  1. yeah, if your having a problem with a single monitor and cannot get it calibrated properly then you need to get that sorted first. I did have a problem with one of the camera's in my gun at one point and andy sent me a replacement. I would contact andy from ultimarc and see if he can help you on calibration for a single monitor in windows 10. A single monitor in windows 10 shouldn't be problematic. I will say that where you place the sensor bar does make a difference and you must stand at the same distance from the screen for it to stay calibrated.
  2. Yes, in fullscreen exclusive mode (not windowed borderless). I am using bgfx in my mame.ini config and this already assumes your guns work fine in mame on a single screen. you can also get a free trial of display fusion to try it out.
  3. I currently have this working with two aimtraks and two monitors in windows 10. I set this up some time ago but there are a few things i had to do in order to get the guns calibrated properly in mame, sega model 2, supermodel, and naomi. **This will only work with both monitors enabled if you have the emulator in Fullscreen Exclusive mode on your primary monitor. If your emulator is running in windowed mode you must disable your second monitor while playing the gun game. (for enabling and disabling monitors on the fly i use DisplayFusion command line) ** I run my primary monitor in windows on the right side and the marquee monitor on the left. This seems to cause the least disruption for me. 1. You must disable your second monitor using display fusion(or some other utility) and then calibrate the guns using the aimtrak utility in windows on your primary monitor. Make sure your resolution you calibrate at is the same aspect ratio as your gun games. 2. After the guns are calibrated in windows. Open up Bigbox and configure displayfusion to disable the secondary monitor when launching the game (using addition apps) on startup and enable the monitor when you exit the game. 3. Once you are in game enter into the calibration screen (if the game has one) and calibrate your guns with the second monitor disabled. 4. After calibration in game, exit out of the game and restart bigbox/launchbox 5. Restart the same game with the second monitor enabled and see if everything is working properly with the guns calibrated. For games in windowed mode you will always have to disable the secondary monitor in game which will lead to the bigbox marquee monitor minimized on the primary monitor when exiting the game. To correct this issue i use Displayfusion "windows position profiles" via command line to save the windows position on each monitor before starting the game and restoring them after i exit the game. *** In some cases I have found you have to also use display fusion to lock the mouse pointer to the primary monitor in which the game is being played on. This sometimes depending on the emulator allows the gun accuracy to work properly without having to disable the second monitor. You must do this before starting the game. **One thing i have found is i cannot run both 4x3 aspect ratio games and 16x9 aspect ratio games without going through the whole calibration process again or accuracy will be off.
  4. I have used the stella core in retroarch but i have not found a way to map my spinner so i can use it as a paddle in games like kaboom. Mame/mess and the stand alone stella emulator does support analog spinners but i end up having to give up bezels which is better than no spinner support.
  5. I am looking for some advice using the mame Atari 2600 system (version .213). There is one game in particular (kaboom) that has sprite blur and object distortion problems. As the bombs come down faster they end up getting blurry and elongated. This problem occurs only when using mame/mess and was wondering if anybody here has seen the same issue and solved it? I have tried every video output option with filters on and off so i am thinking this is just a problem with mame itself. My last option is to add the stand alone version of stella emulator which has spinner support but would rather not for just one game.
  6. I too have also witnessed the pause screen stop working from time to time in my setup using a keybord key. I dont use any controllers and restarting bigbox will fix the problem.
  7. You might be able to dome some the things your talking about using a third party tool such as display fusion. I have not done the exact things your talking about but i do use display fusion to shutdown my secondary marquee monitor when playing some gun games with the Aimtrak. I have also used it to remember open window positions before starting a game in bigbox and then restoring them after exiting a game. display fusion can all be scripted by using a batch file and then adding the batch files for each game under "additional apps". Check it out maybe it will help.
  8. This is to be expected for loaders of newer arcade games. I know "game loader all rh" will cause the same issues with antivirus programs when downloading and installing. I cannot say for sure the source your downloading from isn't malware but i have been using it for some time and have had no issues. The machine i use this on is dedicated solely as an arcade cabinet with no personal information. seemed pretty legit based upon the post in the forum.
  9. I copied and modified the default pause screen. Fairly easy to do. Now the instruction card shows up in the same spot as the "arcade controls" image for the arcade games platform. I just copied the arcade.xaml and renamed it to Visual Pinball under a new pause theme. Then i changed my background image priorities to have the backglass image behind everything.
  10. Thanks JoeViking245 Adding the AHK script as shown in your first post worked out great in bigbox mode. I can confirm this does work for VPX 10.6 at least for tables that don't require UltraDMD. My VPX setup is in fullscreen windowed mode so i don't know if this will work on fullscreen exclusive mode. I also have force pause screen enabled but not sure if that really makes a difference or not. now onto finding all the pinball instruction cards to add into launchbox/bigbox. Thanks again!!
  11. Has anybody gotten Visual Pinball 10.x in desktop mode working with launchbox pause screens? I have gotten the pause screen to work but when returning to the game to resume playing, the playfield is out of focus and i have to ALT-TAB to bring it back into focus. Does anybody have an tips for getting the focus to return to the game instead of the visual pinball menu?
  12. Does anybody know if you can switch from keyboard to xinput by calling a custom ipc file? it would be nice if you could just switch back and forth on the ipac by loading the needed IPC file before and after game startup.
  13. I would recommend Basing your monitor size on games you want to play and size of arcade cabinet. I use a 16x9 27" for a cabinet that is 30" wide. I wanted to play both modern and classic arcade games so the 16x9 aspect ratio made sense and it fit well for the size of the cabinet. For older arcade and console games i use 16x9 bezels in mame and retroarch with a non stretched game. The bezels are nice for displaying game info and artwork. If you dont want bezels or have no plans to play modern arcade or windows games then a 4x3 monitor might be better suited for you.
  14. i figured it out in case someone is interested. this assumes you already have the nesica games running in typextra and just need to get the controls mapped to an ipac. for each game i copied jconfig.exe along with idmacdrv32.dll to the main game folder of each nesica game. then in typextra set the controls setup file to jconfig.exe. once this is done hit the set controls icon in typextra and assign keys in jconfig. leave Dinput as joystick type and uncheck delay, createthread for joysticks, pov sends axisxy, and individual left analog. now this is the part that is strange and may be confusing a lot of people. if someone knows how to correct this please let me know. the button identification in jconfig is not labeled correctly. for instance p1 service is actually p1 up in game. i have attached screen shots of my jconfig to make it easier.
  15. I just recently got the typextra emulator working with nessica games but i am looking for a little guidance on how to setup my controls for each game. In my case i am using an ipac that emulates keys so i am not sure what is the best way or how to setup my controls for each nessica game. I can change the keys to emulate an xbox controller but i would prefer not to go this route if there is something else i can do. Anybody have any experience with setting controls for nessica games using typextra?
  16. So i guess there is no way to force 90 fps, by any chance can this get added at some point?
  17. i did the setup and it indeed needed a script to keep the arcade control lights on. Copy the script into the same folder as the game exe. Manually edit the game in launchbox to execute the attached script instead of the game exe. make sure you change your file paths in the script to match where your game exe is located. This should launch the game and automatically close the script after you exit the game. Killer_Instinct.ahk
  18. First thing you need to do is download and install the latest autohotkey along with notepad ++(notepad ++ is not required but way better than notepad). I am actually setting up killer instinct myself on my arcade cabinet so give me a day and i should have the script you need to launch it. Do you have the steam version of the game?
  19. Sometimes windows games have launchers that only stay running during startup and then the main application kicks in. This usually causes ledblinky to quicky flash the lights during startup but then almost immediately shut off. You may need to launch the game using a ahk script that stays running while the game runs.
  20. So i went and tried all the different settings and the problem still persists. I did try 60 fps and set my monitor to 60 hertz just to test and i found all the videos and animations are now smooth but the scrolling text is still a stuttering mess. Any ideas on why the scrolling text of all things would still be a problem if everything else is running smoothly? My guess is it must be something with the freesync monitor and big box but not really sure at this point. I will just disable scrolling text for now. Is there anyway to add 90 fps or change a config file to force it in bigbox?
  21. I am running a freesync monitor that is set to run at 90 Hertz default. I am noticing that videos and scrolling text are running choppy due to big box running at 60 fps. I found an old forum post indicating that a feature would be added to allow changing the FPS that Big Box runs. Has this feature ever been implemented and if so how do i change it to 90 fps to match the monitor frequency?
  22. Let me first off by saying, awesome job on the theme. The built in dynamic marquee is a great addon. I have a few questions concerning the theme. 1. Can i somehow disable the scrolling text in both the platform/playlist view and games list view? The text is just not scrolling smoothly. Dont know if this has to do with the freesync monitor i am running. 2. Lastly i was wondering if there are any theme matching platform/playlist marquee banners available?
  23. I figured out the problem! For some reason after the windows upgrade the vjoy driver stayed enabled. This normally is never enabled but is used with universal control remapper (UCR). Not sure why but when vjoy is enabled and listed in windows list of joystick devices it causes this error with demul.
  24. Looking for help on what is causing this demul error after upgrading windows 10 1709 to windows 10 1803 version. I did find others with similar errors but everything i have tried so far has made no difference. I have several versions of Demul installed including the latest 180428 version and they all are now throwing this error for any game i try to play. If i click ok on the error it will continue to the game and play fine but the popup box is sometimes out of focus so i cannot always just hit enter. I am not using any joysticks and this is all being controlled via an IPAC. It seems like some kind of directx error but looking for any solutions out there to fix the error or use some kind of script to just close the error box automatically.
  25. i rencently got back into virtual pinball and setup pinball fx3 with all the bally williams tables, visual pinball, and some future pinball tables. since pinball arcade had lost the williams license and doesnt have an easy way to launch single tables i decided against purchasing. pinball fx3 arcade physics just for the bally williams tables are pretty good. they made significant improvements to physics when they released the bally williams tables. if you have not tried the fish tales table with arcade physics, then give it a shot. visual pinball has always been pretty good but each table can have big differences in table physics. its just a matter of finding the table version you prefer. future pinball is good but development has stopped i think. you really have to match the right version of bam physics on a per table basis. if you have the wrong physics matched to the table then its sometimes unplayable.
