I have a duplicate RetroArch emulator in RL I call MesstroArch that uses an old version of the RetroArch.ahk along with the mess 2015 core that works, but using the mame core is preferable as it gets updated. I spent a couple of hours yesterday searching for how to get it working as I wanted to use RetroArch with the mame core instead of the separate MAME and MESS that I was currently using. I could not find the answer anywhere so decided to work it out. ww97 Posted August 21, 2017 Share Posted August 21, 2017 I still have problems with file extensions in RA. The .BIN extension (maybe) is STUCK to Mednafen PCE-CD core that I installed. My target is a Super A'Can roms that MESS runs it; but the roms are in .bin format and even if I select MAME core, the upper bar shows that PCE-CD core has been opened. DOS76 Posted August 21, 2017 Share Posted August 21, 2017 to use MESS games in RA you pretty much have to use the software list games there is a way to do this but it involves making special edits to every game you want to run that way.
