Sync backup disk

Hi all,

I have a 2 TB hard disk containing my Launchbox and another 2 TB hard disk as a backup.

The backup process is time consuming and it is stressing the disks (I format the backup disk and copy everything from the original disk) 

I am using Windows 10 64 bit

Is there any free software that can manually "sync" the backup disk against the original one? Meaning I plug the backup disk and init a sync process.

I highly recommend FreeFileSync. It won't likely do it automatically when you plug the drive in, but it is scriptable and you could set it up to do that.

Yeah, synctoy is a manual process, its not constantly watching, You just tell it two folders, and which way/ways the sync should go, then you trigger it yourself. Far safer in my opinion.

I'm using Vice Versa Pro since over 15 years now, absolutely love it, although it's not free. I tried many free ones during that time, didn't find anything to my taste, so I stick with it. 

I also do my backups manually, just to be on the safer side, I don't want anything to sync/mirror if I don't have the control.

After trying several different backup solutions, I settled on FreeFileSync as well.
