Zombeaver
That'd be totally sweet dude! Make sure you take some photos if you do. I've said my piece on the matter more than once around here (kindof preaching to the choir around these parts I suppose) but people really need to stop treating emulation like it's some kind of awful, terrible, no-good, irredeemable sin. It isn't. It's the preservation of the history of an important art medium; and the only reliable means of doing it at that. People need to grow up. Zombeaver
I've always loved the cover for Karateka. It's like a movie poster for an awesome 80's martial arts flick. Karateka itself completely blew me away as a kid - the animations were amazing for the time. It made use of rotoscoping which was basically unheard of in video games at that point. Jordan Mechner, the developer, went on to apply the same technique to even greater effect in his next game - Prince of Persia.

Looking at it on a smaller scale here as a preview it looks like the console is a little bit off-center (to the right) so I'm gonna fix that real quick... Zombeaver
Alright, here's the Neo Geo Pocket Color one. I think it turned out pretty well. A few of 'em had to take one for the team though (oh, and SNK all-the-way-erryday)
LogicalEgo
Dude, hot damn! Turned out pretty bad ass.
Zombeaver
Thanks! The download section has now been updated to include Atari 7800 and Neo Geo Pocket Color.
Zombeaver
Technically this is from the Super Famicom cover but it was used in promotional materials for the Game Boy Color version so I'm gonna let it slide
Kevin_Flynn
You can never go wrong with Chrono Trigger... However, it could just be me but the handheld feels a little out of place. Almost like it's not 3D compared to others.
Zombeaver
It's not from Chrono Trigger (which isn't on the GBC to begin with)... it's Dragon Warrior III. The GBC is at a somewhat less steep angle than some of them. The device itself doesn't have the same amount of physical depth as a console though so that's kindof unavoidable. The original Game Boy one is the same way...
Kevin_Flynn
D'oh. I was thinking Dragon Quest and I still wrote Chrono Trigger. Why not something like the red one (angle wise) : imgur.com/28ZRGkT
Zombeaver
It's at the the wrong angle. All of them are upwards and back towards the right. That would look way more out of place than this one does.
Zombeaver
Here's an alternate. I don't think it looks any better or worse honestly but it's using an opaque model rather than the transparent one.
Kevin_Flynn
Thanks for humoring me. I like the alternative much more.
Zombeaver
No problem! I don't even have GBC in my own library so I might as well make something that people who do will actually like. And hey, more options are always good.
LogicalEgo
As a person that HATED I mean HATED the transparency trend, looking at you N64! ya bastard, its still a nice piece of work Zom.
Zombeaver
Thanks! I always thought it looked neat on the GBC (though I never had a GBC period - transparent or otherwise). I just had a plain old gray OG Game Boy, so maybe that's why. For N64 I had the normal black.
