  1. here is my batch file script for reference. My guess would be to add -fastboot to your script and that might fix the problem. **don't use my full script below since this most likely will not work.
  2. which game or games do you have the problem cycling through all the screens? on my setup dragon's lair does cycle through a bunch of screens before fully starting up but the screens are not actual gameplay screens.
  3. I did just get an aimtrak gun setup on my arcade cabinet. So far i am satisfied with the gun. The accuracy is good but i wish going from 16x9 to 4x3 games there was a way to recall a saved calibration for the gun instead of recalibrating in the game (not a deal breaker). I dont have any experience with other light guns but i will be purchasing a second aimtrak gun for my cabinet. The only thing i will caution is windows 10 with dual monitors does not play nice with aimtrak guns. I have used the gun in mame, taito type x, sega ringwide/ringedge, and american laser games with no issues.
  4. Here is a link to a video that helped me. In the youtube video description is a generic ahk script for launching games. Now this is the modified version of the ahk script for cuphead that I use with notes: ; Create a shortcut from steam to the game you want to play and replace XXXXXX with the game id from that shortcut. Copy the game id below and then delete the shortcut you just created. Run, steam://rungameid/268910 ; Sleep a few seconds to wait for it to activate. This may not be needed, it's ; just to be certain it's good to go. Sleep, 5000 ; Use the window title since the game launches additional exe. ; This will wait for the window to exist, then wait for it to close. WinWait, Cuphead WinWaitClose ; Shut off the splash image, if any. SplashImage, Off ExitApp
  5. Cuphead launches a secondary exe for the main game so that is why led blinky is not lighting your controls or is lighting them very briefly when the game starts. I fixed this by using an autohotkey script to launch the game and exit when cuphead closes. You have to change the game path in launchbox to launch the ahk script instead of the game exe/steam shortcut.
  6. How are you lauching the game? I have ledblinky working fine on my cabinet with cuphead.
  7. After looking into this problem some more i discovered the the window for the marquee image is just minimized on the primary monitor. When i reenable the monitor the window just stays minimized on the primary monitor. I have a utlility i can use to move the window back to the marquee monitor but i am having a hard time finding a way to identify the bigbox marquee window. i am looking for a consistent class name, or title of the marquee window. Or if someone has an ahk script to move the marqee window that would also work.
  8. I am running bigbox in windows 10 with dual monitors. the second monitor is setup as the marquee monitor. I have to disable the second monitor whenever i run a lightgun game in order for the Aimtrak gun to stay properly calibrated in windows 10. I setup a utilty called MultiMonitorTool in launchbox to disable the marquee monitor when starting a lightgun game and reenable the marquee monitor when i quit the game. This is the only solution so far that keeps the aimtrak gun properly calibrated in game and stops issues with shooting off screen onto the marquee monitor. Andy from ultimarc has confirmed this is an issue in windows 10. The problem is when reenabling the marquee monitor using multimonitor tool, bigbox will no longer display the artwork but instead i only see the windows desktop, In order to get the artwork to display on the marquee monitor i have to restart bigbox. I have tried selecting the marquee monitor in the bigbox options screen with not luck. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get the artwork displaying again on the marquee monitor without restarting bigbox? i was hopefully looking for some type of batch file i could run to get the artwork to display on marquee monitor.
  9. Thanks supagrova! Just installed on my new arcade build with windows 10 and its working great. Saves me from having to install a physical volume knob in my arcade cabinet.
  10. I just installed a new set of ultrmarc servostik joysticks in a new arcade cab that i am building. They work great with launchbox and ledblinky. The only minor downside i noticed is the screws come loose pretty easy on the gate plate after some use. It is basically a sanwa jlw with a gate plate and motor on it. If you like the feel of a jlw then this should work pretty well.
  11. I figured out a workaround for my dual monitor problem. The solution was very simple. It turns out when you have your primary monitor setup on the left and the marquee monitor on the right you can end up with a distorted marquee for games that use lower display resolutions than the desktop. Simply swapping my primary monitor to the right and marquee monitor to the left made all the distorted images on the marquee monitor stop. why this makes a difference i have no idea but the solution worked for me. I think the problem was certain emulators/games that startup at lower screen resolutions of say 640x480 were causing the bigbox window (which is minimized during game play) on the primary monitor to stretch into the second monitor and causing the marquee image to get partially pushed off the screen. hope this solution helps others with the same problem.
  12. The emulators that i am having the distorted marquee images with are Sega Model 2, Supermodel, and Daphne. When i launch any game using these 3 emulators the marquee gets pushed halfway off the screen to the right and part of the game info screen that was on the main monitor before launching the game gets pushed to the left side of the marquee monitor. Then when you exit the game the marquee image either goes back to normal (centered) and the game info disappears or the image stays distorted and only a restart of bigbox fixes the problem. basically the marquee image is distorted for the entire time you are playing the game. Sega model 2 and supermodel are running 1280x960 res for all games and daphne is running 1280x720 for a few games and the rest run 640x480 res. **if i alt-tab off to another window while the game is running, the marquee image goes back to normal but the problem will return as soon as alt-tab back to the game. The games that give me the most trouble that will push the entire bigbox interface to the secondary monitor on game exit are some of the taito type x games. One example is chaos breaker which always pushes the launchbox or bigbox interface onto the secondary monitor after exiting the game. I have tried setting high res, low res, and setting different display resolutions in gameres.dat and nothing seems to fix the problem Normally i wouldn't care but this is all running on an arcade cabinet which will not easily have access to a keyboard and mouse. hiding the handful of games that push the interface to the secondary monitor is the quick fix for now but i want to find a stable solution for the distorted marquee image since this does affect a good amount of games. As for the AMD driver i have tried a few recent ones but I am one revision behind the current and if i go back to any 2017 drivers then it might cause bugs with freesync. I was hoping this could be solved with making some kind of setting change to either the display driver, monitor, windows 10, or maybe using DMT (dual monitor tools). I have no experience with DMT so i have no idea if this will even solve the problem. Any help is appreciated.
  13. I have been having problems with both launchbox and bigbox with my dual monitor setup. launchbox is version 8.3 with the secondary monitor setup in Bigbox for marquee display using the default theme. When launching certain emulators and games sometimes the launchbox/Bigbox interface gets moved to the secondary monitor. I have also had issues in Bigbox mode when launching certain emulators or certain games that the secondary monitor displaying the marquee gets distorted where the marquee image gets shifted halfway off the screen. I am not sure if this is a driver issue or windows 10 issue. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this problem please let me know. I have found some workarounds by adjusting the primary display resolution for some emulators and games but i still have some games/emulators that no amount of tweaking fixes this problem. My system consists of: intel 3570 16 gigs of ram AMD fx 550 primary monitor MG279 (running freesync) secondary monitor HP LP1965 Windows 10 64bit I have all the lasted drivers installed.
  14. I did setup an AHK script and got it to work as an additional application. Thanks for the confirmation! The only problem i have now is figuring out how to close the script after the game closes. I am using this AHK script for a dosbox game to remap a bunch of keys but i could use a little guidance on the best way to make the script close itself when dosbox closes.
  15. I have been setting up many games in launchbox and i have come across a few specific pc games that i cannot remap keys and i will need to use AHK or Vjoy to get them working properly. I was wondering if launchbox can be setup to run the scripts for just these specific games when i launch them and close the application after exiting the game. Can i add these to additional applications under the game edit menu? Looking for guidance on the best way to set this up on a per game basis. Thanks
  16. I was wondering if anybody has a script or method to change monitor resolution, color depth, and refresh rate on the windows 10 desktop before starting an emulator/rom from launchbox and then revert back after closing the rom/emulator. I would prefer this to happen automatically as some kind of AHK script in launchbox. I tried a few scripts i found but not having much luck getting them to work. I am doing this since some emulators do not have settings for changing your monitor refresh rate and don't properly work with a freesync monitor. This is for emulators like demul, sega model 2 that i want to change my refresh rate because i cannot run the games at 90 FPS which causes screen tear.
  17. I am open to suggestions on games as long as they would play well on an arcade cabinet without analog joysticks. The games I am looking to play would ideally meet the following: 1.two player games on the steam platform that can be played simultaneously without splitting the screen. 2.doesnt require a mouse in game or in menus. (I do have a trackball but no left and right mouse click buttons) 3. Can launch right into the game from bigbox and navigate using my arcade controls. 4. Fun to play arcade style games like brawlers, shooters, side strollers, etc that dont require you to grind it out to unlock extras.
  18. I am looking for recommendations on steam games that work well on an arcade cabinet setup using Bigbox and a keyboard emulator(IPAC). I have two 8 way sticks each having six buttons, plus a trackball, admin buttons, and aimtrak guns. It just seems so many new games have issues with controls being mapped to keyboards (especially with two players) so i am looking for newer easy to setup fighters, side scrolling, shooters that might be really fun to complement the massive amount of arcade roms i already have setup and working.
  19. yeah i got the same results when i tried copying the config into the demul.ini file. oh well, guess the multiple install method is the only way for now. This whole problem would go away if demul would let you pick a preferred region in the ini file.
  20. Thanks for the reply dos76. Yeah I agree having to setup demul several times just to use a different bios file is a pita. The only reason I thought it was possible was due to this post on a rocketlauncher forum. The last post on the page is talking about an ini file but not sure which one. http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-899.html
  21. I am looking for instructions on how to set the region on a per game basis in demul for naomi and naomi 2 arcade roms. I have demul setup and running great in launchbox/bigbox but i want to configure each rom to use a specific region bios. I want most games to run the USA bios but some games need to have the japan bios to work properly. Does anybody know of a way to set the bios using a config file in demul?
