cleverest
I've right clicked it on left and deleted it, I've CTRL+A all the games in it and deleted (keeping the roms and moving them elsewhere) I plan on re-importing them, but since renaming my super nintendo category to nintendo super nintendo (to list them close to nintendo, this was before we could choose to SORT name them I believe), I've had nothing but trouble with art not showing up (even though I moved it to the new folder), or Super Famicom games getting mixed up, etc...coming back continually after deleting it and restarting LB, etc...got the super famicom section worked out now, but I need to start over with SNES...Everytime I delete it and close LB, it's back when I re-open it...help! Thanks in advance!
neil9000
Close Launchbox, go to your Launchbox/Data/platforms folder and delete the .xml from there.

cleverest
Is it just because the images are there? That should no't matter, right?,...I figured I'd re-import and just uncheck the images to save time...
neil9000
Well that image has a different name to the default, is it a playlist rather than a platform?

No like I said I renamed it...well technically I guess I created a new platform and named it that...if I edit that it's a PLATFORM
Lordmonkus
Just rename the platform to the name you want it to be.
cleverest
I 32 minutes ago, lordmonkus said: Just rename the platform to the name you want it to be. I renamed it, and all video and images files, including platforms, theme folders, EVERYTHING to the original one (by removing the 'Nintendo' from the start of it) and it STILL comes up with Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System as a platform on the left side, with all 970 games I've been trying to delete... If I right click a game and go OPEN FOLDER, I get L:\LaunchBox\Games\Super Nintendo Entertainment System (empty, my games are elsewhere for now) If I right click on a game and choose GO TO IMAGES, I get: L:\LaunchBox\Images\Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System\Box - Front (empty of files too cause I cleaned it out/moved it) I have no idea...I'm floored. Lordmonkus
No idea what to tell you, I just tried it and it works. Here is a before and after screen cap.
cleverest
I'm painstakingly/annoyingly going through and renaming each of these which makes me browse from explorer COMPUTER root every time I click BROWSER on an entry to find it...we'll see if that helps... Lordmonkus
The paths don't need to change.
cleverest
the paths still show the old NINTENDO SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM path, not the one I want: SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM I can't think of anything else to try... Lordmonkus
Remove all your SNES games from Launchbox and re-import them to the new platform name you want. But simply renaming the platform works for me.
cleverest
Weird as I'm going through and creating this I noticed sometimes when I browse each entry it pops me into the NINTENDO SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM - which shouldn't be there BECAUSE I delete it every few minutes...something is re-creating this folder.... Lordmonkus
Remove your games from Launchbox, delete the Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System folder from your Launchbox\Images folder and reimport them. Or rename the Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System to the new name you want and reimport the games to that platform name.
cleverest
Okay I'll try a re-import with the new settings hopefully that does it...but shouldn't I just be able to permanently delete a platform if I want?
cleverest
one last attempt, I ran scan for removed roms, it found all roms removed and deleted them and the category (like it does when I do it manually) and it gave me an error this time...going to re-import next... cleverest
Can you provide me your Super Nintendo XML file in your Launchbox\data\platforms folder? I'm missing that....
cleverest
If I install launchbox over my install, I'll lose nothing as per this thread (last post) or is that not the came anymore?
Lordmonkus
My xml file would have all the paths for my roms so it would be useless to you. If you re-import your roms it will generate a new one for you.
