feel dated or have flaws. Improvements in how sound is produced or re-recording previous works can immerse you into every place you explore. This makes you feel like you live in that place. 4. Companies or teams don't always catch bug or glitches before release the first time and this can result in poor performance or issues the make the game unplayable. This gives time to the team to fix what was wrong so there are no issues. They should have these aspects but there has to be respect for the original. If you change too much or alter the story too far then does it really feel like a remaster or a totally different experience?
