Mute64
So i have started implementing Rocketlauncher into LaunchBox and i plan on using the "Pause" feature with Rocketlauncher so i can pause said game and view the manuals and wot not... now as some of you may know Rocketlauncher manuals and LaunchBox manuals are stored differently so i currently can not just point RL or LB to one Manual directory, so i will need to have 2 Manual Directories one for RL and one for LB... but with talks of LB intergrating RL more into its front end could we see directories like this in the future be merged as one ? @Jason Carr If so i will not bother redownloading RL manuals and will just wait for a possible future intergation with RL. Retrofrogg
I am also keen to see if this issue is resolved. Surely we can access the same manuals both from within Rocketlauncher/Pause, and Launchbox/BB?
kmoney
I too would like to see this happen but @Jason Carr stated that he was hesitant to add more complicated logic to the file parsing of the RocketLauncher manuals for performance reasons to view and navigate them in LB's PDF Viewer which is understandable. I think in time we can think of another way so we could view and navigate the RL manuals in LaunchBox that would not effect performance so we would not have to have 2 different manual folders for each. CriticalCid
It already works. Just the other way around. RL finds the manuals (and other media) you have in your LB folder and can open them in the Pause menu.
kmoney
Yes, RL displays the manuals and other media stored in the LaunchBox folder just fine just not the other way around for the Rocketlauncher manual naming convention.
CriticalCid
Well that’s only an issue if you use more FE’s than LB with your RL setup. If you only use LB as your main FE than you can just rename the manuals you have in your RL installation and move them to LB to avoid duplicates and still have the ability to access them in both LB and RL. And with the right batch files it only takes a minute (per platform) to rename hundreds of manuals from the RL to the LB naming conventions. At least that’s what I did with the RL manual packages from RetroHumanoid.
fromlostdays
For the most part, Rocketlauncher displays my launchbox manuals with no effort at all. I just did a fresh install of both RL and LB a couple of weeks ago, and Rocketlauncher Pause displays the manuals I downloaded through launchbox automatically. Retrofrogg
Seeing as Rocketlauncher is the universal launcher & ROM manager, it would be better if the frontends (including Launchbox) could read the media data from Rocketlauncher, rather than the other way round.
