Dreamwarrior77
I just started with retroarch and I really think this project will be amazing for us in the future as it progresses but for now I am trying to get use to using it. So far I got some things setup but one thing I am wondering is how you set the video options for each core. Where are these options located in retroarch? Lordmonkus
Well if you first go into the "Configuration" menu and turn on "Configuration Per-Core" that will enable you to adjust your video settings and it will be saved for the core you currently have loaded. Dreamwarrior77
I did enable this config per core setting but not sure how to make it widescreen aspect ratio.. anyway of enabling this?
Lordmonkus
Aspect Ratio Index in the Video Settings, you can choose all sorts of ratios in there, But just so you are aware you will be stretching 99% of your games and it won't look right. Dreamwarrior77
Yes I do realize this but like it for some games though. Hmm it says core provided and there is no options..
Lordmonkus
Ok as long as you are aware that it will stretch that's all. I know some people like it and some people don't. Open the RA menu then go right one to the cogwheel icon, then down to Video and then scroll down to the Aspect Ratio Index, then just scroll right til you get the aspect you want. Dreamwarrior77
says core provided and there is no options.. also, I tried to change the custom viewport width and height with no luck. Lordmonkus
Yeah, at where it says core provided press right a couple of times, it should change. Set it to what you want, im assuming 16:9 is what you are looking for but there are a whole pile of choices.
Dreamwarrior77
Oh! I got it now BUT I still can not get it to stretch the image to widescreen.
Lordmonkus
Hmmm, not sure. First I thought maybe integer scale had an effect on it maybe but my testing shows it doesn't. But for me I can change ratios and it changes instantly.
Dreamwarrior77
Does it stretch on yours to widescreen 16:9? I still have the black borders, it looks good but would be nice to have it full screen stretched for some titles.
Dreamwarrior77
Hey thanks for helping me, going out to get some air but will check back, maybe someone else can shed some light on this subject for us?
Lordmonkus
no problem
Zeromod
What core is being used and what are the options you have set for it at this time? Also, you said you were messing with a custom viewport, did you undo that after you figured out how to change the aspect ratio from core provided to what you wanted? Dreamwarrior77
I don't remember what core I was trying I think it was snes9 next.. but I have to change the custom viewport back and see what is up with it but it looks like some cores do 16:9 and fill up my whole screen and some cores do not. I hope in the future they will fix this across all cores because it really kinda sucks if you want all full screen and some cores can not do it so you then have to resort to trying other emulators and see if they do full screen. DOS76
What cores are you having an issue with I run many games through RA all in 16:9 I've never had anything open in any other aspect ratio.
