I'm using Zstd version of 7zip now. My next step is to try to recreate this beta version. For now it works if I put manually the files to the ThirdParty\7-zip folder.  I have no more errors about game.ini in my events.log I still can't choose a specific game in a multi-roms archive. The problem seems to be game-index.ini, I had to delete it or the plugin wouldn't work.

Yesss!  This works for me after following your instructions.  I don't use multi-roms archives, so that doesn't apply to me right now, so I appreciate this!  I also overwrote the .original files in the plugin's 7-zip directory with the other version just in case those ever come into play.

This sounds close to a fix again its a shame that @fraganator doesn't seem to be around to make an official update, this is literally the best plug in for launchbox.

Hey there, I tried your attached files and unfortunately the functionality is not working at all on the latest (3.20) version of Launchbox. Even if I bring back the old version of the plugin, the functionality does not seem to return. Ironically, the GUI for Archive Cache is totally fine now.

What currently happens now is I pick a game (in a .zip/.7z compressed archive - ex. game1.7z, which contains game1.{whatever-file-extension}) to launch from LB. That game file is copied to thirdparty/7-zip/temp folder and is immediately deleted upon closing the game. The archive cache folder still exists and I can view it/go to it via the GUI, but it's not being used to store the games. Not sure if this is standard LB behavior and the plugin in not functioning at all or if something is messed up with the plugin and it's not going to the appropriate spot.

This kind of defeats the purpose of my setup, as my games are on various external drives and I'd rather not have the drives plugged in beyond the first time I load the game when it's not in my archive cache.

Any advice with this? It's possible I built from the source file you provided wrong (i just ran the build.bat, then copied the contents of "release" into the cleared out ArchiveCacheManager folders under plugins).

You need to manually copy archivecachemanager.dll archivecachemanager.core.dll archivecahemanage.runtimeconfig.json and archivecachemanager.exe into thirdparty/7-zip

And rename 7z.exe as 7-zip.exe and archivecachemanager.exe as 7z.exe in thirdparty/7-zip

The file 7z.exe.original is missing in 7-zip folder. Probably because you have 2 ArchiveCacheManager plugins. Can't say which one is writing to your log.

i have the 7z.exe.original in the folder but i still cant get launchbox to display the plugin when i right click any game in my platform library

Just wanted to let you all know that I had submitted a feature request to have some of the features that this plugin can do to be officially added into LaunchBox.  Specifically, I was talking about the extraction of zip files to be stored locally (but I'm hoping that they add more).  Here is the link to the feature request.  https://feedback.launchbox.gg/p/feature-request-to-have-launchbox-cache-my-games-from-nas  Please check it out and give it an upvote.  Thanks.

I'm on the latest Launchbox beta and when I use your modded plugin the following error occur:

"7-Zip returned an error when trying to extract the archive."

log file without any issue or hint...

The latest version of ArchivManager works for me.

You don't have any line in your log with "========" as if 7zip was not replaced by the plugin. Can you look in ThirdParty/7-zip folder when launchbox is started ? You should have 7z.exe (the plugin) and 7-zip.exe (the original 7z.exe renamed)

When Launchbox isn't running, there is a "Temp" folder, "7z.dll", "7z.exe", and 3 txt-files in my ThirdParty/7-Zip folder.

In the attached file, you can see the files that are present when Launchbox is running.

When I want to start a game that needs to be extracted, a game.ini file will be created with the following content:

[Game]
GameId=767c24f8-e2a6-4281-9a5e-6a5a45a0e1de
ArchivePath=F:\Spiele\Redump\Nintendo - GameCube (Europe)\Pikmin 2 (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It).zip
Emulator=Dolphin
Platform=Nintendo GameCube
Title=Pikmin 2
Version=(Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It)
SelectedFile=
DecompressedSize=0
KeepInCache=False
EmulatorPlatformM3u=False
MultiDisc=False

I have tried a fresh installation of Launchbox, but I still get the same error message...
